Black Lilith #1

Black Lilith

Rate this book
When Mikayla Strong graduated college, she expected to hit the ground running. Instead, she’s stuck getting coffee and spellchecking contracts for BassNote Productions. She won’t give up her dream of working in events management, but no matter how many hours she spends scrolling through job ads during her lunch breaks there just don’t seem to be any jobs anymore.

A chance meeting with the drummer of Black Lilith, a hot new band getting ready for its first international tour, sends Mikayla careening out of her comfort zone and into a world of sex, drugs, and rock n roll. She goes from overqualified barista to overqualified PA overnight, and even though the band’s lead singer, Logan Todd, pushes all of her buttons, Mikayla thinks she might just be able to make this new job work for her.

But Black Lilith isn’t as tightknit as they seem in interviews. As Mikayla gets to know the four band members better, a web of lies and heartbreak begins to show itself. Between fans with knives, fights in hotel corridors, and the band’s very strict ‘no dating PAs’ rule, Mikayla’s growing attraction to Logan Todd may be the least of her problems. At this rate, she’ll be lucky if she makes it to the end of the tour...

"I want to say thanks for making me belong."

Awww Logan. This boy is really frustrating sometimes but he has sweet and romantic side. He got trust issues and I totally understand where it's coming from, but still doesn't stop me for want to smack himsome senses. He's a sexy hot lead singer, so what's not to love right?
As for Mikayla. This girl has been through a lot since young age and she's got no family (her mother totally unreliable) to lean on to, she always all alone. The negativity from those years made her feels so unworthy, but this girl is a fighter, she works really hard and totally deserves more. And she can handle this messy band members, so yes I adore her.

This book is a Rockstar Romance book. It's been a while since I read this kind of book, so this one a breath of fresh air for me. This is also my first book from Hazel Jacobs and definitely won't be the last. Can't wait to read the rest of the band's member stories, love them all.
It's a fun and wild road trip with Black Lilith. The banters are awesome, the hotness is great, I laughed, smiled and bit frustrated (thanks to Logan). Love all the characters, love the story, yup love Black Lilith. Although it's written in third person and not much drama happening, I really enjoying it.

If you love Rockstar Romance. This one is a MUST-READ one.

I love a good rockstar romance and this book did not disappoint. Mik is the new PA for the rock band Black Lilith, the way she came to this position was slightly different from the typical hiring process but and these guys welcome her with open wide open. I love all the guys and each one of their personalities, Logan is the lead singer and seems to be the one to look over all the guys as though they're all his blood brothers. We get to learn a bit about Mik and her family as well as to why Logan is the way he is with anyone outside of the band. I am loving book 1 and cannot wait to continue to rock out with all these guys in book 2 All Or Nothing. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

This book was given to me for an honest review.

5 stars

This was a book that gets you at the beginning, keeps you going in the middle, and makes you want more in the end. All I can say is I loved this book. The band members were awesome. There is not one of them that is out of place, with all the different personalities it works even better then expected. How the opening starts I loved to. How impulsive Slate is to hire Mikayla, because of a contract that she had put together, but just how he reads her, makes the story come alive. It shows how a band is perceived one way, but really that could be farther from the truth. The love the band shows each other, flows through the whole story and wants you to know more about each member of the band. And Mikayla, I loved her. She was everything the band needed. The band needed a rock and that is what she gave them. A sister in terms to keep them in line but give them the freedom that the needed as a rock group. I loved the chemistry between Mikayla and Logan. They fought it, but hiding it could be their downfall. Even though you can see what is happening between them, there is one strict rule. No dating PA's. so what happens when they let things happen and they have to hide it from the band. How can they survive if there are secrets from each other. The story is just more than a story. It's about how life ends up giving you more than you think and how you have to choose if you want to take it or not. Even though the story is about Mikayla and Logan, all the band members are involved. Each have a story to tell. And it shows throughout the book. I know I said it before, but I love how stories come together and mix everyones life together and I think more and more that makes the story more complete than anything. I loved how there were different venues, how the author told about their past but never let it fill the book just to get an extra chapter in, I loved how you see a love blossom but be pulled apart with lies, and I love how you see each of the band members grow up more and more throughout the book. That shows me that this a great author.

I am hoping , or I guess what I am saying I hope that I interpret this ending correct and I see more of the rock band. It seems to me that Tommy has his work cut out for him in the next book. I want to see what becomes of Mikayla and Logan. I want everyone to get a book, because that is how good that story is. I want to to be able to complete everyones story and know they will be ok. This author has given me a story that I can read over and over again and not get bored with it.

