The oceans rise. The earth quakes. And an ancient power rises to reclaim not just the world, but the universe itself—and not even the combined might of the Justice League can stop it. An all-new era begins with this epic by comic book legend Bryan Hitch (JLA, The Ultimates) and master storyteller Tony S. Daniel (BATMAN: R.I.P., DEATHSTROKE).
Bryan Hitch is a British comic book artist and writer who gained prominence on American titles such as Wildstorm's Stormwatch and The Authority, DC Comics' JLA, and Marvel Comics' The Ultimates.

Okay, I've said before that I'm not going to continue with the rebirth, but I decided to give it another chance. Now I can say clearly that I'm done with it. Just it's not for me. I was thinking that the rebirth will be something like a new start for the characters, but it was far away from that.
I'll run away from anything holding the word rebirth from DC. They're suitable for those who're following from the previous issues before the rebirth, not for the new ones.
Por ahora el número de DC Renacimiento que más me ha gustado. La trama y el dibujo están muy conseguidos. Introductorio pero interesante. En este primer tomo la liga de la justicia se enfrenta al ataque extraterrestre,lo que les hace unirse.
Definitely THE worst DC book this week , ofcourse considering it was Rebirth one-shot i didn't expect much from it but sadly what little i expected was too much to ask . The plot focussed on the new Superman comtemplating whether or not he wants to join the Justice league *
* Duh!
Meanwhile another Tentacled freak is trying to wreck havoc* and Justice league trying to fight it until Superman shows up and whoops it's sorry ass .It basically does nothing in terms of either the plot or trying to correct the annoying parts of new 52 as Batman remains useless , the character interactions remains bad , Wonder woman retains her brainless attitude .
* Seriously what's with all these Tentacled Monster in Superman related issue of - late , it's like being in one of the multi ecchi based cheap anime
But hey even the Batman rebirth issue and Green lantern rebirth issues were bad but have turned a corner since . so Please make JL great again
I will say I'm surprised that Victor doesn't have his own series, but I guess maybe the New 52 saw to that. I would like to see more of the Reapers, they seem pretty interesting.
Pretty solid JLA story, though there were instances where characters would state what their contribution to the team would be and we'd see nothing more of it. Moments where I'd assume another team player would have been better suited for a task. A few moments where I'd have a thought on what might help, and many pages later it's only briefly mentioned for consideration. I get that a lot is happening. I also appreciate Superman and Lois' talk, though I think the subject matter of the talk would have been timelier *before* Action Comics kicked off.
Not a bad read, but it felt sloppier than other massive JLA team-ups and the "united we stand" front was lost because of that.
Each member is in a different part of the world saving people from some natural disasters, that will most likely connect to the alien menaces..es. I gotta say by this point, it's getting pretty old. To serve as an introduction to our heroes and their powers it is still pretty bland. The action and destruction in the Wonder Woman sections are noteworthy, though. "Noteworthy.." Astounding! Is what I meant. I'll look forward to reading more but this was just an intro.
I wasn't a fan of the Justice League: Rebirth one-shot. The danger was some stupid space squid that the team was fighting. The art just didn't seem all that great. The parts dealing with Superman were interesting but everything else was rather sub-par.
The plot and the writing were dull, and the art looked very rushed, probably the worst out of all the Rebirth issues (the way the faces are drawn... so weird), my least favourite so far.
it's been a long long time that i felt so good about a Justice league comics and frankly i didn't expect it to be this good, i mean the whole New 52 Justice league sucked and the Justice League Rebirth one shot sucked severely as well , so i really really didn't expect Bryan Hitch (despite his previous successful stint with the Justice League ) to make this so Grand , so Epic , so Blockbuster-esque
I mean if they can continue this story in the similar vein as they did with this book than i say Make this story a Movie but than again it's just the first book but it felt like the good old days of Justice League , where it looked more like a kick ass team and not just a Power display by individuals in a team
The whole Zombie like Infestation however is getting a bit too cliched but oh well it's the first book of the saga and it looked good , hell it felt good . Just don't ruin it in the upcoming issues and pour cold water on my expectations
Much better than the Rebirth one-shot. The art was the thing that stood out to me the most in this first issue of Justice League, it looked good. There are some excellent full spread pages that really impressed me. There wasn't much here as far as writing, though. We just get a glimpse of the team and a very mysterious idea that our hero's superpowers are stolen, but other than that not a whole lot happens. The characters don't even interact with each other, only through long distance communication. It wasn't bad but there wasn't much there to judge it yet.
