Rate this book
The chance of a lifetime…
Noah, a shy IT guy from a small town on Earth gets the chance of a lifetime when he is selected to travel to the planet of Zata among the very first humans ever. He hopes to experience more of the famous Zatan technology, but what he does not expect is to be thrown into the middle of a mating celebration and to meet a Zatan man who claims to be the prince of his planet! …And who says that Noah belongs to him…

A lifetime of waiting…
Arex, the third prince of Zata, has all but given up hope on finding his true mate. But when their new acquaintances from across the stars – humans – are invited to Zata for the yearly mating celebration, his hopes are reawakened. Arex immediately sets his eyes on a small human male with light blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes. He knows that the male belongs to him, but now he just needs to convince the human of that too…

Alien Alpha’s Little Omega is a standalone science fiction romance with a lot of steamy M/M alien sex, knotting, and male pregnancy. Intended for mature audiences only.

This book, while okay, suffered from a number of things that mark new author's work. The first thing was that the book was largely telling without showing. Dialogue was minimal as everything was reported or happening only in a character's head. There was lots of repetition of information as well, with things being restated a short chapter later. What really started to bug me was the fact that Noah was referred to as "tiny" or "little" along with the word mate, male, or human constantly (his tiny mate, the little human, etc.), never letting us forget that he was physically small and/or beloved. Neither character had much personality, even though we see them through each other's eyes as the POV alternates. The sex wasn't especially hot, with lots of "squishing" and copious "leaking". It was a quick and easy Kindle Unlimited read however, and entertaining enough that I will try the second in the series when it comes out.

Omg!!!! The meaning behind Zanes' name was too sweet!!
I didn't feel their spark, tho. Noah blushed more than he talked to Arex.

Eye rollingly bad

I didn’t make it through this book. I only got 38% into it. It was bad. This wasn’t the worst book I’ve ever read, but it was among the bottom ten. The characters were so flat that I don’t think the author even knew anything about them. The prince went from sweet and lusty to domineering and requiring his human mate to become suddenly submissive before indulging either of their artificially induced lusts. You don’t do that to someone you haven’t even managed to have a conversation with. Because they hadn’t had a conversation. Instead, they ate a fruit that made them lusty and helped with inhibitions and then bam, it was sexy time. Except I didn’t get that far because ugh, it was so bad as to be off-putting. This author needs instruction on how to create three dimensional sympathetic characters, how to engage a reader in a story, and how to do research to make his/her stories believable. Unpublish, rewrite, add like 30k more words that is all character building and world building and this might be a readable sci-fi.

DNF at 30%.

Poorly written. Would not re-read or recommend.

Summary: Human wins a lottery to visit an alien homeworld, not knowing he and the other humans have been invited for a mating ceremony, and meets the prince. Horniness, and I'm assuming sex, ensues, but I didn't make it that far.

So repetitive

I was suggested this book has a five-star read, but, unfortunately, found it far from five star worthy. It seemed like every paragraph only repeated what was previously stated. Had the author not done that, however, surely the story would have been half the length and probably twice the Stars I have now given it. I skimmed almost all of the second half of the book.

KU, paranormal, sci-fi, book in a series, standalone, mpreg, alien, fated mates

3.5 stars. The overall story is adorable and sweet. I do have to agree that it is repetitive and it skims through some really important events. I liked this book enough to go on to the next in the series.

Something that stands out, much like another author I've read a lot of... too many references to little.. little human, little mate.. little little little... gotta branch out and NOT get bogged down with the same phrase over and over.. we notice that shit and some of us get really annoyed over it.

I didn't understand the bit about the oldest brother.. I guess I didn't catch on that he found his mate at the same time as Arex and other bro cus he's presented as an ass. Later on is when I pick up on the fact that all of them found their mates.

Plus, how are they getting pregnant? There's no mention that mating or actually the simple act of intercourse since there's not a formal mating until a bit later that can or does make changes in human males. Since they are NOT Zatan who can in times of need then clearly for humans to develop this ability requires some kind of internal change. But we'll just totally ignore that and we won't need any ind of explanation. If that is read as sarcasm then be right on the money...

