When prominent business leader Franklin Pierce is shot to death in the shower, all eyes turn on his wife. After all, the homicide detectives’ rule one is “the spouse did it.” It doesn’t help that Margaret lies to police or that her marriage is falling apart. Especially when tragedy pulls the rug out from under him, threatening his very sanity.Welcome to another Brady Flynn Legal Thriller by D. K. McIntosh. Justice Delayed is Book 4 in the Brady Flynn Legal Thriller Series.
Entertaining and enjoyable read. Fast paced and keeps your attention. Last one in series has some typos that need to be addressed but does not take away from the story. Well written.
Just finished " Justice Delayed " , the Third of D.K. McIntosh's 'Brady Flynn' Novels, and, as a connoisseur of Legal Fiction, I say . " Kudos to Mr McIntosh for a fine set Characters, some Suspenseful and Dramatic Tales, and a gift for involving the reader in the lives and cases told therein." Hope to read more about Brady Flynn, his Family, Staff and Clientele.
Younger wife is accused of killing her husband. Problem step daughter is kicked out of the house by her father and now living with maternal grandmother. All the characters are well defined, you can relate to them. Fast moving trial, lawyer also dealing with family tragedy. Title of the book from the start gave away the ending for me.
Mount Vernon, Skagit County. Franklin Pierce (lawyer, Harvard) was going to enjoy his hot shower. 3 shots, he would never have to take a shower again. Deputy Sheriff Allen Crider (Skagit County) arrived at the crime scene. Detective Mike Jones, Detective Nick Soros, & Deputy Sheriff Jones (Skagit County lead homicide Detective) were next to arrive.
Snohomish County. Brady met with Margaret, & George Condon (Margaret’s father). Detective Jones, & Detective Soros hadn’t come up with much evidence yet. The aJanz. 38 cal. revolver & shell casings that killed Franklin had disappeared. A $250,000 double indemnity life insurance policy could come in quite handy to the widow. Margaret was taken into custody for the murder of her husband Franklin. Mount Vernon. State v. Margaret Pierce. Judge Thomas Ramsey was presiding. Donald Hanson (Sr. Deputy/lead Prosecutor, JD), & Brady (JD) were at their respective benches. $1-million bail was set.
What did Dalton Fitzgerald (father, Diablo Motorcycle Club president), come see Brady about? Mattie Flynn (Jennifer’s daughter) was in the ER, then transferred to Level 1 trauma center. She had been with her BFF’s; Sonja, & Katie at the lake & had gotten thrown of the back of a motorcycle. Dr. Gunter (chief neurologist, attending physician) was giving the Brady & Dr. Jennifer Flynn (wife/mother, psychologist) an update. Washington St. Patrol Trooper Ben Sterling came to visit with the parents. All rise Judge Thomas Ramsey will be presiding in Skagit County Superior Court. State v. Pierce. The trial of Margaret Pierce (wife/mother, world class skeet shooter) is charged with the murder of Franklin Pierce (husband/father, co-CEO).
Witnesses called were: Detective Nick Soros, Mrs. Marion Shane, Patrol Deputy Allen Crider, Duane Gregory (WA forensic firearm tech.), Dane Jameson (golf pro, Margaret’s lover), Sheriff/Detective Michael Jones, Judge Phillip Martinez (Pierce family friend), Mrs. Sherrill Smith, & Mrs. Marie Jorgenson (32), was the only 1 who stated; under the advice of my attorney, I assert my 5th amendment rights & refuse to answer the question.
Mattie had been transferred to the Northwest Spine & Neurological Rehabilitation Center. Brady & Jennifer were happy about that. What will the verdict be?
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written Legal Thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great Legal Thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.
Thank you for the free author; BookSends; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; book Tony Parsons MSW (Washburn)
I have been an avid reader my entire life. Unfortunately, mistakes in usage, grammar, voice, even punctuation jump out at me when I read. There were enough of these distractions as I was reading this book that I was sorely tempted to abandon it. The upside is that the story was interesting enough to compel me to stick with it. Self publishing is a real boon to authors, but having reliable eyes for editing is even more critical.
geez...I can't believe i keep getting sucked into this series. Long-winded, boring story-telling, not well written, needs an editor, and more, it needs pacing and plot cohesion.
But it's free with Amazon Kindle Unlimited...so...
The author has a way of dragging out the most unlikely person for the attorney to defend, and when you have almost given up hope for them he twists the knife one more time.
A Brady Flynn winner. McIntosh continues a great series with Brady Flynn. Characters are nicely developed and the twists and turns move the story along.
Good.. Збудљиво,напето и кад пичнеп даје читаш, непрњкидш колико си заинтригиран.. Крининакни заплети али пеавда увњк побеђ ује натериотне начине. Наоисанамастефриозно!
The pace of the book was consistent and allowed the reader to stay engaged. Two stories in one and both were perfectly written. I'll recommend it to friends and family.
