This year’s annual voyage to Malibu will be unlike any other...
Sydney West is no longer a party girl looking for summer boys to occupy her nights. She has found love with Jason King and agreed to marry him. With wedding plans in full swing for the July deadline, everything seems to be perfect.
Until someone from Jason’s past interrupts their summer getaway…
When Jason turns cold and distant, the party scene beckons Sydney to return to her old drink-all-night ways. Only this time the guys at the bar don’t hold her attention, but when Sydney's drink is drugged by a so-called friend—she kisses one of them. When Jason finds out, he leaves the beach house to clear his head, but a couple hours quickly turn into days.
It’s hard to have a wedding without the groom…
This summer is nothing like what Sydney had planned, and for the first time she's afraid of the future. Sydney finally figured out what she wants and she isn’t willing to let Jason go without a fight. But is it already too late? Sydney will risk everything to…
piece herself, and the life she wants, back together again.

After reading the first two books I had to know how it ended...
Sydney has always been flighty... After everything she's been through she doesn't really trust anyone, not one hundred percent, not even herself.
So when Jason finally put a ring on it, I had to know, could Sydney survive the wedding planning and get herself down the aisle to marry the one person who made her truly happy to be herself?
Brittney does an awesome job of tying up all the loose ends for one of my favourite couples, Sydney and Jason
Is Happily Ever After Possu? Piecing Together Sydney is the conclusion of the Sydney West trilogy and WoW how things have changed for Sydney in the last year. But now it's once again summer, which means off to Malibu. This time though instead of being a party girl looking for summer boys, this year she has a fiancé. Gone were the days of having her name on every list at nightclubs in L.A. as well as having plans filled with parties and days were wasted lying in bed, sleeping off God knew what. From someone who didn't believe in love only one night stands, to being engaged and getting married this summer. Each summer she added to her album, it had twenty one years of summers, the last six filled with parties. This year it was time for a new album, a wedding album! Sydney put off making arrangements for the wedding while she was finishing school, she wanted to focus on that first. Amelia is her wedding planner, the only things that got checked off the list were the venues. Those couldn't wait until the last minute. So now that they've arrived in Malibu, it was wedding planning crunch time. Sydney knew Jason was the only guy she ever wanted to touch her again and he was her forever man. But that didn't mean she wasn't scared. She hasn't had the best role model for lasting relationships. But she and Jason both agreed they'd be different then their parents, they had that in common, lousy rotten fathers! But they'd have their own happily ever after right? There are a lot of twists, turns and unexpected happenings in this story. It is well worth taking your time to read it, the complete series is! You could just pick up this portion and figure out what's going on, but it's more than worth it to start from the beginning and read about Sydney's journey. The transformation she embarks is tough, but amazing. I smiled a LOT, laughed, cried, was scared, worried, happily ecstatic, as well as thoroughly pissed off. To say Brittney hit the rainbow of emotions while writing this story would be an understatement! But I LOVED every bit of it! I give her 5+ stars! Due to sexual situations, this book is recommended for readers 17 and older! I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review! FAVORITE PASSAGES: **He didn’t give up on me and there were some many reasons to last summer. This summer it was my turn to help Jason heal from the deep scars from the past. **Jon Voight, “Sometimes a little heartbreak is a lesson, and the best thing to do is just learn the lesson.” **Jason was broken like I was. We were tossed away by those who claimed they loved us. It was their loss, for we found each other and I was never letting him go. He was my peanut butter and I his jelly. ** Henry Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success. **My heart couldn’t see with the film of ice, but Jason warmed it and finally everything made sense. **Lao Tzu, “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” How true those words were. I was never going to let Jason go. No matter what. He was my strength, my courage, and my light in the darkest of times. And now he was going to be my husband. **What I truly learned after all these years was love was an undying flower in the crack of cement. Nothing would kill it. I drew strength from the love of my family and friends. I, Sydney Anne King, was completely whole. A broken heart was a thing of the past. As sappy as it sounded, love did heal all wounds. Jason saved my life and I repaid him as many times I could. No, we saved each other. What a wonderful life we had and I looked forward to the future and all the memories we’d make.
