I missed the "Butler Cove" gang so much....
I admit that it took me long to warm towards Joey, I just can't get why Jazz was so hung up on him. Getting things from his POV sure helped me a lot to understand why he acted like such a douche...

I really can't wait for the 5th book to come out...

This is not a standalone. This short story are some scenes from All that Jazz told from Joey’s point of view. I missed Joey’s thoughts in All That Jazz, so I was so happy that the author decided to write this. I loved knowing what Joey thought and felt during some of the most important parts of his life. I of course would have loved more! I highly recommend this if you have loved All That Jazz.

Oggi ho finito di leggere "L'estate degli amori imprevisti - All That Jazz" e come previsto... me ne sono innamorata.

This is a 74 page short from the author told from Joey's point of view from the day of Jazz's eighteenth birthday and a small amount from the present day to why he moved back home.

We get to see how Joey's truly feels about Jazz and the deep regret and emotion that he feels not only about her, but about how he handles the situation between them. It is certainly worth reading, but only after you have read All That Jazz.

I love this series and this author. It has been a while since I read All that Jazz, but reading Joey's words brought it all right back. I always love a story when I can get the thoughts of both members of the couple. And it never ceases to amaze me how lack of communication can place couples in the most turmoil. This is a sweet short, and ends just as Joey makes the decision to head home to make things right. Thank you Natasha for this sweet little gift.

I did read this special story from Joey‘s POV that Natasha sent out with her email subscription. I would’ve liked a few chapters in his point of view later in the book, more in the present but his POV did explain a lot of his actions. I hate that he didn’t realize what his actions did the last time he was with her, even though she was to blame also, but it was sad. I love this whole series.

Joey is my least favorite character in the series. Keri Ann’s brother was hard to like but this book helped to better understand him. I love the series.

This was actually really sweet and sad. To have the weight of the world on your shoulders and choose hiding how you feel instead of allowing others to take a chance on you. Joey is such a good guy in the end, but what a bonehead!

First of all, let me just say that I LOVE extras. The playlists, free novellas and companion stories, seaturtle tattoos all keep me invested in Butler Cove and my favourite characters. Natasha Boyd is probably as crazy and voracious a reader as I am, because she so obviously understands what it means to be so invested in characters that they start to feel like your friends. So, thank you, Ms. Boyd for always having extras. I hope that never changes.

I was so angry after reading All that Jazz. All through Eversea and Forever, Jack there were hints of conflict between Joey and Jazz, but they didn't prepare me for All that Jazz. I don't think anything would have. Joey crushed Jazz's heart in a million different ways, and my heart broke right along with hers. I was so mad at Joey, and jumping ahead a year didn't change that. I wasn't ready for According to Joey, because I wasn't ready to forgive him. I guess, just like Jazz, I needed time too.

I am so glad that Natasha Boyd wrote According to Joey. It took the anger away and gave me the closure that the fast forward at the end of All that Jazz couldn't provide. But as much as I love extras, I really hope I never need them for the reason I needed According to Joey. Quite frankly, I'm tired of the guys leaving and then coming back to grovel. I have a sneaking suspicion that Lizzie's story will have something similar too. (She's a single mom, duh.) But, you know, for the future, I'd love a love story where nobody leaves or does something equally anger-inducing. Pretty please.

I LOVED this companion short because it was nice hearing Joey's perspective of what happened between him and Jazz, but just as I was totally getting into it, this amazing *book short* stopped! I guess I'd rather read 70 pages or so in Joey's perspective rather than none at all, lol, but I sort of felt like it was a teaser.

I felt the author did an incredible job at switching to a male's perspective, especially during the intimate boat scene (that's all I'll say because I don't want to give away any spoilers).

Reading Joey's thoughts also helped me understand his perspective a little bit better as to why he left Jazz the way he did and how he felt after the fact. I thought he was kind of stupid to not realize a few things, but then again he was only in his early 20's when he first fell in love with Jazz and once he reached his mid-twenties finally figured out what he threw away. But you'll have to read the book (definitely read All That Jazz first) to find out if he can make that up to Jazz...

I couldn't help but think of the younger Joey looking like Drew Van Acker from Pretty Little Liars when he was younger and 3-4 years later as well. Conveniently when Jason returns on PLL (played by Drew Van Acker) his hair was longer, just like Joey had grown out his hair 3 years later in All That Jazz (hot much)?!

What I picture Joey to look like when he's 26 or so when he comes back to win Jazz's heart:
