“I was sent to kill her.” There was one rule for this job. No witnesses.
Then I saw her. She wasn't supposed to be there, and I can only imagine what those dirtbags had been planning for her with her gorgeous blonde hair and her deadly curves. So I did the one thing I knew I shouldn't: I killed every a**hole in that room and I took her as my prize.
I don't save people's lives. I'm a killer, a hired hitman for the Russian mob. But I tell her to trust me, and I mean it. I'm not going to let anyone take her away from me. I'd sworn off women long ago, but I can't resist her long legs and wicked mind, and every time I tell myself I'm being foolish, she gets down on her knees and begs me not to leave her.
I'd rather die than lose her and the baby I know she'll give me.
A full length Standalone Romantic Suspense novel. No Cliffhangers. Safe from cheating. Explicit language & swearing.
Alexis Abbott is a Wall Street Journal & USA Today bestselling author who writes about dangerous men and the women who love them. If you can't resist a bad boy who is a good man, you just found your next addiction. With heart-stopping action, mouth watering sex, and passionate romances that will leave you breathless, Alexis Abbott writes romantic thrillers like no one else can.
When she's not writing your next book boyfriend, you'll find her living a real life romance novel with her own bad boy soulmate in Bonavista, Newfoundland, Canada.
I enjoyed this one much more than the other book I read by this author. I enjoyed the story and characters. It got pretty hot and only some cheesy parts. The suspense story is fairly gory but he is a hitman.
He is a MINE I will get you pregnant kind of hero. Which is a guilty pleasure of mine.
As usual Author Alexis Abbott style, she rocked this book! I was graciously gifted an ARC of this story and loved every minute of it!
Why only 4.5 Stars, well for me, I wanted MORE romance time with my H and h but other than that it was great! The writing was great, the storyline was intriguing and engaging and the characters were terrific!!!! This was fast paced and yes, insta-love/insta-lust BUT luckily for me and my finicky ways, lol, it was all done just right for me!!!!!!
If you like hot-n-heavy insta-love, dark heroes with bossy tendencies and over-the-top criminal mafia violence, then this novella is for you.
Mikhail is a hitman for the Russian mafia, and the novel starts out with him releasing a little (ahem!) personal tension before embarking on an epic hit in a posh hotel penthouse. He mows through the bad guys and their bodyguards in minute detail and comes across Alicia, who is close to passing out from the date rape drugs given to her by her nefarious boss. Mikhail doesn't kill innocents, so he takes her captive. She is a witness after all.
Alicia wakes sick and confused and eyeing the Russian man candy who claims to be protecting her. From what and from whom she doesn't quite remember. Events and motives eventually get explained, but in the meantime, Alicia decides it is all right to take a few licks of that candy. Actually, a speeding bullet can't match the swiftness with which she falls for the tattooed bad man sporting the bodacious biceps and the intriguing accent. I found the quick infatuation unrealistic, along with the copious amount of time these two spend going at it. Allie as a person is barely introduced to the reader before she is on her knees, bent over and otherwise engaged. The only component to her personality that really comes through is lust and an unreasoning devotion to a man who has abducted her, even if he is keeping her alive for the time being.
We have a better understanding of Mikhail. The Russian gangster is more complex than the blonde office girl. Alexis Abbott explains his motivations and works hard to take him from anti-hero to avenging Lothario. She manages it too, in just one impressive paragraph.
"It's not how I'm used to working, but I can take my love and I can make it into a deadly weapon, just as I took my loneliness and hurt and turned it into one. I can make this anger and rage and desire to protect even more potent than what I had before."
During the brief time Mikhail and Allie are on the run, she comes into her own under the assassin's tutelage. It is wholly unexpected. As predictable as portions of this book were, I didn't foresee Allie's grasp of her situation and how the mafia revenge plot would play out.
For those of you who eat up epilogues like muffins for breakfast, you will get a tummy ache off of the one Ms. Abbott pens for you. It should also be noted that there are two bonus books in the version that I read, and Captive of the Hitman ends at 31%.
SPOILERS HERE PLEASE LOOK AWAY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW
Well this book was awesome for me. I loved the hero. He sees the heroine and even if it means his life is over he protects her at all cost. He is gone over her and wants to trap her into his life the only way he knows how...you guessed it a baby. This is not the first thought he gets but it's the reality of his affection for the heroine. Now before everyone gets upset over this I have to say it's also what she wanted as well. He told her his intention and tried to get her to leave but she dared to go after what she wanted. This was her dream as well. I loved everything about this book even the violent parts they made the story come to life for me. From the first scene when instead of whoring around he is jerking himself off, I say ok well that's different! This book is mostly different and unpredictable. The action goes from in scene to the next and even the sex scene are awesome. Yoga mats...who knew? Keeper

I just discovered this author on Facebook, and after reading this book I'm left thinking, 'How have I never heard of her before?' She literally blew me out of the water with this amazing story. I'm all about the bad boy in my romance novels, but Alexis Abbott takes it to the next level! She doesn't mess around.
