This wasn't bad for a free read. There were a few editing issues as seems par for the course with self-published books, but I've read worse (much worse).
The romance was sweet and steamy, full of sexual discovery and eye fucking.
I liked both MCs; even though Sean was closeted, he wasn't ashamed of his desires or being with Connor.
Unfortunately, the stalker/mystery plot, mildly interesting initially, took a dive into Cray Cray Territory at the end. The resolution just wasn't believable and made everyone involved with the investigation look like utter fools.
I am the biggest supporter of epilogues, but this one was OTT cheesy even for me. The last chapter was happy enough.

Ho sempre avuto un debole per gli sport romance soprattutto quelli ambientati al college; appena ne viene pubblicato uno, io vado in estasi. Quindi capirete che questa è una recensione sì obiettiva ma neanche troppo. Sean è il quarterback della squadra, il fenomeno del football, ha un futuro di successo in mano, tutti lo amano, le donne lo desiderano ma lui resta umile, quasi timido ma soprattutto rassegnato ad una vita dedicata solo allo sport; sogna l'amore, un compagno ma non riesce ad uscire dal suo armadio e probabilmente vi resterà sempre nascosto perché mai nessuno ha davvero attirato la sua attenzione, nessuno è stato così importante da far mettere in discussione il suo presente o il suo futuro. Connor è una guardia del corpo, ha chiuso il suo cuore all'amore; deluso e cinico sa che il vero amore è un'utopia e mai più permetterà a qualcuno di avvicinarsi abbastanza da spezzargli il cuore. Sean e Connor sono due ragazzi sostanzialmente soli e non veramente felici fino a quando non si incontrano e il colpo di fulmine è immediato, l'attrazione incontrollabile ma soprattutto l'affinità profonda metterà in dubbio le proprie condizioni e stravolgerà le loro vite. Lo stile dell'autore è molto lineare e semplice, la storia si evolve con diversi salti che fanno scorrere il tempo e descrivono la crescita del rapporto tra Sean e Connor; i loro sentimenti e l'evoluzione di essi sono il fulcro di tutta la storia, il legame immediato, il crollo delle reciproche resistenze e l'intimità così passionale e coinvolgente. Tutta l'attenzione è focalizzata sulla storia d'amore mettendo in secondo piano quello che li circonda: lo sport o le indagini sulla stalker. Io che amo la suspense ho risentito della scelta dell'autore di usare la situazione negativa della stalker solo come contorno senza approfondire molto se non ad un certo punto cruciale per la vita dei nostri ragazzi, ma dopotutto è un romance e non un suspense, quindi mi sono crogiolata nei loro sentimenti e nella passione, perché è veramente una storia molto dolce e romantica, rilassante e bella. È una storia con tanti sentimenti, i protagonisti nonostante i timori si aprono completamente l'uno all'atro, sono perfetti insieme e l'amore li guida in ogni scelta. Io che adoro gli epiloghi qui sono andata in estasi perché è fantastico, ha un grande significato e quindi ci vuole la menzione d'onore…

I liked the MCs. Both were sweet boys. I also liked the idea behind the plot. There are only 9 typos so I'm assuming it's been edited since the previous reviews were written. I really liked this line.
Their kiss felt like the cherry on top of a sundae made by God himself.But overall, the writing lacked subtlety. It was formulaic not only across the plot line but even from paragraph to paragraph.

Enjoyed this one, but oh, it's in dire need of an editor to tidy it up. Yes, it's a typical jock in the closet story, but the love between the two MC's is an almost tangible thing. The weirdo stalker was fairly easy to spot if you read carefully, and the ending was....well, I'll leave you to discover it. Nice one Max, but please get an editor sooner rather than later. ;)

Questo era ciò che Connor avrebbe giurato di aver trovato con il suo ex. Ma alla fine, tutto ciò che aveva ottenuto era una bugia."

