DNF halfway into Chapter 3.

The telepathic half goat/man that compelled the main to strip half naked and dry hump him was entirely too weird and cringe for me.

I adored this book!
It's been years since I've really enjoyed paranormal and I'm so glad I gave this a chance!
It was a lighter, sweet read without a ton of drama.
Although very different from the books I've come to love from this author she did an amazing job taking a chance with this genre.
I loved the story, the imagination and the characters- I totally fell for Jasper!
And.... Is there more to this story??? Hmmmm?? Ms Jessica that ending leaves me wondering if we will venture into The Green again in the future....

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Overall Opinion: This was a cute story. It felt like it took me for-ev-er to read though! I think it's just everything else going on in the world right now that has been distracting me from reading, but I do know that there were some parts that felt a little slow to where it didn't take much to distract me. That being said -- I still enjoyed the world Ms. Gadziala built and enjoyed the characters. I did, however, want some more closure at the end relating to the couple. Overall, it was still an enjoyable read!

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Cece and Jasper's story. Cece moves in with a weird but lovable girl that ends up going missing. Right after she decides to file a police report, she meets Jasper, the girl's brother, and goes with him on a mission to find his sister. What she doesn't expect is that he takes her into the "green" which is another world where magic and fae exist. Cece has so much to learn and they have all sorts of forces against them in getting Jasper's sister back. There are some suspenseful scenes, some big secrets revealed, some funny moments, some sexy times...and they get a HFN ending.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Cece and Jasper's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Alright. It did feel a little slow at times and I actually skimmed a little of the sex scenes.

Instalove: No, they take a while to give in and develop stronger feelings.

H (Hero) rating: 4 stars. Jasper. I liked him. He was protective (but not in an overbearing way), sweet under the tough shell, and sexy.

h (heroine) rating: 4 stars. Cecelia. I liked her too. I appreciated her strength, loyalty, and honesty.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes, but only physically

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This ends in a good place but what I would call a HFN ending since it seems as though there are going to be more books in the series. There was not as much closure as I would've liked for the actual couple tbh.

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

When the boyfriend walks, money talks and it was telling Cece she needed to find a new apartment with a roommate. What she found was Jade, a quirky, but sweet flower-child type who has a heart of gold. When she goes missing, Cece must confront an intruder in their apartment, an intruder who turns out to be Jade’s twin, Jasper. You know what they say about first impressions, right? Let’s say two porcupines fighting over a treasured morsel would be less prickly! From that moment on, Cece would never be the same as she goes on a woman hunt for Jade with Jasper in a place where fairytale creatures are real, and sometimes very deadly.

As Cece, Jasper and Doyle, Jade’s ex-boyfriend traverse the land of the Green, there will be heartache, terror and revelations beyond shocking, especially for Cece! Will they find Jade? Why would she go willingly back to a land she ran from years before? Will Cece get caught in the middle of devious fae from both the light and dark courts? Who can she trust and why? Will she ever get back to the human world alive? Will she remain alive? And Jasper, how can she be falling for the most aggravating man in both realms, especially when he acts like such a, um, jerk?

Who knew Jessica Gadziala could create a dreamy fantasy tale beyond those sizzling romances she does so well? Into the Green is a tale filled with the magic of Jessica Gadziala’s pen that has a wonderful dose of attitude, confrontations, and romance with a spoonful of humor at just the right moments!

I loved Cece, she was so clueless, but so full of heart, but heaven help us, that woman can toss attitude! Jasper, wow, a hot and handsome guy, but whoa, the back off vibes were just flying, typical guy response, when some woman is making him get all distracted when he is on a rescue mission, I know. Doyle? The man is a warm-hearted riot who can’t help if he can’t be faithful!
In case you’re thinking Jessica Gadziala forgot some of those freaking hot scenes, nope, not at all, trust me! This is fantasy for adults, exciting, different and not quite like those tales we read as children.

I received this copy from Jessica Gadziala in exchange for my honest review.

Fantasy and paranormal books used to be the only kinds of books I would read and as I got older I slowly gravitated to historical and now contemporary. Into the Green reminded me of why I fell in love with fantasy in the first place. I was immediately sucked into this magical world. The writing came to life in my mind and as I read the story, it visually played out like a cinematic adventure.

