“I fell in love with a boy who handed me the pocket of his T-shirt.”

It's a rare occasion I get to experience a book that manages to deliver a heavy amount of angst without forcing my eye roll. This little bit of goodness not only provided some serious angst (in a wonderful way) but also managed to throw in enough everyday good times to make it a winner.

For some reason my review was deleted. Weird.
Anywho. It's my right to write my opinion for I paid and read at least 30% of this book. And I'm proud to announce my first DNF. Now I feel brave to DNF other books that sucks too.
In the amount I read the h was a completely dumb door mat who after 6 years after being humiliating rejected by the H, when she sees him, happens what I think is common with this author's heroines: they can't speak, form a coherent thought, find words to say or answer any question. He let the H manhandled her, took her to his hotel room and decided to spend 3 days with him, while holding a secret, what so far I thought was her right for the way she was treated by the hero.

But then, my friend decided to read through the end and she had some interesting news to share:

I really, really loved this!!
I was crying big fat ugly tears several times throughout the book.
This was one hell of an emotional roller coaster and one of the best second chance romances I have ever read.
And that epilogue? OMG! Loved it!

Stacey Lynn, you rock!

Spoilers ahead!!!!!

I rarely, rarely give a book 2 stars. That old adage if you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say it rings true to me. I truly feel that every author puts their heart and soul into their work. It's not my place to overly criticize. But this book...oh, this book.

Kennedy is a completely lovable character. Her challenges and her life story pull at my heart strings. You can identify with her. You can empathize with her decisions and with her struggles.

Grayson, on the other hand, I would like to throat punch. What a freaking coward. He leaves Kennedy at one of the most vulnerable points of her life and then has the audacity to blame her. Of course, I expect some angst. But seriously. HE LEFT HER ALL ALONE. And then just throws her under the bus at every opportunity possible.

I'm only giving this book 2 stars because the feels are amazing. I cried and laughed and it made me so freaking angry I wanted to throw my Kindle. So bravo Ms. Lynn for the feels. But I cannot willingly endorse a book where a character like Kennedy is treated so badly. The end surely does not justify the means.

I think is my right to rate because I bought it. Zero star. I'm proud to announce my very first DNF. I think I can be a quitter after all. I feel like I freed myself from all the bad reads to come.
UPDATE: My friend decided to read to the end and she had some news. Turns out the H wasn't more of a jerk than the h was a spineless selfish bitch: she decided not telling the H about their son, even after she knew how to find him, because after she saw his first fight on tv she thought it was the 1st time she saw him so happy so she"thought " the baby was going to hold him back. She just took the decision from him. Terrible woman, terrible choice.

Just One Regret by Stacey Lynn was the third book in the Just One series and can be read as a stand-alone. It was my first book by the author.

Grayson Legend was an MMA fighter known simply as the “Legend.” He never lost - we’ll rarely lost in his entire career to date. Fighting was his entire life. His way of leaving his horrific childhood behind. Unfortunately, he also left his best friend and true love behind as well.

Kennedy Knowles was a young interior designer working her way from the ground up. Nothing to celebrate yet, but her life was on track for a successful career. She dated but no one could stack up to her lost unrequited childhood love. One that shattered her heart and hadn’t looked back since.

Grayson and Kennedy unexpectedly crossed passed after six long years of silence. The story began here with Lynn providing both POV’s into their mind, emotions, heart and soul. The reunion was tense and explosive. And the storyline didn’t exactly take the expected path but Lynn did weave us through a maze of events and emotions. I read it straight through and was hooked from the beginning.

I was intrigued by Grayson from the start but not totally won over. He had to earn it. And I would be remiss in saying, what an asshole move by Grayson with “the big conflict.” No spoilers so no detailed elaboration, but Grayson had no right to his reactions. He was 100% to blame for that one. Lynn took us full circle but I wasn’t team Grayson on that move. But alas, there will be plenty who agree 100% with him - thus, the joy of diverse opinions!

Overall, it was a quick and entertaining read. I enjoyed the journey - and a journey it was. Lynn then took us through several years in the epilogue, so it was all well worth it. Sarah, Lynx and Landon now all need their own stories - and what stories they could tell.

