Claire Davis has tried to give herself and her sisters a simple life since their mother died when she was eighteen. But appearances can be deceiving. She leads a complicated, double life as Scarlet, high class call girl, sleeping with billionaire businessmen to pay the bills. Falling in love has never been part of her plan, especially to a born heart-breaker.
Mackenzie Smitherson has one goal in life: make money, and lots of it. Except the one woman he pays to be with him also turns out to be the one woman whose heart isn’t available at any price. He wants more than her beautiful body…he wants all of her. Even if that means he has to open up his heart, and reveal his own dark past. But will Claire walk away to save her own heart before he has a chance?
I’m an award winning author who loves to write scorching hot contemporary and science fiction romance—stories I love to read. I love working from home, where my office window looks out over our ‘block’ of fourteen acres with gorgeous mountain views. After enjoying a stint as a foster carer for cats, I now have seven felines to entertain me, along with two dogs and two horses. But only when I’m not distracted by my three gorgeous daughters, one of whom—a teenager *shriek*—is still living at home. As for my husband…he’s still waiting for retirement.
Having enjoyed 'Lady in Red' I was looking forward to Scarlett/Claire and Mackenzie's story. Claire's mother died when she was eighteen, her twin sisters just thirteen and Claire became Scarlett a high class call girl. Mackenzie was one of her clients but he soon became more and she'd broken the golden rule by falling in love with a client and she panicked and pushed him away when he wanted more, telling him she didn't care. She did of course and it broke her heart when he started seeing one of the other escorts and it wasn't any easier for him to know she was still sleeping with clients. This is the part I struggle with, they both desperately want each other but yet they're both continuing to have sex with others. Now I knew after the previous book it was going to be like this so I really can't complain but I thought I'd best mention it. Claire has obviously had to make difficult choices in order to raise her sisters and Mackenzie's early life was a far cry from what it is now and I liked both these characters. That's not to say I understood them, I can't for the life of me understand understand why Scarlett pushed Mackenzie away. This is a nice quick easy romance, it goes as expected but it's a nice little journey.
I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley and Tule Publishing.
Wow! Not just steamy but hot enough to burn the pages. Word of advice, don’t read this anywhere you aren’t completely comfortable. To say Ms. Tescho has a way with words doesn’t even begin to describe how this short novella is going to make you feel. However there is more to the story than the heat, though there is plenty of that without being too overwhelming. The story takes the reader through some interesting times with both the hero and the heroine. They are not the cleanest or the most upfront, either of them. They are scarred and wary but have a chance if they could only let themselves loose for just a few moments at the same time.
This can be read as a stand alone although it is part of the VIP series. Which ever you chose, just prepare yourself to be blown away and into a whole other world of pretense.
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
So. I liked this one, I did. The story had me completely invested in whether or not Mackenzie would be able to convince Scarlet/Claire to give them a real chance, but I had to take a star off after the condom scene. It made me extremely uncomfortable for someone who proposes to care about this woman so much to deceive her like that. The rest of the story was good, although there was a bit of closure lacking with her neighborhood, and the love scenes were great (with the exception of the aforementioned one). I do enjoy this series - it's a refreshing take on the romance world and explores sex work in a way that isn't demeaning (at least in my reading of it).
This is the second book in The VIP Desire Agency Book and can be read as a stand-alone. The story is fast paced with great characters and plenty of steam. I really liked the characters and the chemistry is amazing. It was a fun journey to watch as they tore down the walls they both had put themselves and move towards a possible future together. I really liked it.
Australian call girl doesn’t want to admit she’s in love with client; client tries to win her over with money and not taking no for an answer. In real life she’d be calling the police, but because this is a romance, guess what happens? Despite the not-likely plot setting, there’s nothing here that isn’t typical. I might have been better convinced If there’d actually been a sex scene for her with someone other than him, considering she is an escort. Yet at the beginning she leaves the man who bought her time to go off into an empty room with this guy she apparently can’t say no to. The romance is equally bland, with the usual misunderstandings and lack of communication. I don’t know if it would even be called a romance; if he wasn’t so rich and handsome, his behavior would be labeled stalkerish, especially when he shows up at the hotel near the end. The best part was their backgrounds, opening up about why they’d become so closed off emotionally, but that hardly overtook how bored and unwilling I was to suspend all belief for most of this. 2.5 pushed up to 3/5
Claire "Scarlet" Davis was the one woman Mackenzie Smitherson couldn't get out of his mind. He wanted her exclusively for himself. As one of Australia's richest men, he was used to getting what he wanted. But Scarlet played hard to get and it only made Mackenzie want her even more.
After the death of her mother, Scarlet was left to raise her twin sisters on her own. She became a high class call girl with The VIP Desire Agency and was doing well for herself, even paying for her sisters to go to university. But when she wasn’t working, she just wanted to live a quiet normal life. She didn’t need a man to take care of her and falling in love was definitely not in her plans.
