Book two in the Mirror of Blackmor Trilogy!
Sevin, having stepped through the Mirror of Blackmor, has survived two years on Earth, a place which adversely affects his body and conjures up extraordinary sensations. His goals are to do whatever it takes to trigger his powers, find information regarding his father, who deserted him and his mother long ago in his homeland on Aaru, and to locate the mirror so he can return to his life as a trainer of soldiers in the army of the Queensguard.
At a standstill in his search, he hires Brynn Cavanaugh, a strong-willed, beautiful hometown woman filled with tenacity and courage, sparking passion and unbridled desire within. From the moment he sees her, he knows she is the one the Hendrin spoke of, the one that will force him to make tough choices and will change his life forever.
Brynn Cavanaugh has survived her little sister, but has barely lived herself. Feeling trapped in the small town of Walnut, Iowa, she decides it’s time for her to make a change and accepts a research position in the employment of the gorgeous Sevin Blackmor, the mysterious millionaire who built a mansion on his ancestors rural property. Sevin is nothing like how she expected him to be. He’s dominant, demanding to be sure, but discreetly kind and generous. His ability to see through her and his unique sensual ways, strokes her deepest cravings for more of him.
Determined to keep their relationship platonic, they begin to work together and uncover secrets surrounding the mirror and the Order, a sect of druids from long ago, comprised of three families.
As Sevin’s powers ignite, so does passion and sexual hunger burn between them, calling out, demanding they bind themselves together as one and fulfill the destiny of the gods.
Will Sevin return to the land of Sorrah to help his loved ones who face certain peril?
Will he be able to leave Brynn behind or will love find a way to keep them together?

This is the second novel in the Mirror of Blackmor Trilogy. It tells the story of Sevin who traveled to Earth through the mirror that Sorrah traveled to Aaru through. Sevin has lived on Earth for the past two years trying to both find a way back home to Aaru and to find out any information that he can about his birth father. He winds up hiring a woman named Brynn Cavanaugh to help him with his search. At first they don't really get along but that soon changes and they wind up falling in love.

They work together and find out about the three Druid families that are at the heart of this story. The Blackmors, the Saidens, and the Aldwychs, in the past they got along but for some reason something happened between the families and they all hate each other now. The remaining Saidens on Earth want to get back to Aaru as much as Sevin does. So while Sevin and Brynn are searching for answers, the Saidens are searching for them.

I have to say that I did enjoy this book. It was filled with a lot of interesting plot twists that I will not tell you about because it will spoil the story for you. I liked the interaction between Bryann and Sevin. It never once felt forced and did feel like it was a natural progression in the story. Sevin is a protective Alpha but not in a “I'm going to control every aspect of your life because I want to control everything” kinda way. Sevin was more “I am really confused about my feeling for you so I am going to go in over protective mode because I want to keep you safe.”

There are a lot of interesting new characters in here who I like a lot. I can't tell you who they are because they are part of one of the plot twists I mentioned earlier but I can say that the girl is awesome and I look forward to reading more about her in the next book as well as the guy who is probably going to become her love interest.

I think that the only bad thing that I can say about this book is that it ended far too soon. I kept going, “I know there is more. I want to read more,” the closer I got to the end. The book does end at a good place where it ties up some lose ends but still leaves some open so you have some mystery in the last book.

Overall, I recommend this book. It's a great fantasy romance and will have you hooked until the end.

I didn't find this book to be as good as the first in the series. I'm not sure I bought into the relationship between Sevin and Brynn. Something about it just felt off. He was mostly a jerk in the first half of the book, then suddenly they're in love with one another. We were supposed to believe they were madly in love with one another during the second half, but it just wasn't working for me. I didn't like that the majority of the book took place on earth rather than this fantasy world Madison created in book one. I found myself really putting in effort just to get through the book. Now that I'm done, I think I need to take a break from the series and read something else before I'm able to complete the third book in this series. I really hope it's much better than this book