Captive of the Hitman is a fast paced, intense, and unbelievably HOT read! I have to admit that this is my first book with the concept of the heroine falling in love with the hitman that was meant to kill her, but decides to rescue her instead. And not only does he keep her alive, but he takes it upon himself to protect her from outside forces as well. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it or not, but I REALLY loved it.
Mikhail isn't the type of boy you bring home to meet your momma. No way! This guy is a skilled killer, but the moment he lays eyes on Alicia, he's putty in her hands, whether he realizes it or not. He's brutish and the ultimate alpha, but there were moments where he was so unbelievably tender with his girl, that it endeared him to me.
And Alicia, she wasn't what I expected either. As I read, I thought she was just going to be this scared little victim, but that didn't happen. She really stepped up, protected her man when she could, and she trusted him immensely despite what he did for a living.
Once again, I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this story, the only thing I regret about this whole thing is that I didn't discover this author sooner. I will be rectifying that shortly, by reading the remaining of her work.
Thank you Alexis for bringing me into your dark, beautiful, twisted world!
Mikhail is the hitman for the Bratva. His next assignment is to assassinate a politician along with several business men. Mikhail finds the perfect opportunity when they decide to party at a swanky hotel. The only problem is Alicia was not supposed to be there. He was ordered to have no witnesses but there is no way Mikhail is killing an innocent woman. He takes Alicia to his safe house for her protection. Unfortunately, the cameras at the hotel prove that she was at the scene and the Bratva now know she is a witness that got away. Mikhail will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
Alexis Abbott was on fire with this book. It starts and ends with pure action and not one dull moment! I love Alexis’s bad boys. They are stone cold killers who believe they can’t love or be loved in return, yet they have morals and protect the innocent. I love to see the unloved fall and fall hard.

I guess I was hoping for another Russian Lullaby, and maybe it is, but... Not sure why, other than the author failed to keep me invested, and I don't usually like mafia books anyways? So DNF at 16% i kept putting it down to read other stuff. Never a good sign and life is too short. Not saying I won't try this author again... shrug.
OMFG what an amazing book!!! I could not put it down once i started, it really pulls you into it from the first word to the very last one!!! And the male character is just... Total badass and hot and extremely dangerous!!! Mikhail is a deadly hitman!!! When a 'job' takes a complicated turn... His life as he knows it... Gone!!! Alicia is in the totally wrong place at the wrong time!!! When a situation arises... Her life takes on a new direction... In every way!!! I refuse to give spoilers, so i'm just going to say... DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS BRILLIANT BOOK!!! With twists and turns at every page, they will keep you reading and unable to stop, and will leave you wanting more!!! With certain scenes that will leave you panting... Yes they are that hot... The whole book is written with a fantastic passion!!! Ms Abbott has certainly outdone herself with this story and has well and truly earned a full 5 stars from me... And i can not wait to see what she has planned next... I for one will be waiting in desperation, thats for sure!!!
Captive of the Hitman by Alexis Abbott is....WOW..Loved It.
Terrorizing, Tantalizing, Scorching Hot and so much more. Squeal..
What would you do if you woke up and didn't remember anything from the night before? And what would you do if you woke up to one of the most sexiest guys you've ever seen, only to find out your now his captive. Dam, lol
Great, Great story that is fast paced and will have you glued to the pages.. You will feel all sorts of things, first terror then relief then terror again. Shew. The. way the writer tells the story is so good. You get to experience both Alicia's terror then acceptance and Mikhail's torment as he fights with his heart over what he should do.
This was an alright read. I thought the story was good, but could have been better. I thought the characters were okay. I did not love them or dislike them. I just never really connected to them. The suspense and action was good, I wish there was more of it in the book. I will read other books in the series. I found out that this can be read as part of the series or as a standalone as each book Features a different couple. Overall, an okay read.
Michail is a Russian hitman, he saved a woman for the hit he just made . Her name is Alicia she wake up not knowing where she's at the only thing she knows is that she's been drugged. Alica sees Michail she doesn't understand what's gong on she has no other choice than to trust him. As your reading you can't stop until you get to the end. Enjoyable read
Holy Hotness! Totally Captivating! Little Kitten & Her Hitman!