Sean è il miglior Quarterback universitario del momento, è stato selezionato per giocare in NFL, e ormai rimangono poche partite prima che inizi la sua carriera come professionista. È un ragazzo molto positivo, uno bravo studente, ha scelto di studiare scienze politiche perché ama avere un piano alternativo nel caso qualcosa interrompesse la sua carriera sportiva. È adorato da tutte le ragazze della scuola, che però non hanno mai avuto sospetti sulla verità. Infatti Sean non ha detto mai, neppure al suo migliore amico Tim, di essere gay, e non perché si senta a disagio con la sua sessualità: sa perfettamente che i genitori lo appoggerebbero in ogni caso, ma sa altrettanto bene che nel football l’omofobia potrebbe stroncare la sua nascente carriera. Per questo è deciso a restare da solo, rimanendo nascosto e completamente dedito alla sua professione. Ma da qualche tempo è stato preso di mira da uno stalker che sembra avvicinarsi sempre più pericolosamente. Il desiderio di impedire che il suo miglior giocatore perda la concentrazione proprio nell’ultima parte del campionato, fa sì che l’allenatore prenda misure di emergenza, imponendogli una guardia del corpo. Connor Hawk non ama in modo particolare lo sport, è più abituato a proteggere attori, in più detesta il clima della Florida, ma trovandosi libero da altri impegni accetta l’incarico, anche perché l’idea di vedere bei ragazzi palestrati non gli dispiace affatto. Fin dal primo incontro, si rende conto che l’attrazione che sente per il suo bellissimo cliente, che crede sia etero, potrebbe rappresentare un grosso problema.
Pur facente parte di una serie, questo libro può essere un bel stand-alone, l’unica cosa che lo lega a “Ti copro io” è che il protagonista è il fratello di Connor, che qui rivedremo in un cammeo insieme al marito. Connor stesso era apparso in modo fuggevole nel primo capitolo, e in questo modo eravamo già a conoscenza del suo passato e di quello del fratello. Figli di un padre estremamente religioso, il coming-out di Connor lo aveva visto cacciato di casa e disconosciuto. Solo molto tempo dopo aveva ripreso i rapporti con il fratello, che per anni aveva nascosto le sue stesse inclinazioni. Connor nasconde dietro il corpo palestrato, e il suo duro lavoro, un animo romantico, ha creduto nell’amore e nel per sempre, ma l’uomo a cui aveva dato il cuore lo ha tradito. Ora intende avere solo avventure di una notte, incontri fugaci per cui non rischierà più di avere il cuore spezzato. Ma Sean, con la sua dolcezza e i suoi modi amichevoli, riesce a risvegliare in lui emozioni che credeva perdute. Per Sean incontrare Connor è una rivelazione, ha creduto che lo sport sarebbe bastato per rendere piena la sua vita, ma le sensazioni che la vicinanza della sua guardia del corpo gli fa provare mettono il tutto sotto una diversa luce. E mentre i due devono venire a patti con i loro sentimenti, lo stalker è sempre più vicino, sempre più intenzionato a possedere quello che ritiene l’uomo della sua vita: è disposto a tutto per averlo.
È una storia molto dolce quella fra Connor e Sean, nasce dall’amicizia che scatta subitanea fra di loro. Insieme si divertono, riescono a essere se stessi, si scoprono a poco a poco. Ma per entrambi è una decisione ben difficile da prendere, ognuno di loro rischia la carriera e tutto ciò che hanno costruito. Non mancheranno momenti difficili e decisioni sbagliate che rischieranno di separarli per sempre. I loro personaggi sono ben descritti, le scene passionali sono dolci e avvincenti. Forse l’unica pecca è proprio la parte suspense: non ha grandi momenti di azione, se non nella parte finale, colma di adrenalina. Tutto però si risolve forse troppo velocemente, e ci si accorge che non era poi così difficile intuire la vera natura dello stalker. Nonostante questo, è una lettura molto piacevole, i due protagonisti insieme sono dolcissimi, l’ultimo capitolo è incredibilmente tenero, e invita il lettore a proseguire questa serie davvero carina e ben scritta.

