what a amazing debut! This story had me drawn in from the very beginning. Here there is Hadlea (Lea) moving away to a new location with some deep dark secrets from her past. One stumbles up on her.. and there is a immediate connection to her. Does One ever break through Lea ' s heart and get her to fully open up to him. This story was full of emotions, twists, and angst. It kept me reading, needing to find out who and what was going to happen. This is definitely a must read!
AMAZING! That's one word to describe Luxx's debut novel! I'm still reveling in the characters and their stories. ♡
Superbly written. Characters that made me love, cry, melt, giggle, smirk, grin, laugh out loud, angry, proud and a rollercoaster of other emotions.
It took me two days to read the book. I couldn't put it down all day long. My nose was stuck in my Nook. I killed the battery twice. Haha.
There is no lack of character development in this book. You get to know the characters especially Lea aka Hadlea and One aka Malone and their family members. I fell in love with Elise. I inspire to be like her when I'm older. Descriptive and the plot embodied my thoughts from page one to the end of the epilogue.
I personally couldn't ask for anything more with a book. It was amazing throughout and held my attention constantly. When the characters struggled; I felt it. Their emotions; I felt it. Their heartbreak and strife; I felt it. Although I couldn't imagine going through any of it and have never experienced what Lea went through. I'm glad she found her knight and her family was immersed in love.
I can't wait to learn more about their families and the next story. ♡
I thought this book would never end. It was the same back and forth, over and over and over and over... When I FINALLY reached the end, I couldn't believe to find it was less than 300 pages. It was an absolute waste of my life. I could have been scrubbing grout.
This may seem pretty, but even the names of the characters were annoying. Some of them were just stupid. Okay, a lot of them were. To find that One's name was derived from Malone was a bigger surprise than any other part of this book. It was also moronic.
I've often read reviews indicating the female protagonist is Too Stupid to Live. Hadlea truly fit that description. I've never been so truly repulsed by such an asinine excuse for a woman. She is the biggest example of TSTL I've ever come across. Ever.
Loved this amazing book by new author Leaona Luxx! So down to earth that it's easy to relate to. Lea and One are two every day people that have been burnt in the past but fight for an unbelievable love that they both deserve. Love all of the characters and the close family atmosphere that bring it all together. Great work, Leaona! I can't wait for the next book in this series! I am definitely a fan!
Let me just start off with WOW! This is a debut book for Leaona Luxx and it was just incredible. We are taken on a roller coaster ride with Lea and One and it has it all the gasps and all. Took me a few days to read but in my defense it was 4th of July weekend otherwise I would of never put my book down. You will absolutely not be disappointed in this book at all. Can't wait to get more reads from this woman.
It took me a while to finish it (more than I'm used to) because I'm between midterms and timing sucks.
Well, what can I say? this is Leaona's debut and I can definitely say that I loved it. I really did, because it was something I wasn't expecting. I expected an usual book of love and second chances, but this book? This book it's beyond usual. While I was reading Cherry Grove, I was talking to her and I said to her that since it started I couldn't stop saying "OH MY GOD, WHAT THE FUCK?" or "NO WAAAAAAAAAY! REALLY?!?!?", and it's true, it keeps surprising you until the end. Lea & One are perfect, but I will admit that I wanted to punch her in the face a few times...
It was an amazing debut, of course some things could be polished a bit, but I'm sure Leaona will surprise us again and again with her next book, because I have all my faith in her.
** ARC given by author in exchange of honest review**
I finished this book a few days ago, reading this sneaking in between work and babysitting, so it took longer to read and put my review up. But I was actually dreading the end too so I read slower-ly. I DIDN'T want it to end!! Leaona brought me to her world, One and Lea's world in Cherry Grove. I lost in their story, the book. I felt so emotional during reading it. It was such a roller coaster emotions. This is definitely would not be the last book I read by her. Well done on your debut Leaona!! It's worth 5-star read. Grab your copy now peeps xx
I fell in love with Cherry Grove, Hadlea and Malone. This is an emotional journey as Lea moves on from a tragic past to start new. It is Cherry Grove that is calling her and the moment she meets One it is an instant pull. So, when her past comes to find her One knows that he will do whatever it takes to protect her. This was an emotional, heartwarming journey filled with angst, twists turns and new love. Love Leaona's characters and their world. ~~Michele McMullen ~~
This story is one where two people fall immediately in love at first sight. Then throughout the story they keep breaking up and getting back together for the most insane reasons, I mean throughout the whole book. I repeatedly had to find my place in the book for all the times I rolled my eyes at how ridiculous these characters were acting.
