Something is stalking King City. The Elite is baffled by a string of bizarre murders in the same church where Amber killed a demon. She may be a newbie, but Amber knows there’s no such thing as coincidence. When she visits the crime scene, the murderer enters her mind and attempts to claim Amber for himself. Luckily for Amber, her demon mark isn’t willing to share. As if that wasn’t enough to deal with, now she’s seeing ghosts in the cemetery. And her attraction to Nic is rapidly reaching fever pitch. Caught between the worlds of the demon and fae, Amber must fight for her life before she loses her sanity. Whoever said being a Shadow Sorceress was easy never faced a pack of Heart Hounds. Sometimes, even the strongest magic can’t save everyone.

What happens?
Amber is haunted by a ghost at night and hunted by a fae any other time. She gets called to a gore filled murder scene that ends up her being linked to the fae that caused this. His obsession with her leads her running for her life to escape imprisonment by the fae.
Final thoughts
Loved this. I like the bits with the fae the best because they're really my favourite paranormal for some reason.
I like the way this intertwines with mythical stories and legends and makes a possible murder scene out of them. I also like how this is majority paranormal and fantasy with a little romance sprinkled in.

Good read

If you like pure fantasy, witches, hunters, shifters, faeries, and all manner of paranormal, this is the series for you. It's well written, keeps you enthralled and wanting to read more. Our heroine has recently found out that she's a super sorceress, but hasn't learned to control her powers yet. Our hero is frantic to protect her. In this book the major villain is a hyped-up faery. There is some humor, but not much, loads of angst, loads of danger and violence. Highly recommend.

Amber is in for a ride, she may not want to take. Especially when a fae takes her captive. The wild hunt is swirling around her and she has no clue how to stop it. Her mother telling her about her father and the truth about why she was sent to America. Nic finally telling her how he feels, wanting to keep her safe. Its an interesting story and brings Amber closer to learning the truth about herself.

Oooh, that ending!! I feel like this installment left you with more questions than answers, but kept you on your toes and unable to wait for more! I was meh about the quasi-romance going on between Amber and Nic, but we'll see how it goes in the next book.

Very good, but

She needs to learn her craft so she is not the most ignorant person about her own powers. Would recommend to family and friends

A thrilling read

I love this series more each book I read. There is so much going on here and it's a crazy mess! The Fae get their time in this book and we learn so much more about Amber's past and her parents. Nic will break your heart and I'm hoping the author finds a way to make it right for him.