Firstly let me say that though this is the second book of the Series, it can be read totally as a standalone, so don’t worry if are are like me and haven’t read book 1 yet. We do have cameo roles from Tristan and Adrian (the two main MCs from the first book) because Adrian is Connor’s brother, one of the MCs from this storyline.
But let’s focus on the story.
Sean Drake is a college football player who is victim of a stalker. Since the episodes are getting worse and worse his coach decides to hire a bodyguard, Connor Hawk.
As I said Connor is Adrian’s brother and he flies from LA to Florida to protect Sean.
The attraction is immediate but Connor doesn’t pursue it because he believes that Sean is straight. Sean is indeed gay but deeply in the closet.
What begin as a work relationship soon grows into a friendship and then into something more.
Sean has always know he is into guys but he has never had a boyfriend or a relationship, he is a virgin. Conner has a closet full of skeletons, he was throw out of his house when he was a teen and his last relationship was very hurtful. Despite all of this they fall in love with each other, nothing seems too forced and I like the evolution of their relationship.
I like the interaction between the MCs and how the stalker side of the story added the mystery element. The author gave us a lot of potential stalkers but it’s not till the end that you really find out who it is.
It was a very enjoyable story, Max Walker has gained a new reader even if I have found the ending a little bit rushed, but the epilogue was the cherry on top.
Though a sports themed storyline, I’m happy to say that the football details certainly didn’t overshadow the storyline, so maybe if you are a die-hard fan of sport themed books you may be a little disappointed? For me, it was the perfect equal balance. Off to read book 1, I want to see how it all started.

Easy to read romance between the two perspectives of the protagonists, Sean and Connor. It was easy to differentiate between the two voices and both the boys' viewpoints were great to read about as both boys are generally likeable (and hot) characters.
All in all, I enjoyed this one. However, the side plots were majorly irrelevant at times with a lack of suspense, tension and angst. The subplot premise of Sean being looked after by Connor as his bodyguard was heavily dismissed as Connor didn't... actually do anything as a bodyguard?
There's a severe disconnect in what Connor says he will do as a bodyguard and his actions as a bodyguard. A lot of the time he 'says' things he will do as a bodyguard (eg. "I will keep my professional and personal life separate", but at the same time didn't resist Sean with much protest), it honestly didn't seem like he was doing a lot of protecting to me. In the book it was mentioned by the coach that he seemed that he hired a best friend rather than a bodyguard, well, that seemed accurate as it was the only thing Connor did really other than romancing Sean.
With Sean, there was a lack of football - I don't mind it too much but the football subplot was only there for the; 'oh hey Sean's team just won another match! WOWZERS! oh and they're going to Hawaii for another match so Sean and Connor can romance each other up some!'
Yeah..... Football was not even really a thing.
Then the stalker side plot - I honestly didn't even feel like it was much importance. Other than a couple of letters from the stalker which made Sean scared for a couple of lines like a jump scare in a horror movie, nothing really happened until the 'big reveal'. Plus the reasoning behind how the stalker got that far wasn't explored, and the stalker's endgame? Well, that was largely brushed over by Sean and Connor's OTT HEA.
Good read if you're looking for brainless HEA M/M romance with a lack of concern for subplots.

Dopo aver apprezzato il primo volume della serie, ero curiosa di leggere questo.
Mi piacciono le storie fra protetto e protettore, tanto più se è una guardia del corpo come Connor.
Devo però dire che, per mio gusto personale, mi ha catturato più la parte gialla del libro, quella della pazza stalker, cercando di capire chi fosse, più che la parte romance che mi è parsa troppo veloce e un po’ superficiale.
Ci sono comunque due bei protagonisti e tante occasioni hot. È stato bello ritrovare anche i precedenti protagonisti in un cameo delizioso e l’inattesa parentela.
Impeccabile la resa italiana. Nel complesso, il mio parere è comunque positivo.
Consigliato se amate i romance sportivi e hot, spruzzati di giallo.
Voto: 3.5 stelle.
Mi piacciono le storie fra protetto e protettore, tanto più se è una guardia del corpo come Connor.
Devo però dire che, per mio gusto personale, mi ha catturato più la parte gialla del libro, quella della pazza stalker, cercando di capire chi fosse, più che la parte romance che mi è parsa troppo veloce e un po’ superficiale.
Ci sono comunque due bei protagonisti e tante occasioni hot. È stato bello ritrovare anche i precedenti protagonisti in un cameo delizioso e l’inattesa parentela.
Impeccabile la resa italiana. Nel complesso, il mio parere è comunque positivo.
Consigliato se amate i romance sportivi e hot, spruzzati di giallo.