If you enjoy rocker books you will want to read this book. It has it all secrets, sex and rock and roll..
When Mikayla becomes the PA for Black Lilith she decides to watch them from the crowd before meeting them back stage What she didn't expect was to lock eyes with the lead singer Logan, trouble is he can't look away either. The band have a strict no fraternising with the PA rule but Logan is finding it extremely hard to abide by the rule he put in place.
The rule was put in place for a reason and part of that reason was to cover up secrets, will the secrets push Logan and Mikayla apart or pull them together. The characters are amazing and everything I expect from a rock band. The sex is sizzling and i was hooked from the first page, I hope we don't have too long to wait for more from the boys of Black Lilith and this author.
Great well written book

I give the book 4.5/5 concert tickets.

Black Lilith is a name of the band. A very popular rock band.

This is my first time to read a story about a rock band. The behind-the-scenes, the after shows, the backstage happenings, the road tours and the groupies are all laid out open here. The details of managing a rock band and dealing with its individual members are also explained. Very well researched. This is as far as I can go to being a groupie without actually having to go beyond my comfort zone.

The two protagonists--Mikayla and Logan, first meeting here was so awkward. Of the two, I think Mikayla was the lucky one in this encounter. She was at the right place at the right that she ended up being the new personal assistant of Black Lilith. A very coveted place to be--to be surrounded by talented and good looking rock gods of Black Lilith. If in real life, by some stroke of luck or by some loop hole in the universe and I end up becoming a personal assistant for a popular band, let's say Lifehouse. I would greedily grab the opportunity. It's not everyday and not everyone gets to work closely, 24/7 with their favorite band. I think it's one of the best jobs in the world. Yes, fan-girling here.

Obviously, from the start, Mikayla and Logan were attracted to each other but because it is a big No-No that band members fraternize with PA's, they both tried to deny their feelings for each other. But, "out of sight, out of mind." Seeing and working with each other everyday, round the clock definitely only made them drawn closer to each other even if they try to act otherwise. Feelings, the more you hide them, the worst they smell.

I felt the tension and the awkwardness of the two forbidden lover's situation. It permeates the room even if I was just a bystander. The story is rife with strong emotions and discord between the band members. I can feel vibes right where I was sitting. It was so easy to get carried away and become part of the story. I think the cover absolutely fits the tone and atmosphere of the story. It's dark and black. This maybe a story about a rock band but this does not give out an all giddy and light feeling. Like the same feeling of lightness or flying after watching The Script concert here in Manila. This story is filled with dark and heavy emotions. I was actually astounded to realize that this was how the story made me feel. I'm saying it's a good thing.

I give the book 4.5/5 concert tickets. I like how the story ended. All issues and misunderstanding among band members have been cleared. Mikayla gets the boy and she also gets her dream job which is to be an events manager. I guess, it's just right to end this story on a lighter note. This book sets the benchmark for all stories which feature bands in them. I think I will be comparing the next stories of the same theme to this one. This one is right there at the top of the pile. Looking forward to next stories in this series. I am prepared to be shown to the inner workings and horrors of the limelight.

Treat me like your daughter and not your punching bag.

Slate offers Mikayla a job as PA to the band Black Lilith and after she’s told how much the band pays, she accepts. The drummer is good looking, very nice, she likes him, and she hates her current job so it’s a no brainer. When she meets the rest of the band after watching them perform, she’s mesmerized by the lead singer, Logan.
Logan watched Mikayla sitting in the front row and he had no idea she was his new PA. They both watched each other and couldn’t look away. This starts their journey of love and trust. This was to be a temporary gig for Mikayla, would she be able to walk from these guys? I loved all of the members of Black Lilith, especially Tommy. So I’m happy his story is next on my list. This is a fast paced story, I read half the book last night, Logan and Mikayla are still fighting their chemistry but it’s useless. When these two got together I thought my Kindle was going to explode, it was hot. This story is absolutely delicious and I highly recommend it. I’m giving this book five stars and can’t wait to start book two.

