Rate this book

• вы - то, что вы едите, так научитесь есть здоровую пищу, которая придаст вам сил для достижения поставленных спортивных целей;
• более 100 рецептов вкусных и полезных блюд, приготовленных и доступных продуктов - отличная база для собственного плана питания для спортсмена любого уровня;

This book is a great no-nonsense, scientific approach to sports nutrition. Dedicating pages to different sports made it much easier for me to read only the parts that applied to my situation, and there were also a few extra nuggets of interesting info on performance training aside from the nutritional aspect e.g. appreciation of the role of different training intensities as well as impacts of hormonal cycles on performance and metabolism. The recipes look good and will try some, though pictures may have been helpful. The other slight criticism I have is that various parts of the book cover the same theme (though expanded) so I found myself having to flick backwards and forwards quite a lot, reading through a lot of text rather than having a concise, clear place to consolidate the information. Overall would recommend for sports people trying to get the most out of their training.

"Training Food" is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to optimize their nutrition for exercise and achieve their fitness goals. This concise and informative book provides a comprehensive guide to fueling the body effectively before, during, and after workouts.

One of the standout features of this book is its ability to impart knowledge straightforwardly. The author presents complex nutritional concepts in a clear and accessible way, making it easy for readers to grasp the importance of proper fueling strategies. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced athlete, you'll find the content highly informative and applicable to your fitness journey.

Another highlight of "Training Food" is the inclusion of recipes at the back of the book. This practical feature allows readers to implement the principles they've learned. The recipes are diverse, ranging from pre-workout snacks to post-workout recovery meals, and they cater to different dietary preferences. This variety ensures something for everyone, regardless of their needs and tastes.

The set up of this book was a total let down, it read like a college textbook. For all I know it might be a textbook. This was a great idea but not what I was looking for.

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads giveaway, but I was not required to provide a review.

Positives:
1) It was well written and informative.
2) Provided some great ideas for how to eat depending on the type of workout I do each day.
3) Gave me some good ideas on what and when to eat after workingout, whether it is riding the bike, running, or swimming.

Negatives:
1) Can not think of anything negative in what I read.

Conclusion:
For anyone that is training for an event, or just does a good bit of biking/running/swimming. I think this book will give them a good idea how to improve their performance by eating appropriately to their training plan. I have not tried any of the recipes yet, but I am planning on trying some, because there are ones that look decent.

I received this book through a Goodreads Giveaway which does not alter my opinion of the book's contents.

This book is really good in that it is not telling me that I need to diet, but it informs me the best way to fuel my body for the activities I am doing. The good recipes from the book help me to feel better and help my system recoup, even after strenuous sessions, faster. Thanks for all of the helpful information to improve my fitness and wellbeing.

Raamatu lõpus on ilus valik retsepte, kuid kahjuks nendest leidis vaid mõne üksku vegan roa.