Holy Hotness! Captive Of The Hitman kept me "captive" from beginning to end. This story is full of action, suspense, characters with great chemistry, romance, steamy sex scenes, and alternating POV. There is a bad, boy hitman with a dirty mouth. The author didn't forget the good girl, who is smart and loyal to her man. Captive Of The Hitman is a wild ride with many twists and turns, but there is a happily ever after for Mikhail and Alicia. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a bad boy with a soft(er) for the woman he loves, or a good girl who can be bad when her or her man's life is threatened. This is an intense book that I loved. I enjoyed that we got to check back in with previous characters, Leon, Cherry & their club/group, even briefly. For me, it gave me more insight & made me appreciate both books more (Saved By The Outlaw). Both books are standalone and don't need to read one to understand the other.
Mikhail is a hitman for the Russian mob, Bratva. He was hired and supposed to kill everyone at a party. Mikhail discovers a woman there and can't kill her. He refuses to kill women and child. Alicia had gone out to dinner with her boss the congressman. She ended up drugged and brought to a party without her knowledge. Mikhail takes Alicia captive instead of killing her and brings her to his safe house. When Alicia wakes up, she doesn't really remember the night before and is confused about where she is. Mikhail tells Alicia that he brought her to his safe house for her safety. He claims that he will let her go / release Alicia when things quiet down or forget that she was there. Mikhail and Alicia are both very attracted to each other. When Mikhail tries to leave, Alicia doesn't want him leave her alone. Alicia is torn about how she feels about Mikhail. When Mikhail's boss discovers that he left a witness alive, Alicia is no longer safe and his safe house is compromised. Mikhail is no longer safe for that matter either. He feels very protective of Alicia and doesn't take it very well when someone goes after her. Mikhail doesn't show his emotions, but with Alicia he does. She sees Mikhail's rough side. He shows Alicia his true self, the good and bad. She learns that Mikhail is a hitman / killer for the Russian mob. Alicia discovers that he never lies to her. Even though Alicia looks for ways to leave and when given the chance, Alicia never does leaves Mikhail. Alicia is kidnapped again by men working for Mikhail's boss. He must get her back and save her from the sadistic, Russian mob guy/crazy man. Then Mikhail teaches Alicia to defend herself / shot a gun. She stands by her man until the end of the story.
I loved this book. I adored Alicia and Mikhail together. Thank Alexis for the ending. My favorite scene has to be when Alicia discovers Mikhail working out. All I can say is WOW! Totally an alpha male moment. I received this arc book for an unbiased review, and this is my unbiased review. I enjoyed this book so much that I choice to purchase this book.
Overall Rating = 5 Stars! Hotness / Sexy Level = 4 1/2 Stars! Recommend to Others = Hell Yes! POV = Alternating (each chapter) Bad Boy / Alpha Male = Yes! Cliffhanger = No
OMG HOT!!! 50 Shades of Gray has NOTHING on this story!!
From the very first sentence I was hooked...and holy cow the character detail!! I seriously have the sexiest man EVER rolling around in my head...HOT Russian Hitman!! Plagued my dreams all night for sure!!
The author has an amazing imagination and talent for telling a story. Even though this was a shorter book and it literally only took me 4 hours to read it, the author left nothing out of the story line at all. Every step is detailed to the point that I felt I was physically a part of the story.
And the sex scenes OH. MY. GODDESS!!! I'm getting hot flashes just thinking about them!! If I wasn't a happily married woman I don't think I would mind running into this guy for some fun...that's for sure!! It's extremely intense and just WOW!!
I highly recommend this book, especially if you liked the sexual intensity of 50 Shades!
This could've been a good read, but unfortunately it reads amateurish to me. Props to the author for having it edited, I'm not talking about typos. If you're into Captive romances as I am, but aren't so hung up on skill, this may be fine for you. I'd suggest downloading the sample and seeing how that works for you with this one.
I can see that so many people enjoyed this book but unfortunately it just didn't work for me. I can see the appeal, a hot mafia hitman sent to kill but can't so it and ends up taking for the girl. We've seen these storylines before and they can be great. For me it felt like the author threw every stereotype and everything we've ever heard about hitman and captors into this book. I was just too much especially for a short book Also those sex scenes...they were so cringy and I had to skip them at times. I feel like the author could have developed a few of the key parts of the book more instead of throwing in a little of everything. This one was just not for me sorry.

This is the 4th book I have read by this author. After meeting Mikhail (our H) and Alicia (our h) in Saved by the Outlaw, I've been waiting on this book.