For the month of May I choose to read two indie authors and two best sellers. The indie books I choose were those by the authors running the Dark and Dirty event at the Borgata in Atlantic City next summer. Black Lilith, by Hazel Jacobs, is her debut novel but she has several more in the series out already. I’m a tad behind.
I write romance novels about musicians, so this is right up my alley. Or up my… Okay this wasn’t that kind of book. It’s sexy but not over the top dirty. I wanted more dirty. Logan and Mik seemed like they could be even hotter. The story was well written, but I'm not a fan of third person present tense. I look forward to more by Hazel as i play catch up on the series.

Much like author Kylie Scott's books about Rockers and the women who help them in their lives, this author rocks the genre as well.
Enjoyed the tour with the four guys. it was a bit tidier than some rocker books as they treated their P.A. with respect and their sex lives were not a huge part of story or distraction. Nominal drug use and closer knit group of artists kept this story from "too much".
Looking forward to more in the series as I've come to enjoy each member.

The story was a settle in and enjoy kind of experience. It's got rock stars and romance and secrets and lots of steam. It also had a bit of that slow build relationship I really enjoy that sometimes helps to make the connection between the characters more real for me.

In this story we have rock band Black Lilith. The four men have recently lost their PA and are in need of a new one. An awkward yet funny first meeting with one of the band members leads to Mikayla Strong being offered the job. This job offer leads to another very awkward first meeting with another member of the band, however this one is a game changer.

When Mikayla and lead singer Logan first meet, it doesn't set things off the way either of them were hoping. A "No Dating the PA" rule means they need to fight their attraction and keep their distance so that lines aren't crossed. But their chemistry is impossible to fight and the two have to figure out what they are willing to risk and what their real priorities are.

So Logan was a leading man that while he had his secrets, and he didn't always say the right thing at the right time, I still absolutely loved him. His dedication to the band was obvious. His love of his little brother, who is also a member of the band, is clear and endearing. And his concern and consideration for Mikayla, even when they weren't supposed to be anything more than friends at best had me rooting for him despite the secrets and hoping they worked everything out.

Mikayla went into her job with Black Lilith never dreaming where it could lead. The money was good and it was a stepping stone toward what she had always planned to do with her life. She lost her father years before and her relationship with her mother leaves a lot to be desired, so forming connections with people doesn't come easy for her. Black Lilith changes that for her. I loved watching her connect to each member in a different and yet special way and the way they all affect and change her.

In the end this was a great book that I definitely recommend. Fans of rock star romance stories will love this, and I hope to see more of these loveable men in the future.

"'See something you like?' she asks, hoping that her tone is light and airy. She thinks she pulls it off. His eyes linger over her for a moment longer before he answers, 'Yeah,' and then turns back to join the others in the hotel lobby."

5 black lilith stars!!! One of my favorite rock romance books to date!!!

Mikayla is a recent college graduate and she thought she'd land the job of her dreams soon after. Sadly, that hasn't happened, she's essentially a gopher... but that doesn't stop her from searching for her dream job still. Luck changes when she runs into the drummer of Black Lilith and she ends up on tour with them as their PA, and trust me when I say her world is turned upside down. While on tour, she feels a spark between her and the lead singer Logan, even though he knows how to get under her skin. Happy with her job and the potential with Logan, she notices that this happy on the outside band, had secrets and lies that can break this whole thing up... and let's not forget the whole no messing with the PA's rule.... Can she survive this crazy ride??

As soon as I started reading the book I knew I'd love it. I'm a sucker for rock romances and this one has everything. Angst, tension, secrets, hot dirty chemistry, and hot dirty rockstars!!! It was hard for me to put this book down, I really loved it so much!!! This is the first book I've read by Hazel, but it won't be last, that I can tell you for certain!! And I can't wait for more!!!

I just couldn't put it down! Black Lilith is such a great read! Every couple of pages I'd say to myself "Ok, I'll put it down after this page and continue after..." but I literally had the book with me all day even continuing to read it whilst I made breakfast and lunch and while I put my baby to sleep. I started it in the morning and by the afternoon I was finished and wanted more!! I will definitely be getting the next one. Can't wait to read what happens next, soooooo good!!

I am a huge fan of the band Black Lilith. When Mikalya joins the band as their PA, she meets the lead singer Logan and boy is she is attracted to him. Too bad Logan will not do anything about his feelings as he is under band rules not to date the PA. Enjoy this story as we get to know the guys in the band. They are fun loving, talented guys with a heart of gold. Can anything happen between Logan and Mikalya? You will enjoy finding out.

I Really Like This Book, Rockstar Books Are Some Of My Favourites To Read And I Can Honestly Say I Really Enjoyed The Story And All The Characters.