One thing Jessica’s books seem to all have is an amazing cast of characters. This book is no exception. Cece is a little lost but resilient and a very likeable heroine. Jasper is a moody and protective hottie and both are determined to find his sister. The side characters and creatures are intriguing and set us up for another epic series.

The Green is a realm of dark and light fae bordering our own world. Fae drift in and out between the realms, it’s beautiful, it’s seductive, but it’s deceivingly dangerous if you don't know how to navigate through its mysterious borders.

"You can’t trust anything you see...There is no such thing as safe here. But if you stay close to me, we should make it out of here."

Into The Green had everything I love in a good book. It made me laugh and cry, there was romance and adventure, mystery and plot that held me captive ‘til the end. I absolutely loved it!!!

I NEED more of this series! Really hoping for a Jade & Doyle book, but I REALLY want to read more about Drake! Oh my what a hottie and I think his story would make for an epic read!!!!!

DISCLAIMER TO THOSE READING MY REVIEW:
This review is my personal opinion, it may contain swearing, quotes, rants, and spoilers!!!
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK....

I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest opinion!!

Another freaking AMAZING book by Jessica Gadziala, I can honestly say that everything that I have read from her so far has been 5 stars for me!! I absolutely loved that she has gone over to the paranormal realm now too!!

This book is Cece (Celestine), and Jasper's adventure to find Jade. But boy oh boy do they find much more then just Jade!!!

We also meet and get to know Doyle, Jade's ex-boyfriend very well, and I am so hoping we get a book with his and Jade's story!!!!!
I really do not want to go into specifics of what happens in the story because I do not want to give anything away, but just know that this book is just as awesome as every other book written by Jessica Gadziala and I MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND it to EVERYONE!!

Holy shit. Again why have I not read this sooner!. It's worse because I adore PNR romance.
While I love PNR romance though.. it's also hard to get right. I mean it takes a special kind of writer to write a story that you can connect and even relate to parts of it even though it's so far fetched in the fiction world.

CeCe and Jasper made my heart happy!.

CeCe is that underestimated heroine. Whilst she is strong, fierce and alot of feisty she was also very much out of her element vulnerable. Her story is one of growth and understanding. For someone who quite literally gets shoved into a new world.. I think she handled her shit pretty decently. I love that she's both strong and sweet, kind but fiercely protective and an all round well balanced character.

Jasper well he is a hothead whom will frustrate the life out of you. The alpha ass who uses being a shithead as a defence mechanism for his emotions or to protect those he loves. In all fairness it comes from a good place. I loved his strength and determination despite his fear. Looking past his stubbornness, fear and anger though.. he's a survivor. He's loyal to a fault to those he loves and he's a protector. I loved him hard, honestly you can't help but love all of him.

Together honestly it's quite the journey for them. At first I was in fits of laughter at the constant bickers and bitching. As the story progresses the chemistry because palpable and the anticipation for what's to come builds. The chemistry was so on point!. They fit together perfectly giving off that frenemies vibe for real. All the crazy out of this world shit that happened just fit and despite it being fiction i was in there living that crazy ride with them. I honestly could not get enough of it all. The side characters bring so much!. I wanted to dislike Doyle but I couldn't help but love him. Even though we only get a little bit of her I feel in love with Jade instantly!. She just had that kind of personality you can't help but love.

I'm left all kinds of curious about Baba Yaga, Danny, Jet and Drake. And probably an unwanted opinion but I'm all kinds of curious about Cass... Is all what it seems or is there more than meets the eye???.

So many questions left unanswered but I'm mighty glad I picked up when I did knowing this lovely author is back to this series again and the wait won't be long!. Honestly it's a crazy farfetched emotional rollercoaster of epic proportions but I loved it hard!!. I loved this world and all the crazy unique shit init. It's original. I haven't read anything like this before and honestly I'm so excited for what's in store for this series in the future!.

Now the wait begins....

Jessica Gadziala does paranormal… and she does it well!