Okay first all … THIS BOOK IS BEYOND FANTABULOUS! Second what I learned and what I love to learn is that there are other just as ridiculously great books available by a “new to me” author. What I have learned is this book is written around spin-off characters from Just One Song and Just One Week.

Grayson Legend rescued Kennedy Knowles the first time at age 14. He found her bleeding from a slap given to her by her father. Although their worlds were different they were the same. Grayson’s mother died thank goodness. She never suffered beatings like Grayson did from his alcoholic father. Kennedy’s mother was a drunk; taking the beatings but feeling no pain and never protecting Kennedy from hers. From the moment Grayson tore a piece of his shirt off to stop the bleeding on her lip they became and were inseparable. They turned to each other, comforted each other and were best friends. They had plans sitting on those swings on the playground of happy lives with families and how they were never drift apart. One night changed it all … Grayson ripped Kennedy’s heart to shreds not only devastating her. Kennedy’s secrets and her life after Grayson should stay buried for everyone’s sake.

Grayson walked away from Kennedy. He fled. Not because he wanted to but he had to. The black angel wings that span across his back are a testament to why. Grayson landed at a gym in Chicago. Finally he has found a way to harbor his anger. He is one of the best MMA fighters; punching and sub-missing his way to the top. He is of course “The Legend.”

Sarah only knows Kennedy loves MMA so what better birthday surprise than to take her to Vegas to see the upcoming MMA fight. She has no idea she watches because of Grayson. In fact she has no knowledge of the childhood friendship that ended tragically for Kennedy. She is bound and determined though to get her friend out and dating. She hasn’t seen Kennedy seriously with a man for the six years she has known her. She knows her past and knows someone hurt her but she doesn’t know who.

That’s it .. that’s all you are getting. Im telling you click this up. Now I don’t know because I haven’t read the two books listed above but I plan on doing that really soon … like in a few minutes. What I can tell you is somewhere I hope there is more Anders Twins (Landon and Lynx) and of course Sarah. You are privy to Sarah’s past so Im not sure if she already has a book out but I know we need another since her meeting Lynx. Uh huh …. !

This is a fantastic read. I love the characters, I loved the story line and I loved every single word on every single page. I am a Stacey Lynn fan! Go click this up on release day and the other books too!

Review to post on Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets on release day. I received an ARC for an honest review. Thank you Stacey! Amazing!

Reunions suck at times but I think Kennedy hit the jackpot with her reunion with Grayson, “I’m trying to figure out,” he starts to say, his words slow and deep, “if I want to eff you first, or yell at you and then eff you.” the way with words, Grayson has, "his eyes widen, sparking with interest, and his lips twitch, fighting a smile. “You want me to beat off? Here? In front of you?” I enjoyed this second chance romance sometimes you need to let go to be happy.

Meant to be

This story is lovely and touch at the same time. Sadly growing up with irresponsible and monster parents can either mess you up for life or you can use it as a motivation to achieve things in life. Such is what happened to these two main characters. Kennedy and Grayson has developed personality that are strong, self sufficient and have found solace in their bond as friends which eventually deepened to more. I like the phasing, the friends to lover has always been my thing. Sad the way Grayson left her that he failed to be with her and had her go through pregnancy and having their kid adopted by herself. But so happy they were reunited. The story has love, tragedy and HEA. Lessons on lossing and winning. Teaches us about unselfish sacrifices. Some ideas on adoption process. Overall, if people are meant to be, the universe will align and make it possible for both of you to meet again and be together. I suggest to keep a tissue box when you read this. You will need it.

This is a friends to lovers story with separation, loss, secrets, heartbreak, betrayals and second chances.

Kennedy Knowles and Grayson Legend were teen best friends and each other's biggest support until their relationship took a more serious turn when she was in college. It all fell apart in one night, with one admission, leading to one disappearance and two broken hearts.

Grayson had his own issues and secrets that contributed to his choices. And Kennedy made assumptions based on her limited knowledge of the situation. They both made mistakes and Grayson was not aware of all of the consequences.

When they meet again six years later, there is an immediate spark and need, but also pain, anger, resentment, misunderstandings, and secrets. Even as their connection is reestablishing, their past threatens to come back and knock them down.

