A life is never just a life. I know because mine was saved, making me the most appreciative dog I know. When you read my story, you will know what I mean. I tell it like it is, like it was and like it will be because rescuing dogs must go on. Just by reading our stories you make a difference. Thank you, Alfalfa.
Sachin Mayi stands 6’2” and weighs 212 lbs. He has long brown hair and a beard and looks very much like Jesus when his hair is down. But he mostly wears it up samurai style which ads to his daunting presence in the Japanese martial art of Aikido, in which he holds the ranking of 3rd Dan. Growing up in a dysfunctional family with a sister and two brothers, Sachin almost lost his youngest brother Michael, who at age 17 was dying in his arms from a head injury. Sachin spent his junior abroad in Aix-en-Provence, Southern France where he became fluent in French and won the City of Aix Award for excellence. At the age of 24, Sachin spent a year and a half modeling in Chicago, Italy and Austria. Sachin lived most of this time in Milan, Italy and became fluent in Italian. Having learned meditation at the age of 16, Sachin went on to become a Transcendental Meditation (TM) Teacher, which ultimately led him to the feet of his Guru, Ammachi at Her ashram in Kerala, South India where he spent two years. It was here that he received his name and life’s mission: to find those people who are suffering in the world and serve them.