Scarlet might be jaded with other men, but with Mackenzie, every look and touch was exciting. Will Claire stop fighting her feelings long enough and realize Mackenzie is the man who could finally gave her a happily ever after?
This fast paced book has a lot of depth to it. Claire and Mackenzie had great chemistry and were more alike than they thought. They both had less than ideal childhoods and both worked hard for what they had. They feared commitment, but once they gave in, they realized how much they brought out the best in each other. This book contains very descriptive intimate scenes, so if you are not into that, you may want to skip the book. If you are into it, you will really enjoy this story.
"High Class" is a graphic, steamy, and hot romance. The author does a great job of incorporating the hot romance with a great storyline.
"High Class" by Mel Teshco is book number two in the "VIP Desire Agency" series. This is high class call girl, Claire aka "Scarlet" Davis and billionaire, Mackenzie Smitherson's story.
Claire's mother died when she was eighteen years old leaving her responsible for the care of her young twin sisters. This is where Claire ends up becoming high class call girl, "Scarlet". Claire's most important goal is to provide for her twin sisters who are now in college then getting out of the call girl business. So, finding true love is not in the plans for her.
There is one client ,Mackenzie, that Claire feels differently about. Claire tries to distance herself from him because she is afraid of her feelings for him.
Mackenzie can't seem to forget "Scarlet" and decides to pursue her at any cost. Will Mack convince Claire that they can have a real relationship?
FYI, includes mature content. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review.
Claire lives in a small town and has to help raise her twin sisters. With both of their parents gone, she tries to hold the family together and make sure that her sisters have everything they need. She becomes an escort but she doesn't let her sisters or friends know what she does for a living.
She is supporting them the only way she knew how. She meets Mackenzie and he falls in love with her. He has the money to keep buying her "services" while he tries to find out if she feels the same way he does.
It is a cute story with a lot of twists and turns and a lot of sex. I think you will enjoy the book I know that I did.
High Class is a sexy little read that you'll whizz through in a few hours. Book two in Mel Teschko's VIP Desire Agency series this story also works well by itself. I liked the plot, which sees a gorgeous high class prostitute fall in love with her client, an extremely wealthy and, not surprisingly, incredibly handsome businessman. I liked both Claire, the heroine of the story, and Mack, her hero. Although I liked the story overall there were a few moments where I just wasn't 100% convinced about the bona fides of Mack particularly. He didn't always behave or speak as I would have expected of a businessman as successful as he was meant to be. That aside, nice story and a good weekend read.
I enjoyed this second book in the hot, romantic and sexy VIP Desire Agency series.
Claire or as her clients call her Scarlet, is happy that she is making money to support herself and her twin sisters. She has had a share of good and bad clients but only one that has made her feel anything, Mackenzie. She is trying hard to forget him but he keeps popping up and drawing her in.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
What happens when real life crosses with a secret life? What could be a disaster of huge proportions. Such is the story of Caddie who has worked in a secret profession to have the income to raise her twin sisters. But, when she falls for one of her clients, she knows it can go no where and she stops seeing him. Mack is crestfallen because he truly loves Caddie and launches a campaign to get her back for forever. Trouble ensues but love and truth win out.
Book 2 in the VIP Desire agency series. High Class a great addition to the series so far. I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Looking forward to reading more in the series and more by Mel Teshco.
I recommend reading Lady in Red book 1 in the VIP series first to understand the story and characters. This is a steamy read and will keep you turning the page.
High Class by Mel Teshco is a romantic story with a whole lot of super hot mixed in. If you like super hot and sexy scenes, this is the story for you. It has a nice fast pace throughout the story and never a dull moment. High Class is part of a series, "The VIP Desire Agency" , but it works as a stand-alone type of book. The books in this series are: Lady in Red (The VIP Desire Agency Book 1) High Class (The VIP Desire Agency Book 2)
A fast paced sexy story of a high paid call girl, Scarlett (Claire) who leads a double life to support her younger sisters after her mom died at young age. Claire was not to open her heart to her clients but with Mackenzie she has made the mistake. Mackenzie has one goal in life, to make lots of money and not open his heart, until he meets Claire, and then he is willing to do anything for her. By opening his heart brings out his pass though.
Loved this story!! Great characters with a sizzling chemistry that will keep you turning the pages. This is the second book in the VIP Desire Agency but can be read as a stand alone.
This was a very hot story. Claire is working as a high class escort to support her two younger sisters through college. Mackenzie is a very wealthy and powerful man, who has used Claire's services in the past. The heat and connection between Claire and Mackenzie was very intense. I struggled a little bit with his borderline stalker type behavior, but it wasn't done in a creepy way. They certainly had quite the connection, and things got very heated, in more ways than one.