Mikhail is a deadly Russian hitman that never fails to get the job done. He is sent to take out a hit on a congressman and his associates. While watching the men go into a hotel, he notices a woman that shouldn't be there. She appears to be out of it and Mikhail figures she will just be another witness in the wrong place at the wrong time. As he makes his way from room to room, killing man after man, he hesitates when he gets to the woman and decides to spare her and save her instead.
Alicia works for a congressman and has been invited out with him and his associates. It appears that she has been slipped something in her drink because she is out of it as Mikhail is killing all the men. She wakes up in a safe house with no memory of what happen or how she got there. Mikhail is there to take care of her while also keeping his distance but Alicia is attracted to him in a way she hasn't before. It takes a little while for her to realize that her life is really in danger.
Mikhail realizes his boss knows that he didn't kill Alicia and he decides to put a sleazy guy on the job of finding out what happen to her. Mikhail decides to take Alicia to his brother Leon's club for protection while he figures out what to do. When Leon's club can't keep her there and decides to send her to someone that owes them a favor in return for Mikhail doing a hit, the bad guys catch up to the new lovers.
I love this authors books. I can easily get lost in them. There is danger from bad guys and plenty of fireworks between the 2 lead characters. Another great book.
How do you explain to someone that although they think they aren't good enough for you, they are actually the person that you need? In this insta-love story we have two people fighting the pull they have towards one another until they cannot fight the attraction any longer. There is so much action in this story that it forces the two to put their trust into the others hands and believe that they will come out stronger on the other side.
I have always enjoyed the books I have read by Alexis Abbott, she does not fail to make the stories as action pact as she can while lacing them with a heavy does of chemistry between the H and h. If you enjoy bad boy mafia romances you should definitely give this one a try, you wont be disappointed!
**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.**

Steamy, intense, addictive, and captivating, with twists and turns thrown in to keep you on the edge of your seat. Captive of the Hitman is supremely well-written, has an excellent story-line and great characters. Don't expect to be able to put it down.
I received a courtesy copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another hit! Fantastic.....fast read! Loved it....it isn't just a love story. There is drama...suspense...action packed.. as well HOT! Strong female characters always make me happy and Allie definetly fit the description to a tee Mickalhi was alpha...strong...protective...and loving. Cmt wait for more!
This was just an ok read for me. The writing was good, and I think the author did a good job telling her story, but there was something missing for me. I can't really put my finger on it, and I hate when that happens, but I just didn't really get into it. There were slow parts that kinda dragged and then there would be parts that were action packed. I did really like the ending though :)
Stockholm at its finest. No real conversations between the two, but it's lurrrrrrve. Mostly because she gets off on it being taboo... which she mentions about every other paragraph. We get it- you're really a dirty girl.
Hot dark and damgerous, mafia hitman saves the girl and then follows.. blood guts and glory, meets hot and sexy with a good load of mystery... all rounder on the feels!!
If you like HOT, sexy, tough-as-nails hitmen, this book's for you! Alexis Abbott brings lots of action, suspense, sexy-times, and sweet love to this story of a hitman and the young woman he saves and then decides to keep for himself. It's insta-love/lust on the run! Captive of the Hitman is a very exciting, suspenseful, action-packed quick read with well-developed characters who you can't help but root for. Mikhail and Alicia are quite the couple! Grab this book and give this talented author a try!
Review in the works! can honestly say I wasn’t prepared for the first sentence in the book! Hey, not that it’s a bad thing at all. As long as you love some quick, steamy love then you’re good! Alexis also mentions in the description that it does include explicit language and swearing. There is an abundance of violence and sexy times throughout the story. Granted this should be obvious to the reader (the title for example) that the theme surrounds the story. But just in case, be prepared for sexual situations, explicit language, and violence.
Mikhail does his job and does it well. He’s swift, ruthless, dedicated and never hesitates. He’s a contracted killer who survives a rough childhood, even scarier adult life and will stop at nothing to get the job done. He never lets anyone close because if he does, then it’s more than just his life at risk. It’s the risk of someone else and a weakness that can be used against him. How many times has he seen that himself? How many times has he used that exact option against a mark? Mikhail can survive on his own, he doesn’t need the love of anyone. But does he really? What happens when his job is compromised and he goes against every single rule he has? Will he survive his latest hit?
Alicia has worked hard to get where she is. She realizes that part of her appeal is her good looks, but she works even harder to be viewed as who she really is. A strong, intelligent, dedicated woman. She’s working for a congressman who she has no idea is not only crooked but dangerous. She willing went with him to a networking party, she should be safe right? He wouldn’t put her in a position that would get her hurt right? The last thing she remembers is being given a drink or two. She wakes up a full day later with bits of fuzzy memories. She’s with a man in a strange house. She recognizes nothing and is immediately on the defenses. She’s thinking she did something wrong and can’t accept what’s going on when Mikhail gives her a bit of information. Will she survive getting away from this man and getting to safety? It has to be a mistake or a joke someone is playing on her. What does she do when everything goes to hell and she realizes that she has no choice but to rely on this strange man? Will she survive it?
