Yikes. I really need to read this series starting from a few volumes ago to get back into the story properly. One of my issues with this series has always been the story itself. The art is gorgeous; the story is confusing. Having finished the prior volume quite some time ago, I found it very hard to get into the flow with this new volume (I was really lost)...

I don't know if I'm an idiot or not, but I have a hard time understanding what's happening sometimes. Like, panels are skipped or something. I don't know why I keep reading this either, but there's juuuuuuust enough in here to keep my interest piqued. PS: I am totally willing to accept that I'm an idiot.

And of course Soah becomes the contrived little thing that has to be won over by ALL the guys. So there emperor, with his uncanny likeness to the monster-in-law, suggests a dance competition between soah and ‘nakbin’. I mean wow. The dance was actually cutsie poses with no flow or rhythm to them. Honestly, even the detailed art around that scene looked strained and unauthentic. It didn’t manage to capture the emotion of the moment at ALL. Also, add sexist to the list of offences for this manhwa.

And so we find out that Habaek hadn’t lost his memories after all. He’s a smug bastard of a character but he’s kinda growing on me.

Oh and turns out that rin the Pegasus unicorn can take human form. Plus it is implied the real nakbin is actually alive.

This whole story is based on mui loving soah based on soah being a reincarnation of nabkin who is his first love who was actually a conniving witch with a b and it turns out soah is not a reincarnation of nabkin but still mui is falling for her so what does it say about habaek’s heart? Fickle, man.

At this point I’m like, yes, yes, been there, done that now MOVE OOOON!

The intrigue continues among the jealous gods. Habaek, the cursed water god, is being magically tricked and forced to deal with his emotions regarding his long lost love Nakbin. The emperor is enjoying the trauma and has also kidnapped Habaek's new human bride, Soah. Will Habaek remember the past and present correctly and fall in love with Soah again?

Beautiful artwork. The characters are hard to differentiate, but perfect for those who love the plots of the powerful.

That ending is just.. \(♥O♥)/ my nerve endings are so alive! First thing, I really like Hooye despite him being the Emperor's lapdog, and Bi Ryeom is so charming and I root for his feelings for Mura, then there's Mura's part in Habaek's plan which blew me away! And Habaek, who had me worried, then annoyed the hell out of me only to reveal that what he all did was planned. I know, I'm gushing and I'm unapologetic about it! XD

Confusing volume again, not sure exactly what is going on. The clothing and animal artwork ate especially gorgeous in this volume. I love the characters too but I'm so confused as to what is happening!

The art is gorgeous, but I had trouble remembering who everyone was and distinguishing what was happening. Time jumps are not notated well enough, and it was a little confusing. I started catching on near the end, but I definitely feel a bit lost when it comes to this story.

We finally find out what the Emperor did with Soah after kidnapping her. It's kind of unexpected that he seems to be treating her so well, but her personality seems to have changed. I wonder if he revealed something to her that made her change a little?

My interest in this story ebbs even lower. It’s gotten very confusing. If nothing else, a glossary would have helped because it’s very steeped in Korean lore and I’m sure if I could understand that better, this would be less confusing. It doesn’t help that while beautiful, the art isn’t as distinctive as it could be. I have issues telling some characters apart and there are a lot of characters.

Further muddying the waters is the fact that Habaek, the water god, has been drugged and lost all his memories and the emperor, his father, has convinced Habaek that Nakbin his first human (and dead) bride is back, leaving Soah (the current human bride) adrift. And even that isn’t all that it seems and Soah and Nakbin seem to compete and we have layers of court intrigue that left me feeling lost.

The story is becoming confusing and hard to follow. It frustrates me. I've also become bored with the slow story progression.

Spoilers below

And I'm annoyed that the bride and the water god are still not together.

The artwork is still breathtaking, and the surprises never seem to stop, ever!
I can't wait for the rest of the series to be released to I can finally, feebly put the pieces together of this million piece puzzle.

I don't find this series as satisfying as 'Fruits Basket', It's really hard to tell the different people apart, even the costumes seem to extend beyond where one character ends and the next begins. But I appreciate the work that went into them. And I have to see how the story turns out.

Though I really like this series, I didn't like this one very much. As I wrote before, I dislike Nakbin really much, and also this volume was mostly about her.
What was good baout this vomule is the end. I'm wondering now if Habaek/Mui is faking not remembering Soah!

This was an ok edition to the series but the two of the characters kept blurring together making it hard to know what was happening in some parts so I only gave it three stars...

While this series does provide a confusing plot that is what intrigues me. The book leaves me with more questions than I started with.