To me, love at fist sight is hard to believe normally but with this character's personality and her continually pushing him away, I just really don't understand how anyone would put in so much effort to try and hold on to this relationship, especially when they just met one another. Hadlea (Lea) is continually pushing away Malone (One). She is a gigantic emotional mess. I couldn't understand how anyone could unconditionally fall in love with a character so obviously broken.
Hadlea is completely damage and weak minded. She continually see's herself as unable to be loved or to offer a worthy love in return. She wallows in her own self worthless. I don't understand how someone as strong and independent as One could love and fight for a relationship with someone so weak and self deprecating and with so much self loathing.
I also don't understand how a woman who allows her ex to walk all over her, physically and verbally abuse her to then grow a pair of balls and is able to stand up for herself in other situations. Like spewing verbal assaults at people that even the most self assured person wouldn't even think to say to someone's face.
The story was told with different perspectives one from Hadlea and also from One. They took turns describing their thoughts and emotions for the same scene. So you heard about the same situation twice from different people. That was a bit repetitive for me.
Ok, so forget about the pitiful weakness and the instant love connection, the repetition and the fact that every character has some crazy unique name and in between it all there is a great writing style.
I enjoyed that Leaona does write a lot of very hot sex scenes and you see a strong bond with family. She also writes smartly and her wording is very visual and cleverly worded.
In her acknowledgements we discover this is her story, that Leaona lives this story with the same very struggles. I admire her being able to tell her story, I just sadly wish it wasn't so back and forth and then everything seemed so rushed at the end.

What a ride Cherry Grove is! It is so full of angst with twist & turns I tried hard to figure out. I love that One & Hadlea are in their 30's and have both lived lives before finding each other. As much as their past is determined to keep them apart, their love seems more determined to bring them together.
Cherry Grove is wonderfully written and so not what you might expect. It is not a book for someone that wants a simple clean romance. It is a deep, heart wrenching story that will make you wonder just how much a soul can handle. But in the end, is anything worth having easy to get?
This was a wonderful debut book by Leaona Luxx. I absolutely loved this book and already want to go back and read it again. It kept my attention from the very beginning and was full of different emotions. I'm looking forward to reading more books from this series in the future!
Good grief, this book have everything PLUS the kitchen sink thrown in. At first Cherry Grove grated on my nerves with these characters, however they did start to grow on me towards the end. I loved the name One (which is actually a bit of a nickname), but some of the other character names came across to me as pretentious. It felt as if the author was trying too hard to find different names and I found it a bit distracting.
One is well known in his small town. He has been divorced from his wife for ten years and after her, hasn't been looking to fill those shoes. This b-word really did a number on him and he doesn't trust women as easily anymore. He meets Lea when she needs some renovations done on her newly acquired property and wants to know more about the beautiful stranger.
It is love at first sight for these two, which I am also not a fan of, however it worked. Lea is always trying to get away from her past, even though it always seems to know exactly where she is. A mother to three boys, Lea is satisfied with her life, not looking for a man at the moment. She also has major trust issues. along with a slew of other emotional problems.
So Lea and One decide to make a go of things and buckle up, as this ride gets crazier and crazier. Every chapter involves crying and at least one visit to the hospital. With the baggage Lea has, it's impossible for her to be in any sort of normal relationship. She doesn't feel that she's worthy of love and is constantly throwing it back at One.
Now I'm all for an angsty read, however this was too much. Like I said, any awful situation you could think of happened to this couple. While I was glad they kept working things out, it got harder and harder to fathom as the pages went on.
The book was well written from dual points of view. I didn't love it, yet didn't hate it. Even writing this review I'm still thinking about all that went down with this couple and how I feel about it.
This is Leaona's debut book. My hat's off to you! You have bared your soul to the world with this book. You can tell from the writing, that this story comes from a deep emotional place within Leaona and it is a story that will resonate with you. This story is gritty, real and raw.