I Was Instantly Drawn To The Boys In The Band, Slash, Dash And Tommy Were So Loveable All The Way Through This Book But I Wanted To Throat Punch Logan On More Than One Occasion For His Treatment of Mikayla.

Mik Was Awesome And Strong, She Was Up Against So Much In This Book And She Held Her Head High With Everything Thrown At Her And I Loved Her For That.

This Cat And Mouse Love Story Was Heartbreaking And Funny As Hell In Parts I Really Hope I Get To Read More From This Awesome Band Of Characters As The Potential Is Amazing.

Definitely A Great And A Must Read For A Rockstar Romance Story Lover.

It is no real surprise that rock star romances are my favorite guilt pleasure reads and this one hit the spot. It drew me in from page one and I was instantly addicted. I fell in love with each one of these characters, the forbidden romance and the mystery that was weaved between the pages. This was a fun read full of romance, angst and all the drama that comes from being in a popular rock band on tour.

I really thought that the writing was going to be the downfall to me liking this read. I really struggle with books written in the third person. Usually it makes it hard for me to connect to the characters, but this one surprised me. I do wish that it would have been written in first person, but the writing did not hinder the story for me. I still was able to get to know these characters and feel like I knew who they were.

My absolutely favorite thing about this book was the amazing characters. I LOVED all of the men of Black Lilith. They each had their own, unique personalities and the connection between the band members was very evident. Although I loved all the band members, Slate was my favorite and I can’t wait to get my hands on his book. I also really loved Mikayla and related to her character a lot. Although she was a perfectionist, she still was fun. Her story line of wanting to fit in and find a place where she belonged really hit home and I think it will do the same with other readers.

The romance was good, but came off a little luke warm at times. It was a bit insta-lovey. I wish that there would have been more time for Mikalya and Logan to get to know each other. They spent so much time avoiding each other and fighting that I never felt like they got to know one another before expressing their feelings. I think that it would have pushed this book up to 5 star rating if the romance would have been more consuming.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable rock star romance. It followed some tropes, but I loved every minute of it. I have already purchased the next two books and can’t wait to see what Hazel Jacobs comes up with next!

There was just something about this book that I can't put my finger on...in the best way possible!

I am a complete sucker for the Rockstar genre but there was so much more to this book than just that...

I was literally taken aback with the amount of depth in this book - it was such an awesome read!

The dynamics between the band members (Black Lilith) was perfect - this one felt like a puzzle where all the pieces just seemed to fit together so well! Connections were formed from a foundation that seemed to grow more steady as the pages turned.

I loved our introduction to the band - through a member who was NOT the main character in this book!

For me, it felt like meeting the band, through Slate (drummer) almost solidified the importance of the other band members in this book!

Perfect introduction to a group of characters I knew I was going to want to read more about.

This book was written beautifully!

Each character seemed to get enough time in the book to give them personality and a voice that was heard loud enough without being too loud to drown out the story unfolding between the main love interests - Mikayla and Logan.

As with the all best stories, there was a hell of a lot of miscommunications and misunderstandings to make the details of this one relatable and such a worthy read!

I cannot wait to stage dive into the next book in this series!

Hazel Jacobs you have won yourself a fan with this amazing story and characters.

5+ stars for this Rockstar tale that delivers the goods in everyway possible!

This is a ROCKER BOOK MUST READ!

Hazel Jacobs, you definitely wrote one heck of a ROCKER book. I mean this story is full of depth and the plot is a reminder of the days when I read my first rocker books that made me fall in love with the genre. This is not a story about the playboy rocker that sleeps with a million girls beginning, middle or end - NO! This goes right into a whole story that includes an excellent love story and also a deep love of each and every character in the book, well, maybe minus one or 2??

Let's just say that the author gives you the perfect introductory book for this band and this series. I can not wait to start the next book as soon as I finish typing this review.