Title: Into The Green
Author: Jessica Gadziala
Series: The Green
Genre: Paranormal/Fantasy

Plot Summary:

Celestine, or Cece as she prefers (which who wouldn’t?) dumped her cheating boyfriend and moved in with the first roommate that would have her - even if the two couldn’t be any different. Sure they are both vegan, but Jade takes hippy to a whole new level - hemp and cotton everything, gemstone protection amulets, and moon prayers galore. But despite all that, they take to each other immediately. So when Jade disappears for several days without telling Cece, she knows something is wrong. With the police less than helpful, Cece doesn’t think to question her luck when Jade’s heretofore never mentioned brother shows up saying Jade must have been taken to The Green. Thinking it’s a weird hippy club (seriously, they have an all natural dress code?) she follows Jasper into the woods… and into the fae realm. Yeah. Shit just got real. Rapist fauns, man-cursing Baba Yaga, nymphs, sprites… everything you read about in fairytales as a child is real and generally wants to kill you.

Only by sticking to Jasper and Jade’s ex-boyfriend Doyle will she be able to navigate this new world and find Jade, let alone make it out alive. Of course there are other obstacles… like the fact that Cece is manifesting fae powers no one has ever heard of that are more powerful than have been seen in generations. And an utterly distracting attraction between Jasper and Cece that could end up getting everyone killed.

Character Descriptions/Development: 4 stars

Cece was pretty cool for me. I completely dug how accepting of everything she was. She wasn’t the stereotypical “No, this can’t be true, you’re lying!” heroine. She was just like… “Oh, so fairytales are real. I need to save Jade”. She never gave herself over to self pity when things looked rough, like ya know, being captured and tortured , or finding out .

Jasper ended up a little underdeveloped for me, mostly because we didn’t get a lot of his POV. And he was a weaker character - the book was about Cece coming into her own, learning her heritage and basically becoming more powerful than Jasper. So his development fell by the wayside.

Meanwhile, there was Jade and Doyle, but mostly Doyle. Here is this goofy guy who is part nymph, so he has to have sex. He loves Jade and can’t keep hurting her with infidelity. But overall he is this go-lucky, happy guy with a twisted childhood and he really steps up and takes things seriously … I hope the next book centers on him and Jade figuring out their issues.

Storyline/Conflict: 4 stars

So there are a few different subplots/conflicts going on:

>Find Jade, don’t get killed by fae traps in the meantime.
>Attraction between Cece and Jasper has hugely bad timing, so most of the book Jasper is a dick to push Cece away.
>Cece is some kind of fae no one had ever heard of. What is she, who are her parents?
>Once we find out who her parents are

They all work together, but the pacing on some of them was weird since the book is long and it gets dragged out in places… for example Cece and Jasper do nothing more than light petting by 60%, and don’t really acknowledge a “relationship” till well after that. Jade’s rescue is resolved about 70% even though it was the main conflict of the book. See what I mean? I really did want more of the romance story line, more of the "fall" part of fall in love.

Writing Style:4 stars

As always I loved JG’s writing style. This was the first paranormal I had read from her - I think it is the first she has written, and I was pleasantly surprised. She managed to keep her alpha-male hero theme going through this, so that was definitely a plus for me. But the world building was pretty cool overall. There were some inconsitencies that weren’t explained for me

Heat: 4 stars

While the scenes were few and far between, they were hot when they happened.

Favorite Quote:
“I happen to like the negativity on my heart chakra. If there is a stone that is the metaphysical equivalent of barbed wire for my heart chakra, please give me some of that”.

Or the ending…

Let’s just say shit happened. Things got crazy for a while.
But then, oh yeah, we really did live happily ever after.

Paranormal isn't something I have read before nor something I've been interested in.

Now after saying that I have ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book!!! Jessica has brought me over to a whole new world. I couldn't put it down and this is by far one of my favorite books I've read this year. I actually felt like I was in the Green with all of the characters and I experienced everything they did. The twists and turns in this book keep you on your toes the whole time.
I look forward for more books in this series, I'll be waiting!

Reread: 7/24. This was still a good, enjoyable read. Same rating.

Originally read 9/19:

4 stars. Quickie review: This was really good and different. I very much enjoyed this take on Fae fantasy. I liked Cece and Jasper a lot and enjoyed their slow burn romance. The book was deliciously long and had an intricate, interesting story. I definitely felt the love and magic.

DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADER
This review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants and swearing.