I thought the Justice League was a good title in the New 52 storyline, and think they are off to a great start via the Rebirth effort. I am sticking with them for awhile.
Merged review:
A good start to the Rebirth of the Justice League. Another global threat to mankind. And the new Superman is not fully on board yet. Still not sure about this Superman, from which world he came from. Just know that he is not the Superman from the New 52. Most of the ole gang is back, with a couple of new Green Lanterns thrown in as well. Batman and Wonder Woman are leading the way.
For the love of God, work on your artworks. It looks terrible, like a draft. Maybe the creators been watching too much Hentai. You just wanted to show off the new Superman, didnt you DC? I guess, I will get around the Green Lantern couple, but the artwork, Hell No.
The big JLU win moment looked like 10th Doctor fleeing off the Atraxis - So Basically Run [image error]
Way better than the previous one. Lot of action, good switching between characters, and a story with a catastrophe situation that look promising and since it's the first part of a mini-series, I really looking forward the next one!
Great art, but hilariously convoluted and a perfect example of the many inaccessibility issues comics currently face. These problems are bad on their own but are even more unacceptable for a giant reboot featuring the most popular DC heroes. What should be a perfect jumping on point for newcomers is really anything but.
I read this a few weeks ago when it first came out, but I'm just now getting around to reviewing it. I don't know much about Bryan Hitch, but since DC is letting write and illustrate one of its premiere series, they must have a lot of faith in the guy. After reading this book, I'm pretty sure I don't have as much faith in him as they do. Let me start with his art first. The art is pretty poor in m opinion. To be one of the biggest books that DC puts out, this series should have one of the top tier, megastar artists on it like it did in the New 52 with Jim Lee and I believe, Ivan Reis. Hitch's art is nowhere close to the level of art produced by those guys. Hell, the art on the cover by Tony Daniel is far superior than the art inside. A poor choice was made by the higher-ups at DC on this one. Art gets 2 stars.
The story is better than the art, but not by very much. The story has Superman questioning on whether or not to join this world's Justice League since their Superman was killed. I don't really know what is going on here, but I'm guessing this was all explained at the end of the New 52 and I haven't gotten around to reading all of those books yet. Anyways, the main baddie here is this big, REALLY BIG, flying creature that has come to Earth because it is our time to be harvested. The creature is from a race called the Reapers. I really enjoyed this story when it was in a video game called Mass Effect. In that game, a group of really big flying creatures named Reapers went around the universe harvesting humanoid lifeforms. Sound familiar? If this series was titles Justice Meets Mass Effect or something, I wouldn't bat an eye because of the way things get merged in comics crossover stories, but since Commander Shepherd is nowhere to be seen, I assume that this is just some blatant rip-off from a writer that couldn't come up with anything original. This story so far makes me wonder if Bioware is going to end up suing Bryan Hitch for plagiarism. The story gets 3 stars, but would have gotten more if I didn't know that the story already.
2 star art and a 3 star story make this a 2.5 star start to one of the biggest and most popular series at DC. This is supposed to be a new beginning and a great jumping on place for new and returning readers alike, but I can't really recommend this to anyone after reading this one issue. I won't be buying the regular series once it starts. I may read a friend's copy if they buy it or pick up a cheap trade on Amazon years down the road, but I'll not be spending any of my money on this garbage right now.
The Reapers have come to harvest the humans, but the Justice League consisting of Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg & the two rookie Green Lanterns come to the rescue. Superman eventually joins them after he & Lois have a discussion about their lives.
I HATED the artwork for this issue... it was just plain horrific. The story-line was choppy. I expected better from this issue because it was a Justice League team-up. I was waiting to see if they were going to incorporate the other stories going on separately from the other issues & they did for the Green Lantern's at least. I want to know if this is the same Wonder Woman that is unsure of herself & is suppose to be battling the cheetah villian because it does not feel like the same one.
My favorite scene was when Superman arrived on the scene because that is my guy. I cannot wait until the Justice League get to know him & start to trust him.
It's gonna be interesting seeing the Superman from the old world work with the rest of Justice League. And this new villain sounds like the thing that took over Superman in Batman Beyond, anyone who thinks the same?