Nice plot but poor delivery

I enjoyed the storyline but.....
There were numerous grammatical errors.
The author repeats previous story content over and over again which I found very tedious. He liked to explain in detail a lot of things in the story but spent no time explaining a basic primary question/concept about how a male from earth could become pregnant. The reader was just supposed to accept the fact. I would have thought that the character would have wanted to know. If the Alpha was so concerned about his mate why did he not consult the royal physicians especially if a male earthling's pregnancy was unheard-of?

so so so many potential yet the delivery is very poor. i truly like the overall idea. if only the author has expanded it with great writing. it's a shame really. though i'm abroad with the sequel about drak's and his mate story

So So

Likes:
-The romantic leads support marriage, are kind to children, and get a HEA.
Plus 3 stars

Dislikes:
- The book is so busy focusing on MM intimacy that it fails to develop the relationship. For instance, from the beginning Arex fails to communicate and shuts his partner out of his work life and basically shuts him in the nursery with no opportunity for gainful employment and no way to interact with the Zatan population to help them form good relationships with people from Earth. Obviously, this hurts his partner and they just never address any of it so Arex stays the same and continues to infantilize his partner in perpetuity. The romance never matures or allows the partners to work together as a team to solve their problems together. The relationship just plateaus and that is kind of boring.
Minus one star

-Arex is sexually aggressive due to his own jealousy, and hits his partner without discussing boundaries or consent. They both pretend Arex did nothing wrong.
Minus one star for normalizing violence during intimacy and for normalizing boundary violations due to lack of communication.

Comments:
-There is a ton of wish fulfillment regarding intimacy and almost no world building. No one ever explains that a man’s anatomy changes on the alien planet to allow for birth, everyone just assumes it somehow happens and is okay. Normally, people would be concerned about the welfare of the birth parent and child.

Usually I'm all about the alien/human pairings. This one, meh. It was okay. But not great by any means.
Noah is a human who's won a contest, along with hundreds of other humans, to travel to an alien planet. The first humans to have ever visited there. Arex is a prince on this planet where you know your mate the minute you see them. Arex knows Noah is his mate immediately and pursues him. Despite Noah, at least initially, being adamant he is straight. But really there's not much convincing. It's basically a short instalove/lust book with an HEA. That's not my issue. My problems with this book start when the characters often repeat themselves multiple times. For example, Noah is feeling bewildered that he has feelings for/and just slept with, an alien male. And he literally reiterates this same thought over 6 paragraphs. Over. And Over. And OVER again. Both characters do this as its dual POV. Second, there's no real conflict of any kind. Noah just kinda accepts things. And both characters are fairly bland. Third, typos and occasional poor grammar which were distracting.

It was short though, so I decided to read the rest of the series to see if they got any better.

Rating 1.5 rounded up to 2.

Unbelievably lazy when it came to the world building of the zatans and their world. They felt like humans in a different font. They even look like humans. The most alien thing about them is their names. Technologically, the exact fucking same. Their main mode of transportation is literally called a “vehicle” which I didn’t mind when Noah first called it that, since he’s a human and doesn’t know shit about their planet or it’s culture, but then we switch to Arex’s perspective and he calls it the same fucking thing. There was no physical description of this “vehicle” so my mind conjured up a stereotypical flying saucer UFO type thing. Culturally, the exact fucking same, sans the mating ceremony. We don’t get to see much zatan culture, but we do learn that omegas wear white on their wedding day. How original.

The only thing that kept me from rating this one star is when Arex offered to fly out Noah’s parents to see him occasionally. A genuine genre subversion that dispels a common conflict of the human being distressed and hesitant about being with their alien lover because they’re being separated from their loved ones on Earth.

I hate leaving less than stellar reviews, but this sci-fi romance reads more like a soft core porno complete with a lack of: plausible reactions to the situations that arise, character depth, romance, and world building. I feel like there's the bare bones of a good storyline here, it just wasn't fleshed out enough to be satisfying as a "romance" for me considering the straight virgin gets mated day 1, pregnant and abducted day 2, threatened, hit and rescued day 3 and by day 4 he's in love and ready to get married and stay forever a month later?

If it had been marketed purely as an erotic fiction, I may have rated it slightly higher, but even then it needs a more thorough editing to catch repetitive phrases and word choice [wanton in particular was misused several times], as well as more character description and detailed sex scenes.

I hope the author doesn't give up on writing sci-fi (there's always demand for more m/m romance of the space variety) I just hope they refine their writing style and find some beta readers/ a better editor to help polish their work.

Great story!

This is one of those insta-love/fated mate kind of stories, that most people either love or hate. Me? I totally love them.

I really liked this book a lot. I loved how the Zatans were allowing some humans to visit Zata for a special "celebration." I knew we were going to have some sexy fun. Noah was sweet and I liked him but at times he got a little whiny and acted kind of wimpy, especially after meeting Arex. I liked Arex. He was bossy and dominant but could be sweet and protective too.

Noah's introduction to Zatan culture and food was cute and funny. He was completely out of his element. I love when a book makes me giggle like that. And I give kudos for having a birth scene. I hate to be left hanging mid pregnancy.

As enjoyable as this book was, it bugged me that there wasn't more dialogue between Noah and Arex. It would have solidified their connection more.

