This book has colorful activity pages for kids to review their knowledge before going into 6th grade. It comes with a summer progress map, where you can use the enclosed stickers to mark your progress when you complete a page or activity. There are bonus questions and extra outside activities that will earn you special achievement stickers too! Once the book is complete, you get an award certificate.

You can review over math: dividing fractions, doing word problems, and finding the volume of objects. There are great sections for creative writing and reading comprehension. There is a science section that talks about the relative size of planets in the solar system (but poor Pluto is not included). And I really loved the history sections about the Mongol Empire.

But there is a section about hominins that talks about evolution as if it were proven fact instead of a theory. Odd to find misleading information in these books, since they are usually so reliable.

There are answers in the back of the book to check your work. There is also a set of flashcards that you can cut out of the book for testing your knowledge. There is a reading list of books that you can check off as you read them.

This book has so many cool features! Every single page is full of brightly colored illustrations and information boxes. The activities are really interesting and fun!

Planning to use this with my 10 year old this summer. Has a wide range of activities, a lot of instructions for parents and students in how to use it and lots of outside "extra" activity ideas. I especially like that it has a laminated "map" in the back where the child puts stickers to track their progress. It is filled with history, language arts, science, social studies and math.