For the first time in his life, he hesitates. There is something about her that draws him and he knows that he can’t take her life. It’s as if they’re drawn together by fate and their new mission is to find out who set him up and why. It’s a dark and dangerous world that Alicia never expected to see. She would be completely dense to not know that shady moments make up the world just as much as the good ones. But why her? Why him? Can they do this together? Will their love be enough?
Creative adoration (positives): I loved that Alexis didn’t hold anything back. Right off the bat, you get a peek into Mikhail's mind and motivation. He’s so strong, fierce and you can’t help but see a bit of lightness in him that was sparked by Alicia. For a person who has suffered through this huge ordeal, it makes Alicia stronger and braver. Her ability to catch on quickly and fight for what she loves and believes in is incredible. Yes, she’s perceived as being all the stereotypical bimbo types. When it comes down to it, she has no qualms about fighting. Both characters are very complex and I loved them!
Creative indifference (negatives): It almost felt like the pace was a little too fast. They move around so quickly it was hard to pick up where they were sometimes or who the extra characters were.
Creative appraisal (overall): This is an awesome read! It’s not exactly what I expected and I love that. Alexis has created a story set in a world that really exists. The corruption of politics, organizations is a part of everyday life, even if we choose to ignore it. I appreciate the creative way she was able to bring it to the forefront and with interesting details. I say run out and get this one for yourself today! Full of sexy times, a hero with a light heart (deep down) and a heroine who can be just as ruthless as her lovable hero.
Mikhail is a hitman for the Russian Bratva. He is on a hit and his target is a politician. He methodically takes out men until he gets to his target and in the mix is a beautiful woman. He is a hitman and witnesses are not good for his business. One thing though, Mikhail is not into hurting, much less killing women.
Alicia had been invited by her boss to dinner with his associates. She is trying to make it in her career and accepts the invitation. Little did she know how her night would end. She wakes up scared and feels like she just had a horrible nightmare, and suddenly realizes all is not well. Not only does she feel extremely sick, she has no idea where she is and who the man with her is. Things get even worse when he practically tells her she needs to stay there, with little explanation as to what is going on. Mikhail finds out Alicia isn't just some bar chick that was picked up for the night by the congressman and Alicia doesn't know if she can trust the things her captor is telling her. There is no way her boss would have drugged her, and if he did, this man is more her savior than captor.
I really enjoyed this read. Mikhail is not only a ruthless hitman, he is a loner and has no need for emotional ties of any kind. He stays away from all kinds of relationships because he understands in his kind of business it could be a weakness that could be used against him. As he tries to maintain a detachment from Alicia, he feels himself weakening. Alicia's thought is to escape this hard man. She puts up somewhat of a fight, but when given the opportunity to do just that and escape, she doesn't leave.
From here we get a very hot, fast paced, and intense read as together Mikhail and Alicia try to stay safe and at the same time fight the enemies that are coming after them. They fall for each other very quickly and you not only see a softer side of Mikhail, but a very brave and supportive side of Alicia. She adapted rather quickly to who Mikhail was and what needed to be done.
There are violent graphic scenes in this book, but at the same time you see Mikhail's loving and protective side when it comes to Alicia.
Sweet Epilogue
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I don't know why I have such as fascination with romance novels involving hitman, but I do. Yea, yea, before you judge me, I know there is nothing glamorous about this world; but, what can I say? I'm a sucker for a sexy, single killer. "Captive of the Hitman," was a fascinating tale that was also hot as Hades.
Alicia was just out with a group of her fellow co-workers and the senator while working on his re-election campaign. They all headed back to the hotel where she blacked out, but when she finally woke up, she was in a strange room, in a strange bed and with a scary Russian stranger.
Dimitri is a hitman who is very good at his job; but, his one rule us he doesn't kill women or children. So when he discovers that his current hit on a senator has an innocent woman in the mix and he realizes she has been drugged so that the men can take advantage of her, he makes a decision to save her life. However, never did he expect that this one act will put him at odds with the mob bosses and puts him on a collision course leading right to lust, love and danger.
This was my first book by author, Alexis Abbott and I really enjoyed this read. The world building was great, the characters were interesting and a bit flawed, and the sex was off the charts. I will definitely check out other books from this author and in this series.
