Is talking about money hard for you educators or parents? Why not give the How Money Works Series a try!
In Your Money, the reader is reminded that we all need money for certain things. When we get money, we can do one of three things: spend it, save it, or give it away. When is the right time to do these things? Why do we need to do these? Why do I need a budget? All of these questions are answered at the level of the intended reader. The illustrations go very will with the short, detailed paragraphs. Perfect for late elementary and early middle grades to read and understand. This book is laid out to not overwhelm readers of this age group, nor does it feel like they are given overly simplified answers. The "Let's Discuss This!" section would be good for the middle grade students to do research on, to learn even more!
Thank you Norwood House Press and NetGalley for the digital ARC of this book, which made this honest review possible.

Lastele mõeldud rahateemaline raamat. Tekitas vastakaid tundeid.

This title of the “How Money Works” series discusses personal finances. Basically it introduces upper elementary and middle school students to the realities of responsible consumerism: how and why students spend their own money. Conversational text addresses aspects of earning, spending and saving money that young consumers seldom consider. It explains demand and savings accounts, earning interest, and charitable contributions. Short, simple paragraphs combined with graphs, charts and related illustrations make learning about finances more palatable and easy to understand. The format is engaging and even the most abstract principles of finance are explained simply. Back matter includes a bibliography, websites, glossary and index. The entire series is a must for any library or economics/social studies teacher. This title especially promotes fiscal responsibility and being a wise consumer.
