A year ago, Dee traveled to another world—the Crescent—and left it in ruins.

She swore she'd never go back.

In the aftermath of their society's collapse, Hunter and Crystal have been forced into hiding. But when a new faction rises to seize control of the Crescent, the threat to Hunter and Crystal becomes dire.

And there's only one person who can help them.

But for Hunter, convincing Dee to return isn't the hardest part... The hardest part is fighting his desire for her to stay.

Thanks to A. M. Yates for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review, This in no way influenced my thoughts on the book.

Book Name: Hunter (Stealer #2)
Author: A. M. Yates
Series: Stealer
Book Genre: Young Adult.

Returning to the Crescent World was FUN!!. Hunter started with mind grabbing action that immediately drew me into the book. So much happened between Stealer and Hunter that I feared I wouldn't be able to follow along but I am glad to say that I understood it just fine. Not only is Hunter a perfect sequel to Stealer, it is a great step up for the author. The series just keep getting better and better. More details about shifting is explained which is something I immensely loved because I didn't totally understand the dynamics before but in Hunter, every of my questions has been answered. Fast paced as usual with action scenes that left me breathless with excitement, Hunter was AWESOME!!. Badass as usual, Dee really impressed me in Hunter. The tension between Dee and Hunter is something that amuses me to no end, I loved their bickering. While they do say hurtful things to each other (Especially Hunter) it is still nice to see progress in their 'relationship'. The Crescent world has changed from what we used to know, Gone is that dazzling world of order. It is now replaced with Chaos , Danger(Even more than before) and uttter despondency. There is a new Apex led by Wane (the nephew of Eclipse the former high minister) who claims to be part of a plexus. All the members of Dee's plexus are now wanted and hunted. The complexity of the plexus is also further revealed, more light is shed on what the plexus is exactly and that made me love this book even more. I was very glad to see the gang recreate their bond, I thought they had drifted too afar from each other but they proved just how great they are by becoming stronger and closer. Dee's sense of humor was also a part of this book I loved, she just keeps making me love her more and more. The ending of this book is going to leave you restless and quite desperate for book 3. Fans of Dee and Hunter are going to be excited because, their feelings for each other has heightened to a level that is quite progressive. War, Romance, Humor, Adventures and everything else in Hunter makes it a must get for all Sci-Fi fans.

AUUUUUUUGH

sorry, had to get my feelings about this book out. If you've been following along with my progress, you'll know I had a lot of issues with this book. Like, a lot.

Like Stealer, a lot of things in this book aren't explained well. It was easier to accept in the first book because Dee, like the reader, was new to the world. But in Hunter, however, it's annoying as anything. Seriously. At this point, we should be able to understand why things happen and for how things work. But we don't. For instance, the Boats. We know they force Stealers to do hard work that turns them into Voids, but how? How do the Boats work? What exactly do these Stealers do? We get none of these answers. And it's frustrating.

Not to mention the characters. Of the ones in this book, the only ones I liked were Moss and Verge (only for about half of it). The others were infuriating, rude, and had absolutely no desire to even try to understand each other. Even Dee and Hunter, who are supposedly blood-bonded and thus internally connected. I don't understand. How can you be in someone's thoughts and not understand them?? They're stubborn, and not in a good way, and incredibly unlikeable. My favorite character from the first book, Dusk, was missing for all of this one, and I honestly spent the entire time wishing he'd turn up again.

The writing style itself is fine, though there's a lot of repetition which gets tiring. I can get the third book, but I'm still not sure if I'm going to read it. So far, I'm leaning towards no, because I disliked this one so much.

“Outstanding Imagination “ “intriguing “ “strong & Vivid Storyline “ “intense” The characters in this second book “Hunter” show great strength, they have strong feelings, with palpable tension, that became all consuming. I couldn’t put the book down. You know when you get a song stuck in your head? Well this storyline did the same thing. When I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it, eager to get back to it. A.M.Yates has developed the characters roles and introduced new ones that have fit in seamlessly from the first book “Stealer”. The strong feelings that ran through the book was actuated by experiencing love, hate, fear. I felt an increased heartbeat or respiration, the crying and shaking as my own. What more can I say, I lived through this book with the characters and recommend anyone interested in this genre to give this series a try. “Stealer” sets the framework, “Hunter” lets the characters grow and thrusts them through constant obstacles. The cliffhanger ending had me screaming “No !!!!!. Loved this book, loved where the storyline headed and the character development. Worthy of every one of the 5 stars I have given the book and the author, can’t wait for book.3.

This is my second time reading this series... the first Time I didn't notice this but now, honestly, I hate Dee. Don't get me wrong, I love the books and the plot, and every other character even the bad guys, but the female lead grates on my nerves. She's selfish, ignorant and doesn't seek answers to understand what it means to be bonded or in a plexus, or to understand that everything has changed. she's just so annoying. Her world got turned upside down and her home is Earth/ The Waste world, so what? She isn't the only one struggling. She's childish and sulky. She should grow up already and learn quickly instead of complaining about everything and always saying she understands or doesn't understand. Everything she does is an I or me or my, never us or we or our...

I loved being back in the Crescent world!!! When I finished Stealer a couple of months ago, it was like being Dee. I was back in my world until Hunter came along and took me back to the Crescent. And I loved being back.
Hunter definitely had more action than Stealer which made it such a great step up from the first book. It was fast paced and full of action which I loved!!
Also, Dee's character was so much more badass (if that's possible) in Hunter which made me love her character even more.
I loved that she would do anything, literally anything, for her friends and family.
The Cescent is now a place of chaos, not like before. It's a dangerous place now. Wane (nephew of Eclipse who was the former high minister) leads an Apex and claims to be part of a Plexus. While Dee's plexus are all being hunted.
Dee had to try to find everyone in her plexus. I loved that this book explained more about a plexus and what it is or what it means to be in a plexus.
My favourite thing about Dee's character was that even in dangerous situations she never lost her sarcastic streak or her witty self. She is a badass and she's brave. But I also like that you still do not know the full extent of her powers which makes me more intriguing.
The ending of this book will make you desperate to read book #3. It definitely made me desperate with start it at 1am when I finished Hunter.
Hunter's character was even more interesting and mysterious to me in this book. Since Hunter and Dee have been blood-bonded Hunter has been able to read all of Dee's thoughts but Dee has never been able to read his. But in the short few times she's been able to feel his emotions or read a into part of his mind, they have been such mysterious feelings or thoughts and it has been me more intrigued to find out more about Hunter's character.
Hunter was such a great sequel that will keep readers wanting more.
It is full of action, adventure, romance, humour and some tears too. It's a book that will keep you up all night just to see what happens next.
