After having witnessed her homeworld being nearly obliterated by the Furies, Ryonna goes on a quest to rescue her brother-in-law who might have stumbled onto a technological advantage the Earth Alliance so direly needs.
Meanwhile, the Furies are creating a fleet of advanced ships. As soon as their first super destroyer is ready to deploy, they decide the time has come to teach the Earth Alliance a lesson in power.
Can the Earth Alliance repel such a powerful enemy? And at what cost?
Aided by an abundance of Sci-Fi characters with supernatural powers, Bestselling Sci-Fi author Christian Kallias has a secret. He lives two lives. One in the real world and one inside his own creations, in worlds where he can lay down the foundation of his universes for both his and your enjoyment. Guess which one he prefers?
Christian Kallias is the bestselling author of the award-winning Universe in Flames Space Opera series.
This book will give the reader a lot to think about. We see Chase on what could be his death bed, Chris his son displaying his own powers and Argos changing sides. The battle for earth has started and things are not going well. But the biggest surprise is that another race of aliens come to fight. Looking forward to reading more in the next book.
Oh, I'm a big fan of Christian Kallias' books, and this part of the Universe in Flames series was every bit a good as the previous books. I would highly recommend any of the books that Christian has written, including his recent book: Across the Galactic Pond, which I recommend as well. It's so good that I am patiently (yeah, I live about five miles from patient) for some more 'Kevin' adventures, hint, hint..... I actually wrote a review for Rise of the Ultra Fury, but apparently Goodreads lost it; but I am happy to e-wrote it just to make sure that all of you can read more kudos for an excellent writer.
Every time you think it must get better for the Earth Alliance another powerful enemy shows up. The story begins with Chase on the point of death and a significant part of the book he is in the underworld being trained by Hades whilst back in the real world most of the characters are either battling for the lives or battling their internal demons. I find this series a real joy, it is like one of the old serials, each week a new problem or enemy appears and the endings are always a shock. I have already started the next one it is impossible not too.
Rise of the Ultra Fury is the fifth book in the Universe in Flames series. This should not be read as a standalone as each book builds on the storyline. Beware, this book ends in a major cliffhanger. There is violence...this is a war between species afterall. Can the Earth Alliance possibly win against the Furies? This series is definitely worth reading!
Although I don't normally like to read series, as they never seem to end, I like this series. It seems as if theses books seem to borrow a lot from old and new sci-fi movies and books. Be that as it may the book is still entertaining.
Boom and there goes another spanner in the works lol. What a great storyline that was and the fickle gods keep turning up lol. Looking forward to the next episode. Well worth five star's
Kindle Unlimited, tho first one might be permafree or whatever. Space opera plus, think that is the 'genre' if you have to have one. I liked it, it having a little bit of almost everything and even some humor although noticed one of the reviews {which only glance at and only after already reading the book} said might have been unintentional...but to my way of thinking maybe the reader just found it humorous. As far as things not being realistic or whatever, well it's space opera and we are not in space for real yet so who knows, besides perhaps the writers of doctor who or star trek or the like, I mean come on Olympian Gods and you are just at what point thinking some things aren't 'real' enough
Earth Last Sanctuary (Universe in Flames Book 1) Fury to the Stars (Universe in Flames Book 2) Destination Oblivion (Universe in Flames Book 3) The Beginning of the End (Universe in Flames Book 4) Rise of the Ultra Fury (Universe in Flames Book 5) Shadows of Olympus (Universe in Flames Book 6) Armageddon Unleashed (Universe in Flames Book 7)
Wow! Intense and heart pounding. The use of 'gods' in the books means the stories can go in unexpected directions, adding a fantasy twist to the sci-fi. I like the mix of characters more with each book, though I am reserving judgement on Argos. I feel there may be something up his sleeve.
Such a fantastic story, it's exciting, fascinating, heart stopping, and the cliff hanger? WTF! What can I say, except bring on the next book, I've already got it and can't wait to start. Christian Kallias' writing is pure genius! I don't know how he can pack so much into a series of six books, it doesn't get boring it's just as exciting in the fifth as it is In the first. Will be sad when I finish the sixth
There's a upside and a downside this author does it will
What you where a kid you whent to the moves every Saturday and injoyed the move but the best part was whiching the cliffhanger form the week before . That joy is in Christian Mallika's writing and storyline. Thank you.
Just finished reading book 5 in the series and it was even better then the first 4 and they were very good. There was even more action then in the first ones and I thought they were great. These are a must have for anyone who likes action packed reads.