This was better than the first book - a sweet sport romance. While there was a crazy stalker, I didn’t really buy it - guess I don’t get as emotionally invested in these characters. A nice easy read

I got it free on Amazon with Kindle Unlimited, so the price was right.
The good:
*The MCs were nice. Both of them are likeable and enough 'time', situations and dialogue happen to make their connection credible.
*I'm happy to report that this book has a top and bottom first timer. The author doesn't disappoint here. Steamy scenes.
*A HEA ending. Some Velvetta to be found in the Epilogue, but I'm not one to complain when a couple find their happiness.
*The cover. That Connor is pretty hot (although he doesn't match the character description).
The bad:
*The stalker/mystery plot. If we are going to have one, it better be more believable... I found myself rolling my eyes more than a few times over it. We are talking about a stalker that brings a bloody alligator tail with her all the way from FL to Hawaii. If that's not a dedicated stalker, I don't know what that is. We are also talking about some useless cops, an incompetent private eye and a lot of half witted people that cannot add two and two together.
*Bad jokes. These two were laughing to tears over 'jokes' that didn't even bring a smile to my face. I guess we can blame that to the amazing chemistry they have.

Another enjoyable romance in this series
I think I preferred this one to the first book in the series probably because while the stalker element of the tale was again just a little bit whacky, there was more of a slow burn build up in the relationship between the MCs.
The sex scenes were well done with emotional connection not just thrown in for the hell of it and the epilogue, while a tad cheesy, still carried an important message about being true to yourself and love always winning.

this was a nice story and a good read but there were a few things that were a bit difficult for me
first the love at first sight thing. that can work but not always and although they had to work for it, it was a bit too much
second, in the middle of was a but too sappy for me. don't get me wrong I like a good romance but this was a bit much
third the ending was rushed but I loved the epilogue
nevertheless I liked the characters and it was a nice read. maybe I will read the first book as well

Thoroughly enjoyable, fun, sweet, sexy read. Yes there was sex, sex, sex but the two MC clicked and were friends first, even if there was an underlying chemistry from the get go.

Bentrovate Smeralde oggi vi parlo del secondo capitolo della serie the Guardian. I protagonisti di questa storia sono Sean e Connor.
Sean è un giovane universitario iscritto alla facoltà di scienze politiche e quaterback promettente della squadra della sua università. E’ stato selezionato per entrare a far parte come professionista della NFL. Ragazzo pragmatico, molto dedito allo sport ma è anche conscio del fatto che la carriera sportiva potrebbe interrompersi, e quindi deve pensare al suo futuro creandosi il famoso piano B. Omosessuale, ma non dichiarato perché il mondo dello sport è bigotto, ritiene che questa cosa possa intaccare e disturbare la sua carriera, vive quindi la sua intera esistenza diviso tra studio e sport, convinto che nel suo futuro non ci possa essere una famiglia e un compagno. Connor è decisamente l’opposto, è gay dichiarato vive la sua sessualità in maniera aperta, ha alle spalle una famiglia che lo ha sbattuto fuori di casa quando era molto giovane per colpa delle sue preferenze sessuali e una storia d’amore fallita a causa di un tradimento. Ma tutto questo non lo porta ad essere disilluso sull’amore, vive con la speranza che un giorno molto lontano potrà crearsi una famiglia anche se al momento è molto libertino. I due si incontrano perché Connor è una guardia del corpo ed è stato assunto per proteggere Sean dalle minacce che sta ricevendo da una stolker. Non ama particolarmente lo sport e nemmeno il clima della Florida, dove si è dovuto trasferire, ma la prospettiva di lavorare gli fa accettare l’incarico.
Già dal primo momento tra i due scatta una scintilla, una forte intesa e attrazione che smuove tra loro forti emozioni e sentimenti. Il loro rapporto nasce come una forte amicizia, ma ben presto si trasforma, portando entrambi a provare qualcosa di inaspettato. Per Sean l’incontro con Connor è stato una rivelazione, gli ha fatto capire che non c’è e non deve esserci solo lo sport, scopre nuove forti emozioni e sensazioni che ha sempre celato anche a se stesso. Connor invece abituato a notti di sesso senza impegno si ritrova a riaprire il proprio cuore e deve cominciare a fidarsi anche se non è facile visto la batosta che ha subito. La complicità e gli sguardi rubati diventano un’unione unica di amore e sesso, ma a questo Idilio si aggiunge il fatto che c’è un pericolo in agguato e Sean sarà messo di fronte ad un ricatto. Riuscirà a rinunciare all’uomo che ama e alla carriera che si è costruito?
Non amo particolarmente lo sport romance, perché solitamente si cade nei soliti cliché, e spesso trovo le storie alquanto ripetitive. In questo caso mi devo ricredere, è stata una storia che mi ha piacevolmente sorpresa.
Il libro è scritto in maniera fluida e scorrevole, i pov alternati mi hanno permesso di conoscere i protagonisti, e grazie alla scrittura introspettiva ho captato ogni loro emozione. Nonostante Sean e Connor siano due persone dai caratteri ben descritti e delineati hanno di fondo un unico filo conduttore: la voglia di crearsi una famiglia e trovare qualcuno da amare. Ho apprezzato molto l’evoluzione e la crescita che hanno i personaggi perché se da una parte Sean matura e finalmente capisce chi e cosa vuole essere nella vita, Connor ritrova la forza di amare e di aprire nuovamente il proprio cuore. Non è un libro dai forti colpi di scena se non nella parte finale del libro, ritengo però che l’epilogo sia stato un tantino frettoloso. Nonostante questa mia ultima perplessità è una lettura che consiglio. Rimango ora con la curiosità di proseguire con gli altri capitoli della serie, che spero di poter leggere a breve.