Sydney and Jason made it through the school year and the unthinkable is happening...she said yes to marry Jason. Now they are getting ready for their wedding in July. Now Sydney will decide if it is finally time to change her summer boys into just one summer man.
Okay, actually, it isn't really up to Sydney anymore. The party scene calls her name but she is determined to behave. However, it takes a whole lot ore than determination to bring the party out of the girl. One of her 'friends' has a different idea in mind and soon Sydney loses control because she one of her drinks is spiked. When she kisses someone who isn't Jason will it be the end of their romance? Will they be able to bring back the romance that was so refreshing? Or will Jason see the relationship as just a summer fling?
This book took my heart, threw it on the ground, curb stomped it, and then slowly unwrinkled it. I couldn't take the feels that just flowed off the page. We got to see a new side of Jason in this book and I think that it was really refreshing. For so long he is this almost perfect specimen that Sydney should count her lucky stars is willing to take the time and break down her walls. But here he shows us a lot more when a stranger from his past complicates everything.
I love a good wedding. I love everything about a wedding and any book with that premise into it screams at me until I finally read it. A lot of people will probably criticize Sydney and Jason because they are so young. But I think there is something to be said about young love, especially when it is between old souls. I personally think that Sydney is an old soul. She grew up too fast and experienced too much too early. As a result, I think she is prepared to make the decision to get married this young. I may be a little bias because I was engaged at 22 and married at 24 but it should never be your place to tell someone they are too young to get married.
Alright, I am off my soap box. I really enjoyed this series and I am not ready to say goodbye to Sydney. I feel like she is that one best friend we all have who can be a pain but at the end of the day she will fight for you, with you, and beside you. We came a long way together and I'd recommend her to anyone looking for some summer fun.
As this is the third novel in the Sydney West series, I highly suggest reading the previous novels before beginning this book. So happy to see how much Sydney has grown and opened up over the series. This final book was a great ending for Sydney, her family and friends.
For Sydney West her summers in Malibu were all about clubs, drinks, and meaningless sex. But ever since she fell in love with Jason King, her life has begun to change to the point that she is even getting married something she had sworn never to do. Heading to the beach this summer has everyone in full wedding planning mode with the big day set for July. But the plans get paused when someone from Jason’s past returns, making him become cold and distant, raising Sydney's insecurities of not really knowing the real Jason. So when each of them begin to question each other rather than listening, the big question is will there still be a wedding or not?
Overall, loved Sydney's conclusion. The first two books show how much Sydney works through to become open to love. So when it's her turn to be loving and help Jason through his issues, Sydney does better than I expected considering her past. That what makes the characters "real" their problems don't disappear but are worked through or are understood as being worked on, like life. Jason is amazing and I'd love to have a man like him, even with his daddy issue, because he knows how to cherish and love a woman thoroughly. Oh and of course the adorable couple, Amelia and Hunter, love them especially Amelia even when she gets all wedding planner from hell. The prologue was perfect loved it to bits, but won't spoil any of it. So if you haven't read the first two books do so and then read this one, if you're looking for a girl who likes to be play bad but ultimately finds love even after denying love isn't real, then you'll like this series.
**I received a free copy in return for an honest review**
As the third installment of the Sydney series, Piecing Together Sydney was a fitting end to a brilliant love story. While I don’t usually look at YA romance as my go to books to read, Sydney King’s story captured my interest and through every book I just wanted her to have that HEA.
Book 3 picks up right where we last saw Sydney and Jason as they had gotten engaged. In this installment, Sydney fights through the panic of reality as well as coming to the full realization that the life she led in the first book was something she could live without. Why? Jason. Throughout the first two books we saw the patient and loving nature of Jason. This book delves into the demons that haunt Jason. Crazy thing is he has more in common with Sydney than either of them realized. They were both broken.
