Ekki eins mikil nostalgía og ég hélt. Finnst hann aðeins vanmeta hversu mikið börn geta skilið og munað. Líka smá pirrandi hvernig hann setti sig inn svo oft sem sögumann. Annars alveg klassík af góðri ástæðu
This was one of my absolute favorite books from my childhood!! I found this shortened but full of color illustrations "The Movie Storybook" edition early this past Summer and decided to bring it home to read to my 7 year old son because he still favors illustrations. Although I haven't read this to my son yet, I did sit down and read it myself this evening and found it to be a great version for my son and although the story was drastically shortened, I think it tells the basic outline of this wonderful book!
While nothing can quite compare to the full novel, Eliot and Olive shared this version with me for our lending library. I hope that it will introduce others to many grand and imaginative adventures in classic literature.
I read this book as a kid, but recently went back and read it again before the movie came out. Really easy read and lets your imagination run wild. If you are into symbolism, this book has alot! (Christian or otherwise). Really reads differently when you are an adult, you get a whole lot more out of it and catch things you didn't catch before....I also recommend any other CS Lewis books for this same reason!
Okay so now that I have reread it and know that Aslan represents Jesus, I can't imagine how I missed that when I read if the first time or to my girls when they were young. And as a story for kids, it's a bit violent, and the ending is a bit too rushed and confusing. I'm debating whether I want to read more and see if it hangs together better as an adventure story and how overt the Christian message gets.
What i liked about this book is that there was a bunch of adventure in it and mythical creatures. What i didn't liek abut this book is that Edmund betrayed his sibblings and goes to the white whitch .
Not gonna lie, I liked the movie way better than the book. The way the book is written, the way the characters talk, everything was just ridiculous. I actually read a different version of this book, the one that's 189 pages. Anyways, yeah, so I gave it 2 stars because it was just ok.
I was unable to find the actual version that my brother owned of the box set. In any case, this was the only book in the Chronicles of Narnia that I remember reading. I loved it!
Even for a children's book, the Christian symbology of Narnia is extremely heavy handed. J.R.R. Tolkien and J.K. Rowling (among others) have covered this ground better.
It was very exiting and very well told!I have never seen the whole movie so I finlly got to now the end of the story! I really liked it so,I give it 3 stars!
I think that this book is a really awesome book because it is going to other plases and there is a big battle and it is an awesome book so i think you should read it.
The lion the witch and the wardrobe is a great book but was very sad. The book inspired me and taught me that imagination can be very strong in someone's life. Over all great book loved it.