Il mio rapporto di odio/amore con Max Walker continua. Questa volta la lancetta è diretta completamente verso l'amore. Ho ADORATO questo libro. Certo, non è esente da pecche, altrimenti gli avrei dato cinque stelle, ma l'atmosfera generale l'ho apprezzata tantissimo.
Si tratta pur sempre di un romance, quindi le vicende amorose sono il fulcro della storia. Seppur i sentimenti si siano evoluti in modo un po' frettoloso (ho notato che è una cosa ricorrente nei libri dell'autore), sono riuscito a godermi il libro comunque. Stile scorrevole, a volte un tantino ripetitivo, ma sono disposto a chiudere un occhio per Connor e Sean. Raramente mi prendo delle sbandate per i personaggi di un libro, ma questa volta è successo. Ho letteralmente amato i protagonisti. E le scene intime! Caspita! Si percepisce che siano state scritte da un uomo gay che sa perfettamente di cosa parla.
La parte crime è un po' scontata, devo ammetterlo (avevo capito chi fosse la stalker non appena è stato presentato il suo personaggio), ma non per questo meno intrigante. A parte le infinite, bollenti scene zozze fra i due protagonisti (stavo andando a fuoco, in senso buono), sono rimasto incollato alle pagine per vedere che fine avrebbe fatto la pazza squilibrata.
Un bel centro da parte di Max. Lo posso aggiungere ai pochi libri che quest'anno mi son piaciuti.

Just OK
The premise here was really interesting but the execution was flawed. Once again editing is a real issue and that detracts from the enjoyment of the book. There are story gaps which were unnecessary if the author had had a long term plan (timing, cohesion with previous book) and the basis for the characters getting together is implausible. Add on to that that Connor has to be the worst bodyguard in history and his "elite" agency must suck given the set up and working conditions and the whole thing just falls flat. It wasn't too difficult to figure out who the villain was once she was introduced though the initial red herrings were pretty well done.
After reading the first two books I'm trying to decide if the author just doesn't do research or figures it doesn't matter and is taking literary license. Or maybe just doesn't care about some semblance of accuracy/reality? Either way, as a reader, that is problematic for me. I know it's fiction but I still want my fictional world to parallel, as closely as possible, reality. It makes the story more enjoyable. I appreciate an author who puts the work in to make that happen. Thus far that does not seem to be the case with this author.

✔ Letto! Questa volta conoscerò la storia di quel figlio cacciato di casa con il fucile puntato contro dopo il suo coming out. Connor mi ha raccontato di come sia riuscito a sopravvivere dalla età di 15 anni e poi a perdonare il suo fratello minore e la sua mamma per averlo abbandonato. E di come la sua zia si sia preso cura di lui sapendo che abitava per strada.
Connor Hawk ha saputo prendersene cura di sé e adesso con il suo lavoro molto ben pagato prottege le persone ed è così che conoscerà la stella del futebol americano Sean Drake. Vittima di una stalker che stava chiaramente diventano più agressiva e audace. Sean è consapevole di essere gay, ma chiuso nell'armadio fino al suo ingresso nei NFL. E sicuro che non ha un motivo valido per fare coming out prima di questo, perché sicuro che non troverà mai nessuno da amare. Illuso😆. Finché conosce Connor.
Un libro molto dolce, scritto e sviluppato molto meglio del primo e con personaggi forti che da quando si conoscono sanno quello che vogliono e cosa sono disposti a fare pur di restarne insiemi.

