Cutting The Deck: A Chinese Role Reversal Alternate History

Rate this book
In the first half of the 20th century China threw off the chains of imperialism and embraced nationalism and communism. These two ideologies fought a brutal civil war only interrupted due to an invasion by Japan with the nationalists eventually retreating to Taiwan. But what if the communists had been in power first? What if the nationalists were a fringe movement that had to slowly build themselves up? And what if the communists had retreated to Taiwan? This alternate history details the events of a world where Sun Yat-Sen never existed and communism came to power after the Xinhai Revolution. Following events throughout the 20th century of this alternate world from the early 1900s, the nationalist victory on the mainland and the communists retreat to Taiwan all the way to the modern era of a world similar and yet surprisingly different from our own.