As I said in the beginning, the author captured my attention with her effortless writing style. I truly feel that this third book coming from Sydney’s POV did their story justice. I love that the author delves into the madness wedding planning brings out in people and having a baby. I especially had a LOL moment with this “ I pressed my thighs together and wondered if two condoms at once would increase the odds of me not getting knocked up.” Who’s having a baby though? Well you’ll just have to read to find out.
Finally, one of the things that stands out in this story is the continuity the author displays in Sydney’s love for quotes and I especially identified with this one. “Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” Aristotle
As Sydney’s pieces were found and glued and the twists and turns of relationship that overcame, Piecing Together Sydney is a 4.5 to 5 star read for me.
Piecing Together Sydney is the third book in the (Sydney West Series) by Brittney Coon, and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this amazing series. Brittney Coon has given us a story , that will hold us from start to finish and then will leave us wanting more from this author. In this story we are following Sydney ,Jason, Amelia ,and hunter ,and what great characters they are ,and this whole story is so well developed throughout this whole story. Beautiful Sydney who has finally got her life together and on track after having a carefree summer. But everyone of them were just going to finish up their college undergrads courses and then their heading back to Cali , to help prepare for Sydney's and Jason's wedding in July. But then something happens unexpectedly while sweet Amelia is helping Sydney with all the planning . Someone from Jason' s past comes back in the picture ,will this someone spoil everything for Sydney? There is so many ups and downs in this amazing story that it will have us on the chair edge ,to see what's going to happen next for this couple. I have read this whole series and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. I could tell you more about this touching story, but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this story, you won't be disappointed.
from what I understand Sydney used to be wild and very carefree. Now she found someone that will be there for her and the parties aren't calling to her much. She is now engaged and is done with school, and is planning a summer wedding. Let's just say shes a bit overwhelmed but excited at he same time. Her insecurities come back but she tries to keep them down. During one night out her "friend" spikes her drink and shes kisses someone that is not her fiance Jason. Jason see's and leaves. when he doesn't come back Sydney is terrified that her future and wedding is ruined. Jason loves Sydney and can't wait to marry her and cherish her for the rest of their lives. but once his past starts messing with his future he becomes distant and unreachable at times. his ex-girlfriend and his distant father, how much can one person take. lets just say they are in for one hell of a roller-coaster this summer before saying "I do"
Though I didn't read the first two books(which i wanted to) I really enjoyed Jason and Sydney's story. You can just tell how much a character has grown to love and trust themselves and each other though its was a little rocky and that's what I love about this book, I didn't have to read the first two to fully understand what was happening and to see that they grew .
Romance, surf, misunderstandings, drama, suspense, and growing up all come together in this novel of finding yourself and those you believe in.
Sydney West is a reformed party girl about to get married to Jason. When someone from Jason's past turns up in the run-up to the big day, Jason starts to avoid questions and act suspiciously. When Sydney has her drink spiked and kisses another guy on film, Jason leaves... and doesn't return. And then things start to get interesting...
I haven't read the first two books in this series and, other than the fact that there must be some underlying reason why Sydney is getting married so young, which was rather confusing and at odds with her feisty character, I didn't feel my reading suffered from this. The characters were alive, and brought more to life by the themes of the book and the situations that they faced. The pace was a little slower than I would have liked, as the drama scenes felt short in comparison to some of the character-building. Overall, an enjoyable read with depth.
*I received a review copy from the New Adult Book Club on Goodreads. This is my honest review.