Sono fatta così, leggo la trama di un libro, capisco che è uno sport romance, che come protagonista ha un atleta all’apice del successo, e una guardia del corpo che gli viene affidata per proteggerlo in una situazione molto delicata, un amore che già di per se fa battere il mio cuore di aspettativa ed ecco che in un giorno divoro un libro che non posso far altro che consigliarvi.
“Il primo down” è davvero un bel libro, di quelli che ti permettono di sognare immaginando due uomini che si scrutano inizialmente, per poi conoscersi e arrendersi all’evidenza di un sentimento che non può far altro che renderli vivi e liberi, contro tutti i pregiudizi, i preconcetti di una società che li vorrebbe stereotipati, ma che, per fortuna, non li avrà mai come stupidamente li immagina.

I have not read a Max Walker book I haven't enjoyed immensely and First Down is no exception! Loved the plot, loved the characters, loved the chemistry between Sean and Connor and most importantly I loved that this story could be a real life one, everyday people and everyday problems!

Un piccolo gioiellino <3
Sean è un quarterback non dichiarato, si sa che nel mondo dello sport è sempre difficile poter dichiarare la propria omosessualità. Connor è una guardia del corpo, lui è gay dichiarato ma ha chiuso il suo cuore dopo la reazione dei suoi genitori e l'esperienza con il suo ex. Sean è alle prese con una stalker ed è per questo che verrà chiamato Connor. Ho adorato la naturalezza del loro rapporto, la loro complicità come se si conoscessero da tempo. Era evidente la tensione sessuale ed è stato bellissimo leggere di loro due. Dolcissimi e sensuali allo stesso tempo. Veramente bellissimo. P.S. La cover è fantastica <3

Football, carriera o amore
Un giocatore di football, quarterback ed elemento importante della squadra, una fan ossessiva, che lo considera suo, danno il via al libro, con una guardia del corpo ad arricchire gli eventi.
Mi è piaciuta la sintonia tra Sean e Connor, evidente già dal primo incontro, e come il rapporto tra loro si sviluppi pian piano. Nonostante la stalker, la storia non presenta molta tensione, a parte il momento clou molto intenso. Ho trovato Connor diverso da come me lo ero immaginato nel primo libro, muscoloso e rude, ho apprezzato la sua dolcezza e come scherza e ride con Sean.

