Mobster's Baby

Rate this book
Violence is my language and bloodshed is my currency.

I'd be the first one to tell you: I'm not a good man.
I steal things. I hurt people.
Drugs and money are all that I know.

That is, until I see Portia. Until I decide to take her for my own.
With a body so tempting, a mouth so ripe, how could I resist?

I didn't know she was the heiress to another mobster's fortune.
I didn’t know she would become part of a dangerous game.
And I didn’t know that she’d become not only my lover, but the mother of my child.

Now she’s pregnant and in danger. She’s the prize to be captured.
Only I can protect her and our child.
But if my enemies get to me, she'll be left alone.
Vulnerable.
Weak.

No one ever said that it was easy having a mobster's baby.

Mobster's Baby is a full-length, standalone romance novel with steamy hot sex, strong language, a happily ever after ending, and NO CLIFFHANGERS. Contains dark and disturbing themes, and over-the-top sexiness that may be uncomfortable for some readers.

Perfect for fans of Sam Crescent, Jenika Snow, L Wilder, Sabrina Paige, Lauren Landish, Vanessa Waltz, Jordan Marie, and Nicole Snow.

I'm a sucker for Mafia Books, which is one of the reason I gave this one a chance, that and because I always like to try new authors.

While the plot was attractive, that's what made me finish the book, the characters annoyed the hell out of me. For a 27 years old girl, the "heroine" was beyond childish. And the "hero" was a total dickhead. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE some of them, LOL, but this one got on my nerves. I didn't believe for a second that he could love her, so at the end I was like yeah, sure... not happening.

Even the steamy scenes were a bit tarnished because of my inability to connect with the characters. And let me tell you that there were some hot scenes, but I just couldn't enjoy them.

I'm sad. But I'm not giving up. Here I go for my next Mafia book. Yaaaay!

Didnt care much for the characters. Portia is extremely whiny and Axel is a insensitive asshole.

I absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The book covers Portia Campanella who has suffered disappointments in her life with regards to her career and men. She has a one night stand with Alex Riccardi and that is where the fun starts. In this story you will find: a boyfriend lies, heartbreak, a one night stand, a sexy domineering man, unplanned pregnancy, drugs, Italian mafia, Russian deals, drugs, murder, action, a marriage, abduction, ransomed demands, revenge, a foster brother's betrayal, violence, emotional feeling, falling in love, and rough sometimes tender loving erotic scenes. I will definitely recommend this book to people that like to read a well written mafia romance with a HEA.

A very interesting read. West takes Portia through a roller coaster of emotions and turns her life upside down. Axel has to grow up quickly and shines. You get angry with both at points through the book, then you're like yes!!! But at the end it is wrapped up nicely. West wrote this book keeping you on your toes throughout. Definitely a recommended read.

I read this as a bonus book to another by same author. I didn't rate this one very high; it's not that the writing wasn't good; it's just that the storyline was too predictable and honestly, the thought of reading another book about an unwanted "surprise" becomes almost too cliched after awhile. So I only read this through about 50% and then just gave up. Monsters are not really my thing either.

ARC was given for a honest review~~~~~~
Portia in the beginning was a naive woman and the first man she loved, when that happen she was very clingy and behaved like this guy hung the was a God that was so and completely in love with her until a night she found the real truth, married. Now months later she wants to forget her 'true love' but he is always on her mind. Now enters Axel, a mob boss's son the enjoys the perks of title, money and long line of ladies for his one night stands. He might have his work cut out to win his dad's approval to take over after his dad passes from cancer. When he goes to the bar that Portia bartends at he know she was his nights special bed partner. Next day he verbally pushes her out his door and to never think about him again. Until he finds out who she really is, she don't even know. Axle is conceded, arrogant, prick of a bastard that treats any one like shit, no matter is its blood family, The Family, women or even the one woman that has his dick in a vise that only.she can control, no matter is she is pregnant and needy. These two both need to have their heads knocked together with his attitude and her whining, it was sickening after a while on those parts.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review of this book.

Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down and read it straight through. I love books like that! They just suck you in and don't let go.
Portia meets Axel through her job and they have a one night sizzling stand. Which turned to have consequences that neither one of that planned on.
Portia is pulled into Axel's life, neither one of them realizing her true family history. He must fight for Portia's life.
This book has quite a bit of action, suspense and intrigue. Portia's bravery surprises us all. Very well written book. I really enjoyed it.

Ridiculous

I can't believe some of the things that happened in this book. First of all, the Heroine got on my nerves. I know she was pregnant so her emotions were all over the place, but cried/whined entirely too much. And the Hero was an idiot. He constantly talked about how he thought his "friend" was up to something, but yet he ignored that feeling and his "friends" strange behavior and called him over to his house to guard his pregnant wife and seemed surprised when that backfired. I'm so glad the book was on KU otherwise I would have returned it for a refund. By the time I hit the 50% mark, I was skipping chapters.

Axel is in the family business. Axel is arrogant and demanding. Axel is also good looking. Portia works as a waitress. Portia has sworn off men since she found out about her ex being married the whole time they were together. Portia has a one night stand with Axel. The next morning Axel rushes Portia out and doesn't know why or understand. Axel gets a job to protect Portia and he finds out that Portia is pregnant with his child. Axel will do anything in his power to keep Portia and his baby safe. This was a great read. I couldn't put it down until the very end. It's full of surprises and suspense. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Typical Mobster Romance Plot

While this story made for distracted mindless reading, it could have been improved with better character development. Somethings were rather difficult to reconcile such as how innocent Portia was yet she seemed to so easily fall into strangers' beds and Axel went to boarding school, completing an education, but spoke like a thug. And with Axel being in line to take over, where were his goons? He seemed to have to resolve everything himself, and poorly at that..

There were also some grammer/spelling mistakes that are distracting.

Not something I would normally pick up, but I was given this ARC in exchange for a honest review. After one night of extreme pleasure Axel kicks Portia out of his house never to be heard from again. Leo is head of "the family" and he has one job for his son, find his dead best friends daughter. Lo and behold, it's Portia. Mayhem, murder, kidnapping and pregnancy...everything that's needed in a Mafia romance.

Portia has led a rather ordinary life until she meets Axel. She gives into her cardinal desired and has a night she will never forget. It also happens to be a life altering experience. She knows little about Axel or his life, but suddenly finds out more than she ever bargained for.

I enjoyed reading this story. It kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next. I also enjoyed the fact that it was a stand alone, with no cliffhangers.

A "one night stand" had some pretty intense repercussions for Axel and Portia! You HAVE to read this one!! Not the typical bad boy/good girl plot by any means Betrayal and denial abound as they try to navigate what fate has thrown at them.

****I receive a copy of this book as a gift for my honest opinion****

I truly enjoyed reading Portia and Axel's story. A one night stand lead to a life that Portia wasn't ready for.  But in the end all the drama and secrets lead to a happy ending. This book has kidnapping, murder, suspense and a twist that will leave you speechless.  I highly recommend this book.  I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review

This story has drama, action with some twists and steamy romance. I was hooked from the beginning. Axel and Portia have a one night stand. Little do they know it will change their lives. The chemistry between Axel and Portia is hot and will not be disappointed. Can Axel protect Portia? This is enjoyable read. Received copy for honest review.

Good Read romance, with a little intrigue and danger

I enjoyed the two main characters of Axel and Porcia. I did not understand how her father could have been so deep in the mafia, then left her with a large inheritance that she did not even know about. This story was well written by a new author for me.

The book started out a little on the shake my head at the behavior of the H/h. The author picked up her proverbial writing reigns and made a wonderful story come to life. Would recommend to others for enjoyable reading.

This book could be read in very few hours, but I've been busy. Heather west did a good job for a novella, but I was thinking the whole time if she'd let us know characters, it really would be so much better for all.

The main man character Axel was very arrogant, cocky and perfect a-hole but a woman Portia was so timid, only in some scenes was she a hellcat. She was always crying and she has a low self-esteem. I did not like this book and although the cover ia awesome the book was so disappointing.

Not really impressed with the storyline. The authors writing style was kind of "jumpy" for lack of a better word, it was hard fir me to keep up with where the story was going or how it would end