A good idea for a story, but the world building is almost completely lacking. Noah is intriguing as a character, but I'm left with too many questions about why he wasn't more aware of Zatan culture. They had a "tour guide" who gave them some information, but not enough. None of the humans seemed aware that this was a mating celebration that they were headed to.

Were the humans aware of Omegas? If not, what turned them into Omegas? According to the story, Zatan citizens had settled on Earth with their human mates (all female mates per the story) so there should have been some cultural exchange regarding mating.

I will read the rest of the series, but I sincerely hope that it improves over this one. If I wasn't already a fan of Omegaverse stories, I'm not sure I would continue. There just isn't enough development of place/culture/character to keep it going.

It’s just a Wattpad story disguised as a professional book. It’s not bad especially the first 40% but when it comes to Noah’s pregnancy it loads on the Wattpad cliche-ness. They had sex once and suddenly the NEXT DAY (hours after not even a full day) Noah is sick and has a child growing in him with a baby bump?

I know it’s fiction and people will argue that I’m reading mpreg so why should logic exist in this book but COME ON at least make it believable. It can take days for sperm to reach the egg and WEEKS for a baby to form. At least let 72 hours pass before adding in morning sickness. Give us three to seven days. Make it somewhat realistic.

We can have mpreg from the logic that the male could be intersex with a womb but no vagina but we cannot make sense of a baby growing to first term in under eight hours.

I got to 79% and had to abandon ship. I feel bad leaving a 2 star review but it was really repetitive and the characters lacked substance. I loved the premise and was excited to get into the world but you are shown zero of the world and the characters are very surface value. Here is alien alpha and the human is the tiny omega. They bang. Baby. Shock. Instant love over 24 hours and even though the human is kidnapped that isn’t going to be an issue. No work through of the humans feelings, just he feels in love so that is that. Suddenly we are getting married. That is where I was like…I’m at 79% and I feel like I’ve read the cliff notes of something. Maybe it got better but I couldn’t get myself to finish to find out.

I needed an alien fix. Only the aliens aren’t very alien. And I could get past the aphrodisiac fruit, which bothered some readers, because clearly the MCs wanted each other before that - sort of like a true mates thing. I do not at all think this was dubcon. It just wasn’t very good though. No glaring errors and it was easy to read, but the plot was just... unimaginative. And everything just occurred very quickly. We had a few moments where genuine emotions could’ve been explored, but they’re glossed over. Even the major conflict is sort of glossed over. I think this was an example of telling and not showing.

Interesting

I will start by saying while there are some editing issues, it is still an interesting and good story.
This is a first read of author Leo Thorne and I did enjoy it. The premise of the story is one that has humans traveling to another planet and joining a mating celebration. While there, many of the humans find a true mate among the Zatans. From there things happen that astound Noah not to mention he is kidnapped.
If you want an interesting quick read, get this story.

This was an okay read but there were several things that annoyed me.

The story lacked in dialogues between the characters. The characters inner monologues became frustrating to the point I was left wanting more. There was a lot of repetition - the same things got repeated every few pages which become tedious and annoying.

This is one of the best books i have ever read I think the only thing that really bugged me was how much Alex kept repeating like little mate, little human male, little omega, little human mate, or tiny mate, or tiny human and it just overall got really annoying and also sometimes it repeated something more than once but besides for those things I really did love this book

Oh dear. The concept was great but the story was just absolutely ridiculously unbelievable. In addition, the story was unnecessarily rushed. I felt that even the author was bored. I’ve already purchased the second book in this series. I will read the first chapters and if it appears the story has the same shortcomings I won’t continue to read.

I'm sorry to say that this read is an excellent example of poor writing. The story idea is fun and could have been sexy as f*ck. But it's clear that the writing skill just isn't there. Apart from that, what's really surprising and disappointing is a Sci-Fi without any sort of world-building at all. So a total bust in every way.

Pretty good

I liked the story premise. There were some parts of the writing that hit me the wrong way I think. Can't really specify what it was, a lot of repeating words and repeating of sentiments throughout maybe. Didn't flow very well. Pretty good book though! Very sweet. Wish the spicy parts were more abundant but overall I liked the story!

Its a no from me. This isn't much of a romance as much as alpha and getting a mate/omega just for a child, literally obsessed with having a heir. He gets Noah drunk on this fruit aphrodisiac and they get it on, of course Noah becomes an omega and auto pregnant morning sickness next day 😂 I've read crazy stuff, but this is not for me...

This book was crazy and in a good way to for example the characters were built with their own amazing personalities and the descriptions and detail of earth and Zata was really cool. Over all a really great book 10000/10
