Adam Jameson has kidnapped and drugged Elsa, and is driving her to a destination unknown to her. When she comes to, she devises a plan to escape, which comes off successfully. Now she and Charles must go on the run again. This time they fly off to the United States, with the children, Thomas, Stephen, Victor, and a new member of their extended “family”—Richard Grey. Long presumed dead, Victor breaks the news to Elsa that her father is indeed alive, but in body only. His mind is locked. But when they flee to America and visit Elsa’s childhood home where she was raised by her uncle Henry, Richard’s mind begins to open up. There in his childhood home, he is able to warn the others of danger. But will he ever recognize his beloved daughter? A final confrontation with Adam that involves Elsa’s friend Lisa being held hostage, and the beginning of a new life for the Grimm family in Texas will keep you turning page after page until the end of the story—which is really just the beginning of the next chapter in the saga of the life of Charles and Elsa Grimm.
Loved this book like all the others Charles’s half brother has kidnapped Elsa and drugged Charles so he can’t come for him. Elsa has to use her wits to get away from Adam but this means the family have to go on the run again until they have thrown Adam off their trail and Charles can go back to England to deal with him but Adam has other ideas and comes to America to get Elsa’s friend. They have to rescue Lisa but also stop Adam for them to be able to stop running and set roots down. Elsa also has a surprise her father is alive
Will Elsa and Charles finally catch a break? There's so much going on in this book and I recommend you start from the beginning to fully understand what is going on. I can't wait to read the final book in the Deadly Secrets series to find out if Charles and Elsa finally get their HEA. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
The story will keep you glued to see what happens next. This the the seventh book in this series. You should read them in order to get a better understanding of the story and characters. You will not be disappointed.
This is a fantastic and well written book. An intense story line that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and hot chemistry.