Grayson is now a successful MMA fighter. He's strong, intense, protective, but has never really been attached to a woman other than Kennedy. He has feelings of unworthiness that have always plagued him. She was the one girl who always believed in him even when he did not believe in himself.

Kennedy is smart, sweet, and determined. But he broke her and she never really got over the loss she suffered, Even when it looks like she might get another chance with the only man she has ever loved, her secrets could destroy them again. And she has her own insecurities, self worth issues, and demons.

This is story of two people from horrible circumstances who have made mistakes, but have always fit together. But their pasts and present have pain and challenges that are not easy to face. Their choices have had consequences and they have regrets. They have many emotions to wade through. They have to forgive themselves and each other. They have to learn that running is not the answer and sometimes you have to fight for what you need...and that you have to believe you deserve it. And sometimes you have to sacrifice. And they have to decide if they can live with the choices they made and if they are forgivable.

It was told in both points of view which was important due to the secrets and intense feelings. I could feel their connection, passion, and volatile emotions. It was frustrating, passionate, sweet, heartbreaking, and heartwarming. I loved them together. But I will admit there were times that I wanted to shake Grayson, but his reactions also went hand in hand to his intensity. There were times my heart was beaten and bruised, but at others I was smiling big. But I was emotionally invested throughout and anxious to see how their story would progress.

I enjoyed the side characters especially his twin sidekicks Lynx and Landon. And her best friend Sarah (who we know from other books) was fun, supportive, and sassy. But Sarah obviously still has some issues from her own past mistakes. I would love to see more with her and also with the dynamic, sexy twins.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a second chance love story of two individuals who were torn apart after a night that forever changed their lives. Despite the fact that Grayson broke Kennedy's heart, she still hasn't gotten over him and there is still a special place in her heart for him. There are secrets she's hidden from almost everyone but the biggest one of all from Grayson...

The way Grayson handled everything between him and Kennedy is something he's always regretted, so when he gets a second chance at righting his wrong, he's determined to do it. But first he’ll have to convince Kennedy that he's all in, no matter what.

Their journey was never easy and while they now have a second chance at love, the journey is still not easy. Their chemistry is sweet, hot and tumultuous at times but once they get on the same page, it's a beautiful journey! Their story had me sniffling towards the end and rooting for them to finally get their HEA. ~ Kara, 4.5 stars

Just one regret is a decent book. I thought that the plot was pretty trite and predictable. It felt like I book I have read before (best friends who have sex, then the guy freaks and bails). Its not a bad book and I enjoy this trope. But, this book didn't bring much newness to the tale. If you enjoy the friends to lovers trope, this is a book you will enjoy. If you are over it, then don't grab this book.
The writing is good, the plot moves at a good pace, and the characters are likable! I think if I had read this book a few years ago before being inundated with all the books of this trope I would have really enjoyed it. So, its no fault of the book or the authors that I have read WAY too many books!

This is book 3. I have not read the previous books in this series. I did realize there was backstory I was not aware of when reading this story. I don't think I was at a disadvantage. I got to know these characters and their stories as I read. Kennedy and Grayson were childhood friends. They stuck together through difficulties, having unsafe and unhappy homes and parents. Then the one fateful night that friends became lovers, everything changed. Now 6 years later, these two are reunited. Sparks fly, and they are together with secrets not revealed. I liked the flow of the story and the secondary characters. This story has pains of the past, secrets, hotness, and serious tug on my emotional strings. Fights, sexy men, strong & sassy women, adorable little kids, sad memories, and a Fabulous epilogue with a HEA!

‘Separately, we were loners. Together, we found acceptance. Until he ripped it all away. Until his growth spurt took him from Mr. Unpopular to Mr. Every Girl Wanted Him. Until I committed the more grievous sin. I fell in love with my best friend. And he made it clear that it was unrequited.’

Part friends to lovers, part second chance romance and all heart! Once again Stacey Lynn has delivered an emotionally raw story that will keep you glued to the pages as you wonder what’s going to happen next. I’ve read several of Stacey Lynn’s books and really enjoyed them so when I saw the blurb for this I knew I had to check it out, it turned out to be way more than I expected based on the blurb. I can’t say much because I don’t want to risk spoiling anything, but just know that while this book deals with Kennedy and Grayson reconnecting and rebuilding their relationship after years, it also deals with a much heavier topic that takes you on a deeply emotional journey. I never would have guessed where the book went, but I thought that it was handled beautifully and honestly and will really pull at your heart strings.

