The first four volumes of InsaneMooncake's first novel, The Song of Swords.
On a Continent where peaceful times are swiftly coming to an end, witness the rise of a young slave as he tries to climb to the peak of power. With a little luck gifted by the heavens and the determination to continue striving to be the best, will he become a figure who stands above all others or will he be another insignificant bump in history?
This omnibus was enjoyable. There were some grammatical issues but they did not greatly detract from the reading. Some odd moments of attempted modern humour that somehow did not mesh. Overall, good story and it is hoped that there will be a book five. Would like too learn more about Jia's two brothers and the Lin family...
Interesting concept, but MC is a DB. Not a lot of redeeming qualities I can find in the character, and the attempts at humor were forced at best. Can't say if I will get the next in the series. But, like I said, it was an interesting concept.
