The book that changed my opinion about the american medical writing
Conrad Fischer, the man who knows what the examiner want you to know and gives it within a small meal of knowledge.

It is a 566 pages book, every word can be a question, first he stated that the USMLE wants you to know the answer of 5 questions about each topic:
What is the most likely diagnosis? (The most common question I have faced during the
exam)
What is the best initial test?
What is the most accurate?
What is the best initial ttt?
What is the most appropriate next step?

These 5 qs constitute about 95 % of the exam qs

MTB answered all these 5 while discussing each topic
You may think it is not enough, especially after solving UW, but I think MTB is most summarized book I have seen, and at the same time did not neglect any important information.

You can depend on MTB in building up your basic pyramid of knowledge, and UW will warn you about the missing parts that MTB did not mention (like stats)

I recommend it for revision or as a basic reading source for those with no enough time.

I actually really enjoyed reading this book. The flow is perfect. I will say that it does lack some material however - it does not have a statistics section, but I just used my old First Aid for Step 1. When compared to First Aid for Step 2 CK, First Aid definitely has a lot more information in it but is more difficult to read through. If you're under a time crunch, I recommend Master the Boards, but if you're aiming for a higher score, I would recommend using First Aid or both First Aid and Master the Boards (regardless, the USMLE World Question Bank is essential). I used a combination of First Aid and Master the Boards - I did not have time to read both books, but I supplemented with First Aid on topics that I found more challenging, and I found this combination to be extremely helpful.

Step 2 CS is a strong predictor of neuroticism that’s used to pick who’s likely to be best at a job requiring flexibility and empathy. It is therefore completely useless, but since our ability to measure intangible features of reality is a society-level fiction you’d only hurt yourself by protesting. Instead, use this book to quickly and easily learn the useless minutiae our licensing cartel has deemed necessary to practicing medicine!

Some chapters are rich with information , and some are poor in comparison to the other chapters . Almost all chapters by Conrad Fischer are mostly perfect. Independantly, exams content is different from what you have studied and that may vary from one to one according extent of your previous knowledge.

For the most part this book is pretty spot on, I only wish I had more time to memorize it as a lot of its tips quickly slip out of your head. Some sections were not as "high yield" and succinct as they could be (namely the antibiotics section) However this is one of the few review books that I've used that you can actually sit down and read, unlike first aid which is just a list of facts. I'm happy with my choice to use this book for Step 2

Very helpful book!

“Summerised yet comprehensive” exactly what doctors need for their clinical practice and exams as well.

If you are preparing for board exams it may not be enough but definitely helpful for the last 3 months review before the exam. I recommend using it alongside relevant MCQs.

The book contains side boxes and mnemonics that ease memorizing.

There is a recent third edition to the book but I have read this one as I bought it before the newest edition.

The book presents high yield and relevant information in an easy to read format, however, I felt like it did not cover all the topics on the USMLE Step 2CK exam. For this reason, I feel like the book isn't really recommended as a main resource, only potentially as a secondary resource for the exam.

I personally know the author so it’s readable and digestible to say the least , though it lacks many essentials