“I have you back, and I don’t want to know what it’d be like to be without you again.”

Best friends since they were 14, Kennedy Knowles and Grayson Legend were inseparable. Both coming from abusive homes, they recognized a kindred spirit when they met on the swing set one night. Everything changes, however, when they are 20 and they sleep together. The morning after when Kennedy confesses her feelings for Grayson, he leaves and doesn’t look back thinking he isn’t good enough for her love. Six years later and Kennedy is still feeling the effects of Grayson’s rejection, unable to really allow herself to open her heart to anyone else. On the night of her 26th birthday, her best friend surprises her with tickets to an MMA fight in Vegas where she comes face to face with Grayson who is now known as “The Legend” and is a highly successful MMA fighter. Suddenly forced to face the one man she’s ever loved and who broke her heart so completely, Kennedy has to decide whether or not to risk it all again or to protect her heart and run. But now that Grayson has Kennedy back in his life, he’s determined not to let her get away again. But they both have their regrets and there is a huge secret that when revealed may ruin everything.

‘Kennedy thinks I hate her. I don’t. The problem is that I think I love her. Always have. I just don’t know how to forgive her. Or myself.’

There are lots of ups and downs as Grayson and Kennedy try to figure out what is going on between them. It’s clear they love each other but both have made pretty big mistakes in their past that have had profound impacts on their future. There’s a point where things are finally revealed that will totally rip your heart out, Stacey Lynn holds nothing back here and the chain of events that are set off as a result are so raw and sometimes painful. I found myself wondering how things could possibly work out without someone being hurt. I love how she handled it though and while bittersweet I thought it was a perfect resolution.

I really enjoyed this book, as always the writing was strong and it definitely packs an emotional punch. This was a sweet, sexy and bittersweet love story that at times will break your heart but by the end (and the wonderful epilogue) will have it all glued back together again!

I don't normally spend a lot of time writing reviews, though I do browse them when searching for new books or series. I enjoyed the first two books in this series, but this one fell flat for me. I think the story-line had great potential, but execution and characters were not all that impressive. The female characters in the first two books were stronger, independent, had a voice of their own; this one felt very weak to me. She lacked any sort of fight, as if she was just along for the ride. The book also felt a bit more rushed. Quick, easy read though I found myself skimming over much of the content as it lacked depth. Unfortunate.

5 out of 5 stars for Stacey Lynn Just One Regret

I've always loved books from this author. I loved her Nordic Lords MC series, so when offered the chance to have ARC copy of Just one regret I took it, and it isn't one of my regrets.

Stacey takes us straight into an intriguing story line with an stormy background and a lot of curiosity.

I became hooked from the first chapter and just couldn't put it down.

A second chance romance full of curiosity, intrigue, love, friendship, passion, pain, anger, resentment, secrets, heartbreak, understanding, and forgiveness.

It's an emotional roller coaster of being happy for the couple one minute and silently sobbing for them the next.

The connection to the characters is immediate and you connect with the twins and Sarah also. I would love hear more from them.

While I love Kennedy and Grayson there were times when my anger at them overrode my emotions and i would shout at my kindle for them to sort themselves out.

You will feel a collections of emotions while reading this book. Evoking emotions is the reason for Stacey Lynn being a favorite author of mine.

She has perfected the skill of writing just enough in each chapter to keep you needing to read to the next one that very minute, regardless that it's one in the morning and your starting a twelve hour shift at seven thirty am.

I have mixed emotions about the ending, but that's just my point of view and it wasn't that the ending was bad, it was that i wanted more!!!

Highly recommended!!!

Totally worth the read, so try it, it won't be your One Regret!!!

Stacey Lynn does not disappoint you with Just One Regret!