Since finishing book #2 Breaking Down Sydney, I couldn't wait to see what author Brittney Coon would have in store for our troubled but healing Sydney. This book definitely didn't disappoint as we caught up with our favourite couples Sydney and Jason, Amelia and Hunter. At the beginning of the summer it all started so well, until Amelia -Maid of Honour turned Wedding Planner, got Syd's ass in gear for the wedding of the summer!!! Things were going nice and steady - there were no sudden movements to spook Sydney - until Jason's ex-girlfriend shows up, then his estranged father comes back into his life, all the while Sydney is determined to keep the party girl in her to stay in the past. I thought Brittney Coon finished off this awesome series really well while still doing her characters justice, I really loved the ending and getting to see all four characters 10yrs from now. I am going to miss Sydson and Amter but I am glad they are all getting their HEA even if the author puts us readers through the wringer to get them there
Well Brittney really took this trilogy home in style! I adore both Sydney and Jason and have enjoyed following their journey through all 3 of these books I felt the author just make each book slightly better then the one before it and really hit a home run with book 3! I was amazed at the transformation in Sydney from book one to book 3 and felt the stories were all easy to follow and didn't leave horrible cliffs just enough to look forward to the next book and not torture while waiting. Brittney has succesfully made me a fan of life with this trilogy I read all 3 books and loved them all, but this book I loved slightly more then the first two books! So if your new to this author pick up Shades of Sydney book 1 in this trilogy and start there! I give this book a solid 5 star rating and want to add that I will be telling the world about how great they were well worth the read!!!!
I have mixed feelings about the way this series ends. I love that Sydney is continuing to show growth and maturity from the girl we first met. This time she is planning a wedding unlike her past summers. I love the relationship between Amelia and her. I finally forgive Amelia for the way she treated Sydney earlier in the series and can just enjoy their friendship. What keeps me from loving this book is how much the author tries to pack into the book. I just feel like there is too much going on. Every chapter almost brings a new issue or drama. I think cutting out a few of the issues would have helped. I feel like the ending chapters are pretty perfect from the wedding and honeymoon back to school and then the future.
As of this moment I have come into this book at its first. I haven't read the two before, but I can already see this is has turned into an awesome sexual fantasy ride. (I now have book one and two) lol
Sydney is a very conflicted young woman although seems to be getting herself back on track. Like any relation, especially hers with Jason. Their meeting was classic, but the ride was far from normal. Their lives have changed for the better. Engaged, fully committed, comfortable. All they need to do now is get through the arrangements, tie the knot and live happily every after... ... right? Oh dear :/ Things are not that simple indeed.
conclusion to Sydney's story, Things didn't go to what I expected ,with a wedding about to be planned in Malibu, which is Sydney's summer playground. This girls has a past and try's so hard to not go back there , Sydney works hard to stay away from her past lifestyle. she has to help Jason fight his own demons with his father, as she had her own demons about her dada too ... maybe that's there thing that gives them the bind needed . There was an unexpected turn of events which kept me turning pages.
This was the conclusion to Sydney's story, with a wedding about to be planned in Malibu, which is Sydney's summer playground. Sydney works hard to stay away from her past lifestyle as she has to help Jason fight his own demons with his father. There was an unexpected turn of events which kept me turning pages. It was nice to see Sydney's character grow and develop over the series, though I have to admit I'm not a fan of the 10 year epilogue! (It means the story happened ten years ago, meh!)
this is the third book in the series and i couldn't wait to read the next instalment. this book definitely does not disappoint one bit. the characters are still as amazing as ever. this is a fitting end to the whole series and this series is definitely a must read set. this is a fantastic author who writes amazing stories you just cant get enough of. i cant wait to read more from this author in the future.
Oh wow!!! Sydney and Jason have become my favorite couple. I'm so happy she found love in him. But will people try to ruin it for them. Can they over come all the obstacles in their path.
This is the third book in the series and you follow Sydney, Jason, Amelia and Hunter. Sydney has finally gotten her life back on track after living her summers carefree. Each of them were finishing up their college undergrads and were getting ready to head back to Cali to make wedding preparations for Jason and Sydney for their upcoming July wedding date. Then another unexpected event happens to Amelia and Hunter while Amelia was helping Sydney with all the planning.
So many ups and downs throughout the book that kept me on edge and kept me reading on. I really enjoyed this book and the others. It was nice to see what happened 10 years later and see where their lives had taken them. Brittney Coon did a wonderful job with this series.