Hadlea (Lea) is a strong and sassy yet emotionally vulnerable woman. You can see and feel the emotional scars she carries. She is strong because there are factors in her life that have forced her to be. She is the kind of woman that would never let anyone dictate how she was to live her life. Hadlea is stubborn, but once you realize what she's been through, you get it, you understand and you can even empathize with her. She has only witnessed love from a parent child relationship and her experience of love in a man and woman's relationship has been seriously tainted by her past. Hadlea does not believe she is worthy of a good man's love.
Thankfully Malone (One) is just as stubborn and pigheaded as she is. Not to mention his determination and persistence to show Hadlea otherwise! You can tell that man adores her and is willing to just love her...good, bad, crazy and all! How could you not love a man like that?!
There are many twists and turns to the story that keep you on your toes and keep you guessing, just what the hell else is going to happen to stand in their way?! This was a great read and I'm looking forward to more of Leaona's work.
Leaona Luxx is the second new Author in a row that I have read. I must be lucky because both have hit it out of the park. Leaona Luxx has written a fantastic book, it grabbed my heart on the first page and still has it. This is a book that I will recommend to everyone I know. I saw so many women I know in Lea or Lea in so many women I know including myself. The situations with Cole were so familiar to me and the not call the police I so get that. My emotions were so up and down just all over the place while I read this story. This is one of the first books in a very long time that brought tears to my eyes. I fell in love with Lea Llyod and her sons, I wanted to reach in and give her strength when she weakened and just take care of her. I wanted on more than one occasion to reach in and slap one upside the head, when he would just walk away instead of staying and fighting. Sometimes men are such idiots. I cheered everytime they overcame an obstacle thrown at them and my heart fell into my stomach every time someone threw something else in their way, just kept thinking what is next? I recommend this book to everyone. Yes there is some sex but this book and story are about a lot more then a tumble in bed, the sex is just part of the story and on the light side. a very
This was a debut novel, and I have to say, this author has grown immensely as a writer since this first book, as I just finished reader her sixth book. Apparently, all of her stories are interwoven, and I thought I would go back to the beginning, and get to know some of her side characters’, back stories.
Ok, so this story was pretty much chalk full of OTT drama. When the MC’s where actually together, their happiness didn’t seem to last long.
Hadlea...aka Lea, had a rough life to say the very least. She seemed to know how to love just fine, but allowing someone to love her back, was almost an impossibility. By the end of the book, I was left frustrated by this fact, as I don’t think I’ve ever read so much back and fourth with, such a decision.
I really liked One...and what a nickname derived from: Brady Malone Woods! He almost achieved saint status with me, by the end of this book with putting up with Hadlea’s, back and fourth like he did.
Honestly, I’m glad I read WRECKING US SAVING YOU, first, as I don’t know if I would have been as invested to continue onto the next book. So glad this was the case:)
This was the first book I've read by this author, and it certainly won't be the last. This was the authors début novel, and it was a really good story, with plenty of twists and turns along the way. I will admit at the beginning I really didn't like Hadlea much, because she was so....frustrating. But, as the story grew, and we got to know more abut her and her past, it had me softening to her. Malone, I loved. He was perfectly imperfect. This couple have had a rough ride and even up until the end it was touch and go for them. I'm glad it got the end it did, because it was good to see the happy outcome. Now, although I knew who was causing the bother for this couple early in the book, it didn't take anything away from the story. I loved the secondary characters in this book from Hadlea's sons, to Malone's sister Thea. I did laugh at few scenes where his sister made herself known. If you like a romance story with some suspense mixed in, then this book is for you. Just be prepared to feel every bit of Malone's frustration throughout the book, because Hadlea is a stubborn woman.
The blurb and the cover of the book are what called me to read this book. But as soon as I started the book I got a bit bored due to the HEAVY descriptions. Leaonna changed all that right as Hadlea (Lea) and Malone (One) meet. They have an instant connection and even though I am not a big fan of love at first sight, this book was so beautifully written that I was hooked and didn't mind that at all. Yes, I kind of wanted to shake Lea at times and scream at her. But I kind of understood what she was going through. All the hardships she had to face made her out to be such a strong female lead. One was honestly the best thing about the book. In the beginning his alpha nature kind of annoyed me, but as the story continued you can tell how much he cares about Lea. (So jealous) He never gives up on their love no matter what is thrown in the way of their relationship. This was a great book, specially for a debut author. Leaonna Luxx is a genius. Can't wait for the second part.