Kennedy is heading to a Vegas MMA fight with her best friend Sarah as part of a birthday celebration. Due to a violent upbringing, Kennedy rarely lets loose and has fun. Sarah wants her to enjoy herself, for just a small amount of time, forget her past, her regrets. Little does Sarah know but the MMA fighter The Legend is one of the reasons Kennedy hasn't dated a man in six years.
The Legend a/k/a Grayson or as Kennedy likes to remember him as the man that split her heart in two and walked away from her after one incredible night. Kennedy fell in love as a little girl with Grayson the moment he ripped his shirt pocket off so she could wipe a bloody nose (given to her by her father).
Fast forward six years, Grayson spots Kennedy in the stands during his fight and the time it takes her to blink, the fight is over and Grayson is in her face telling her not to move!
They haven't spoken in over six years, can Kennedy tell Grayson how much she loves him, has never stopped loving him? Can she revel her darkest secret that she has been carrying for the last six years? Can she forgive Grayson for ripping her heart out? Can Grayson accept her reasons? Can he forgive himself for leaving her? Can love overcome the regrets and secrets they carried with them for six years?

I am not going to reveal any more details. I loved this book!!! I laughed and cried over their story. I was in too deep from the very beginning! I loved Sarah and her love of life outlook. I think Sarah has a story to tell too and I would love to read about her too.

Thank you Stacey for the opportunity to read the book before it went live!

Review of Just One Regret by Stacey Lynn

Review done for Hooked on Books

4 ½ out of 5 stars

Grayson Legend couldn’t get out of town fast enough. After screwing up everything with his best friend, he returns home to get the beating of his life from his father. He needs to get away.

Kennedy has been in love with Grayson since the first time she saw him. He knew her dark secrets but was always there for her; until she needed him the most. Grayson broke Kennedy when he walked away after making love to her. She tried to find him but he never returned her calls.

Six years later, Kennedy is in the crowd at one of Grayson’s MMA fights. She can’t believe her eyes. She never thought she would see him again.

Grayson is also stunned to see Kennedy in the crowd, and he is not going to let her get away again.

Passion erupts between the two, but a secret Kennedy is hiding could ruin their relationship again, for good this time.

I really loved this book. I was drawn into the story right from the first chapter. I really felt all the emotions these characters were feeling. The author did an amazing job.

I definitely recommend this book to read!

Just one regret is the first book I have read by this author, I was gifted a copy to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

This book has MMA in the blurb; honestly I was sold on it from just those 3 letters. MMA means big alpha cage fighters and hell yes that works for me.

This book is sexy and sweet and at times heartbreakingly sad. Yes it totally made me cry, big fat ugly tears.

This is a true second chance romance but it had such a beautiful depth of emotion to the writing that I was touched.

Honestly I hardly read sweet romance anymore I tend to prefer my stories a little darker and grittier. But this book got to me!!

Grayson is a warrior with the heart of a marshmallow and although he has asshole periods I was overwhelmed by my hope that everything would be OK for him.

Truthfully I didn’t connect so strongly with Kennedy, I empathised with her but I just struggled to find her that likeable.

The plot of this book was a little predictable and from the very first hint I guessed what was going to happen. But this book is genuinely lovely and I’m glad i read it.

Just One Regret gets 4 stars from me

I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.

This was a first read for me by Stacey. Which brings me to the question...where the heck have her books been my entire life?? When I read the synopsis, this sounded so much like a story that fits most of the things I look for. This was a second chance romance/friends to lovers to friends to lovers story.

Kennedy and Grayson knew each other as kids, they were best friends who crossed the line and lost their friendship. Each has secrets they have kept, as they reunite they are scared that the secrets they hold will destroy the relationship they are working to rebuild.

There were so many emotions I felt throughout this book. I was scared, nervous, happy, and most of all heartbroken. I cried and I laughed (through some parts). This story grabs you from the very beginning and holds you through the very last page. The only thing I didn't love about it was that it ended. This is definitely on my reread list.

There are few authors that I one click when their books are released. Stacey Lynn is one of those authors and I was very excited when I received an ARC from Ms. Lynn in exchange for an honest review.

Just one regret had me in tears through most of it. Kennedy and Greyson are former best friends who reconnect unexpectedly after 6 years apart. The emotions and the secrets revealed make you feel as if you are in the same room as the characters in her book. She also sneaks in characters from her other books which I loved.

Some of the scenes are so raw and vivid, I wonder if the author was writing from true life experience.

If you are a fan of second chance love stories you will love Just One Regret

Ms. Lynn has another hit on her hands. I look forward to her next release.