"It’s a new day, I’m gonna pretend yesterday never hurt me. Don’t be surprised if I start singing. I’m proving that I’m better even if it f***ing kills me. Cuz when I’m lying in my bed later tonight, I’ll look back on this day and know that I made it"

Will this be my best review?
Probably not but only bc I'm really anxious to get through this series and read about the 4 boys Hazel Jacobs created and had me fall in love with. THIS was outstanding writing - thinking out of the box and at first I thought it was going to be strange reading from a different POV but I forgot how many books I've read in third person and love looking in. Outstanding and Refreshing -

Now off I go!!! It's time for My Sweet Boy < I've already called ownership

Black Lilith is the first book in this rockstar series, and I could not put this book down! The writing is well done—grabbing you from the get go, keeping a steady pace and making you feel like one of the band. And that’s just what Mikayla discovers when she signs on as PA to Black Lilith—that once you meet these guys you can’t help but love them all. The mutual attraction that she and lead singer, Logan, have towards one another is undeniable, but quickly becomes awkward as they both are held to being professional according to the band rule: no dating PAs. It’s even harder to resist as Mikayla and the band become like family on tour and the situation becomes certain that some rules are meant to be broken. It was fun to go “on tour” with Black Lilith and learn about the business and how life is when you’re in a band. Add in some humor, music, action and friendship and it became the perfect blend for a rockstar romance. I look forward to the next book in this series and what is in store for the rest of the guys!

oh wow i'm always a sucker for a hot singer with tattoos and Logan does it for me, he is delicious.

story starts off with mikayla who finishes college with the hope of becoming an event manager but with no hope of finding a job she has to settle for a crap job with bad pay. until she meets slate a drummer with the band black Lilith who need a PA to help them start climbing the music ladder.

we then meet Logan the bands lead singer who pushes all of mikayla's buttons and pushes them good. they argue a lot in the beginning cause Logan is pretty guarded cause of what happened with there last PA which you find out about during the course of the story.

as we know Logan and mikayla fall for each other they have great chemistry and Logan is hot enough said.

can't wait to read Tommy's story next in all or nothing i'm really looking forward to slate's story as he made me laugh out loud in this book.

all in all a cracking book and i'm now on to the next one.

Black Lilith was a fun read. I loved the dynamic between Mikayla and Logan, and all their tension. But my favorite was the character development throughout the book. Hazel does a fantastic job of making the band members feel real, relatable, and unique, and I loved all their little quirks.

Such a great book - I highly recommend it, and can't wait to finish the series!!

I really loved this book. Once I started I didn't want to put it down. Mikayla is a great female lead character. I loved getting to know the guys in the band as well. This book takes you on tour with the band and you get to see a few sides of the characters. It has its heights and lows and your emotions follows those.
I can't wait to read the next books. I want to know more about these other band members.

Yes! I am so excited! I am a Rockstar Romance fanatic, I love all things Rockstar and I found a brand new Rockstar romance series that I can binge on.

Black Lilith is Ms Jacobs' debut novel and I am surprised by that. When I finished Black Lilith I could have sworn this was an experienced multi-published author and was shocked to see that this was her first book. The characters are perfect and I quickly fell in love with them all. The plot is exciting and interesting without being too angst filled or dramatic. There was the perfect amount of feeling and story to keep you hooked and looking for more.

Logan is *sigh*...how can I explain him. Lead singer with a voice that makes you swoon, tattoos, sexy hair, and just down right gorgeous all around. Due to past experience he has made a rule "No dating the band's PA" but that rule comes back and bites him in the ass when Mikayla is hired by Slate, the band's drummer. Logan cannot get over how attracted he is to her but he fights it even though he growls at others who give her attention and hasn't taken a groupie home sense he's met her.

Mikayla is looking for a temporary job that is going to help her pay for her student loans. She never expected to go from coffee runs to touring with the world famous band, Black Lilith. Even more, she never expected to have such a profound reaction to the band's lead singer. He's hot, sexy, and everything she lusts for but he's made his rule and won't break it. She quickly falls in love with all the band members but her feeling towards Logan are way past brotherly love and she's not sure what to do about that.

The chemistry between these two is off the charts. The way they dance around each other is borderline exhausting. You literally want to just scream at them but the wait makes it all worth it. A problem with a hotel puts them in a precarious situation and they simply cannot fight it any more. One thing leads to another and pretty soon, she turns into Logan's dirty little secret. Secrets lead to lies which lead to problems that they never saw coming.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes Rockstars who are more brothers than bandmates and who would lay down their lives for one another. Once they accept you into their tight nit group, you'll never want to leave.

One of the best things about this book was it gave a voice to each and every one of the characters. Each band member's personality was clearly established with just enough hidden to make you ache for their story. I loved how Mikayla developed an individual relationship with each band member and she took on the roll of mama bear for them all.

This book was truly a wonderful experience. Ms Jacobs has hooked herself a fan for life.