This was such an amazing debut novel. It was so full of emotion it was incredible! Some parts where hard to read but also very empowering. This is the story of Lea and One, this is no easy romance. They struggle a lot through emotional and physical issues Lea has from her past. They are also faced with an unknown issue working against them. Some may think Lea is weak and all over but I see her totally different. She is a force to be reckoned with, she will do anything to protect those she loves whole putting on a face and putting her own needs behind everyone else's. She is fierce, strong, smart, witty and much more! One is an amazing character. Sometimes like all men he struggles with the issues Lea has but all around he is supportive and very protective of Lea. This book is amazing. I highly recommend it to readers. Keep an open mind and I am certain you will not be disappointed!
Leaona Luxx is a new to me author and I will be keeping her. This book is raw, emotionally, physically and mentally. The anguish and turmoil bestowed upon the main female character, Lea, is heartfelt and portrayed accurately. To have suffered so much terror and still have protected her children from it shows just how strong and determined a mother she is.
This story will have you cursing out the bad guy and there is even a plot twist that you think will go one way and goes another.
I have had to sit back and replay the story, shaking my head and wondering how on earth anyone can survive what she has gone through. *********** ************ This is definitely an eye opening experience, not for everyone and will pull at your soul, not just your heart~
Let me start by saying Leaona Luxx is a new TBR author for me.
This book hit all the areas a romance could go it was gritty, dark, heavy, sweet, beautiful and plenty of twists and turns to the plot.
Cherry Grove follows Hadlea (Lea) and Malone (One). I absolutely loved how these characters were developed and explored. Their relationship and their pasts were explored so much that by the end you were praying for a great outcome. Their family (definitely not families) were nice again well developed and explored, without taking away from the main story. All the characters involved pulled at your heartstrings, made you laugh and definitely made you cry and want to scream. I loved them all and would definitely love to read more about the siblings and children.
This Leaona's debut book and what a debut it was! Iabsolutely love this book. Hadlea (Lea) has just moved into a new area to escape her past. One stumbles upon on the beach and can't help but feel the instant attraction to her. When her past catches up to her and One's ex won't let him go, he will do anything to protect her both.
Leaona has wowed me with this book and it was so amazing I couldn't put it down. I'm excited to read more books from this series! I highly recommend this series and the author to everyone.
Wow... I had no idea this was Leaona Luxx's first book! It is an amazing storyline.. It kept me on my toes all the way through, I needed to know what happened!! The ending.. Just WOW!!!! I am so looking forward to reading more by Leaona!! I honestly don't think her writing could get any better. Malone/one is HOT!! He is so sweet!! I want one!!! This book will bring out every emotion, you'll be laughing, crying, smiling, shouting! I was hooked from the first page. I love all the characters, the plot.. Everything! Cherry Grove is most definitely deserving of 5 stars! A Must Read! #2OCCAB
When Lea and One meet there is an instant pull to eachother. As much as they want to be together, the demons from the past are a constant obstacle. Especially for Lea who truly believes she is not worthy of love. Even though One is trying to prove it over and over again. Will they find happiness in the end? Only way to find out is to read this enticing story. It will rip you apart and suck you in until the end.
When you love someone, it doesn't matter how many battle you need to fight to win and to obtain what you deserve. Lea independent with many secrets. Scare to let the door open but willing to try. Until she finds her soulmate that may help her find herself again. Her doubts and unable to trust.
Leaona you did an Amazing job writing this story. Love each character but my favorite was Malone. He never give up for what he wants. Strong, romantic and gentleman all way
Loved this book. From the very beginning I was hooked. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good love story. My only issue, which is more of a personal preference, is at some times Lea just annoyed me. I understand her past sucks, but sometimes I wanted to just shake her!
I don't even know where to start with this review. No spoilers here.
I loved this book.... I loved everything about it. It's such a good story and in all reality I couldn't put it down. Sometimes it's hard to be loved if you don't know what love is. This is the story of finding love and learning that you are worth it. Have a read you won't be sorry
Cherry Grove was an awesome book!! Leaona Luxx's debut novel was wonderful. I fell in love with the story and characters. Hadlea and Malones love story was intertwined with so many, many obstacles and they overcame every one of them. I highly recommend this book. Look forward to many more of Leaona's books.
