Celebrity health expert and four-time New York Times bestselling author, JJ Virgin reveals how one life-altering event taught her to tap into an indomitable mindset, trust her instincts, and defy the odds, ultimately saving her son’s life…and her own. She’ll share the lessons she learned that can help you create your own resilient mindset.
In 2012, JJ Virgin was in a hospital room next to her sixteen-year-old son who was struck by a hit-and-run driver and left for dead. She was told by doctors that he wouldn’t last through the night and to let him go. With every reason to give up, JJ chose instead to invest her energy into the hope that her son would not just survive, but thrive. In Miracle Mindset , she shares the lessons that gave her the courage to overcome the worst moment of her life.
During this difficult time, she learned valuable personal lessons that helped her rebuild her life and find success and purpose in herself, her work, and teach her sons and community how to face their own obstacles and trials. Lessons like “Don’t Wish It Were Easier, Make Yourself Stronger” and “Your Limitations will Become Your Life” will lead you to your own personal power and purpose, even when the deck seems stacked against you.
With true stories from her life, her clients, and other well-known thought leaders, she can help you transform your mindset and your daily habits to endure the difficult battles that life sends your way. Insightful, personal, and completely relatable, Miracle Mindset proves that miracles are possible when you show up, remain positive, and do the work.
Such an inspirational book. Through the struggles JJ and her family experienced in the wake of a tragedy ... you see the strength and perseverance that exists deep down in all of us.
Amazingly simple advice for everyone to create a miracle mindset in ourselves. Remembering daily to ask yourself "what went well today" and "what are you pretending not to know".
Wow, what a recovery!!! JJ's son should not be alive. At the very least, he should be a huddle mass of pain and disability, but his recovery is beyond anyone's wildest expectations!! It's the power of positive thinking (and a lot of assertiveness on his family's part) on steroids!! I felt inspired "reading" this audiobook. Ms. Virgin is a great speaker!
Great story of how to go after what you believe in no matter what the powers that be may tell you. Make decisions with the information you have at the time. Do not second guess yourself. Use new information to make new decisions. Learn from every decision and move on.
Her story is saving her son's life with a health care system that did not believe the effort was worth it because he would be brain dead and die shortly anyway.
I first heard about JJ Virgin on The Ultimate Health Podcast and I was so intrigued by her story. I had NO idea the book would be this good - not only did it teach to literally take one step at a time but to always be positive - I took so much away from this book and I can't wait to share it with others. A great story and life lessons all in one book. #mayernikkitchen
I wanted to rate this book 3.5 stars. It is an incredible sorry about Grant’s perseverance through a tragic event and how his parents helped to advocate for him along each step of the way. However, I found the author’s tone a bit off putting and I couldn’t get beyond that. She had many privileges afforded to her to help her be an advocate for her son (e.g. her ex husband’s family members had a medical background as well as support and suggestions from a slew of her followers). I feel like she didn’t acknowledge that some of her gains were due to privilege and they although someone without her access could advocate in the way she suggested, they wouldn’t know what to ask for.
Wow! This story is extremely powerful! Despite the story itself gives you strength, inspires you and help you realize the importance of living, it is an alarming reminder to believe in you and your abilities. You can do many things, just by being yourself. And the problems you may have, as overwhelming as might be, can be solved. Thank you for sharing JJ!
Started off well. Hooked me in, yet then where I thought the book would lead, it didn't. Wish she'd concluded with a better recap. Interesting journey of hope and belief. Yet miracle mindset was not the title I'd have given it. Felt as if what seemed to propel her was fear (she went back and forth on that aspect. Faith, belief, or fear) and a no fail attitude. Miracle is how it seemed to start but I thought ended with different conclusion.