This 2nd book was the one I liked most of the trilogy(at least for now there are 3 books). Sean and Connor were cute together and also when they fought, they didnt leave years or weeks pass before they decided to talk again, bcs they were in love and couldnt stay away.
Connor is Adrian's brother, we saw him in the first book at Adrian and Tristan's wedding. Connor didnt have an happy life, like we know, his father was an asshole and first he tried to pray the gay out of him and then he pointed a gun to his face and kicked him out of the house. Luckily Connor had his aunt who took him in and gave him all the love his parents didnt have for him. When the story starts Connor is having a bad time. He saw his boyfriend of 2 years cheat on him on their bed and he is starting to believe that he will never fall in love again. He thinks that doing nameless twinks in the bars' bathroom is all he can have. On the first pages, we see him having sex with a random dude in a bathroom. I dont usally like to read about one of the MCs beind with someone else, but at least all this happens before he meets Sean.
Connor doesnt kiss his partners, he doesnt search for love, he just wants to stop thinking, for some minutes or hours, about all that he is missing in his life, something that his brother found with his husband Tristan.
When his boss asks him to go work in Florida as a bodyguard for a famous football player, he is happy to accept. Maybe there he will find someone new that will help him pass the time when he is not working.
Sean is 22 and an awesome quarterback, he is the star of his team, but he has a big secret. He is gay and no one, not even his best friend, knows it. Sean is scared of losing his job, and for this reason he never followed his desire for the same sex. One time he tried to have sex with a girl, but he hadnt liked it and soon after he had decided to stop dating. The stalker is still hiding her face, but she doesnt stop harrassing Sean with gifts, notes and rose petals on the bed. She is really creepy and annoying and not even when I found out that the girl had PTSD, from the time she had been raped when younger, I pitied her, bcs a lot of people suffer but not all become crazy assholes. She was a damn bitch and almost broke them up with her threats of showing the video where Sean was giving for the first time in his life a bj to another man, to Connor, to the press.
The scene where Connor and Sean make love for the first time was sweet and romantic and when later in the book Sean will be on top, we see how hot they can be together.
I liked them, and also if sometime I thought that Connor wasnt really paying attention to his job, bcs the stalker was a bit obvious, a still liked the story.
There was a lot of angst, from the start till the end, but the worst part was when the stalker girl, sends them the video and tells Sean to break up with Connor or she will make the video public.
Sean doesnt know what to do, he loves Connor and he doesnt want to leave him, but he cant lose his job not when he is so near to be accepted in NFL, and he is sure the girl is spying them and can hear what they are saying or doing. Sean wants to come out when he is in the NFL, but not before, and he wants Connor with him, but now he doesnt have another option.
Connor and him fight and they break up. Connor leaves the room and turns off his phone. He runs aways from the hotel and doesnt stop till he reaches his room and then starts crying. He lost the only man he has ever loved, bcs he now is sure that what he had felt with his ex-boyfriend hadnt been true love.
While Connor is crying and still angry in his room, we see the stalker drung Sean. When he wakes up, he is tied to the bed and almost naked, that crazy girl wants Connor to see them together while they have sex. Luckily nothing happens, only a forced kiss the girl is able to take from Sean, but with Connor's help, lured back to Sean's room with a fake sms, they are able to stop that bitch, that was none other than the coach's daughter with that sad past I told you about before.
In the last pages of the book, we see Sean coming out to his team, before their last match, and then winning the game. Sure, not all the guys accept the fact that he is gay but most of them dont care about his sexuality, but only about the fact that he is a good guy and an awesome player.
In the epilogue we see them some years later. Sean is in the NFL and now married with Connor. They have a son, Colton that is 5 years old, and they are celebrating the fact that Sean won an award.
I liked this couple more than the other 2, (book 1 and book 3), and maybe the initial scene with that twink wasnt of my liking, but in the end all went well.
This 2nd book was the one I liked most of the trilogy(at least for now there are 3 books). Sean and Connor were cute together and also when they fought, they didnt leave years or weeks pass before they decided to talk again, bcs they were in love and couldnt stay away.
Connor is Adrian's brother, we saw him in the first book at Adrian and Tristan's wedding. Connor didnt have an happy life, like we know, his father was an asshole and first he tried to pray the gay out of him and then he pointed a gun to his face and kicked him out of the house. Luckily Connor had his aunt who took him in and gave him all the love his parents didnt have for him. When the story starts Connor is having a bad time. He saw his boyfriend of 2 years cheat on him on their bed and he is starting to believe that he will never fall in love again. He thinks that doing nameless twinks in the bars' bathroom is all he can have. On the first pages, we see him having sex with a random dude in a bathroom. I dont usally like to read about one of the MCs beind with someone else, but at least all this happens before he meets Sean.

Stunning read
I read the first book in the series and then bought the rest of the series … something I never do … and I am so glad I did beautiful story .. well written excellent and believable characters … maybe a bit too toned .. doesn’t anyone write about guys without six packs .. lol … kidding .. well kinda .. who doesn’t love a hot bod right … novels are fantasies after all … loved the book and can’t wait to read the next one!

Questo romanzo non è malaccio ma francamente la parte iniziale della conoscenza e del l’innamoramento è quasi inesistente, si conoscono e nel giro di un attimo si amano appassionatamente. Se l’autore avesse aggiunto un po’ più di pagine descrivendo come è sbocciato il sentimento penso che quattro stelline ci sarebbero state tutte.

This is my second book by Walker, and my feelings about his writing have not changed. I just don't enjoy his writing style nor his choice of wording. Juvenile and overly dramatic are descriptors that come to mind. Maybe this is just considering the age of the MCs, but it just doesn't work for me.

I'm not really a fan of closeted characters and I only continued this series because I liked the authors other works and I always love a good mystery. I just couldn't get into this book and I didn't really like the characters
