Living a Vineyard Dream

Rate this book
Cliff Ehrlich's dream was to own a vineyard in the Napa Valley even though he had never farmed and knew nothing about growing grapes. His search took a couple of years. Along the way, he learned about the pioneers drawn to the valley who transformed it from wheat farming to winegrowing - names like Krug, de Latour, Tchelistcheff, and Mondavi. And he met the people who today call Napa Valley home and work as farmers, winemakers, vineyard owners, winery owners, well drillers, and realtors. Join Cliff as he and Patricia search for the right location. Look over his shoulder as he learns the vineyard business and makes decisions about grape varieties, rootstock, and trellis systems. It's a story told with candor, honesty, and a few chuckles - and goes best with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon or Sauvignon Blanc. Enjoy!

A "must read" for wine lovers!

A great tale told by someone with a deep affection for the Napa Valley and for growing wine grapes. Terrific insights into what it takes to become part of the dynamic wine industry. Informative, interesting and easy to read.