26 year old Celestine "Cece" Cooke moves out after she finally breaks up with her cheating boyfriend. Her new roommate Jade is best described as one close to nature with a big heart. They may be opposites, but in 4 short months they are fast friends. So when Jade suddenly goes missing and her mysterious twin brother Jasper comes to take her into The Green, Cece never hesitates. She is thrown into situation after situation and only grows stronger. She simple accepts who she is, what she is and what she must do in order to survive and get Jade back.

"In that moment, I knew something. I knew that all the shit we had gone through: the worry about Jade, the snips at each other, the exhaustion, hunger, thirst, pain and confusion... it was all worth the exquisite feeling of him inside me, of him giving me pleasure and me returning the favor, in finally, finally giving into what had been between us almost since we met."

28 year old Jasper Winters has not been back to The Green since he ran away with his twin sister Jade when they were 10. Reluctantly he knows he must return to the one place they swore they would never return. On a hunch Jasper takes Cece, Jade's new roommate/friend, with him. He is not surprised when she makes the journey into the other realm. But things get complicated quickly.

Shut. The. Fuck. Up. Jessica Gadziala wrote a PNR. Vastly different than the gritty world of Navensink Bank, but still executed flawlessly. Cece was a strong heroine that just went with the flow when her world was turned upside down. Jasper was a cranky bastard with a protective streak. Doyle. The story of his selflessness will be epic. Little annoyed by the ending but I'm a greedy woman with no patience so those last few lines I was in strangle mode. Listen up Jessica, best make plans to write some more to this series. I will be waiting.

Cliffhanger - no (book #1 of series)
POV - Cece & Jasper

It's been a long time since I've read a paranormal romance that I enjoyed this much! This is another amazing book from a brilliant author!

While it's not her usual bad boy novel, it is so well written and well thought out that you would never guess that it isn't her normal style. I can only imagine the amount of research she had to do for this one!

Jasper and Cece are great characters! I love how there's no insta-love but rather reluctant attraction that becomes "more". Their bickering is often hilarious and keeps the story from getting too serious. And Doyle... oh, boy... I want one!!!

I really hope that Jessica Gadziala takes this series further! I can't wait to see what happens next! There's still so much story to tell!

I started this book not really sure of it but I gave it a try because it's one of my favorite authors and everything she writes I usually love. Books like this usually are not my thing but this one is different. It has all the usual things a book from Jessica has, a strong female character who you will love, a sexy man to make you swoon, great secondary characters, and a plot that will suck you in and make it really hard to put down even for a second. I loved every minute of this book and I can't wait till she writes more of this series.

I would recommend this book to anybody who loves a good paranormal story. Absolutely loved this book! I read a lot of paranormal books so I was very excited to read one from Jessica. She brought together the characters in this book so well. The lead characters, Cece and Jasper, were great. Although I do wish Cece had a more independent/confident role when the story went into the paranormal side. She was independent and living on her own with basically nobody to answer to in the real world. Then we see this fragile and weak but very determined Cece in The Greens to show she can handle anything. Throughout the book, Cece does becomes stronger. I really enjoyed reading this book and couldn't put it down. I look forward to see what comes next in this story because this can't be the only one!

SO.GOOD. There are only a handful of authors that I can honestly say I haven't read a book of theirs I didn't like, and Jessica Gadziala is one of them. This is why I feel so guilty for not picking up this book as soon as it came out. It is definitely different than her other work (I'm still swooning over all the Henchmen) but OMG it is amazing! I latched onto my kindle and couldn't let go. Literally. I read Into the Green in 1 day. The storyline just flows, the suspense is perfect, and watching the relationship build between CeCe and Jasper was flawless. Jessica also did a great job of describing the Green and all the aspects of this 'world' (I hate when a fantasy novel leaves you utterly confused). Thank you Jessica! Please keep writing!

Loved the imaginative world the author created in this book. Seems to be a specialty of hers to create people and places that lure us into their realm and fascinate us with their stories.

Into the Green is paranormal that revolves around the lore about fairies. Its about a young woman who had no idea about her heritage who is suddenly thrust into a foreign world and has to survive all kinds of other worldly things.

This had it all – great characters, fascinating story and world building and a hot romance. I would love to read more about this world and hope one day the author will continue this series.

Brilliant!

I just love this author.
If you are unfortunate and have never read any of Jessica's book, you are missing out. The books remind me of the great Kristen Ashley although they do not copy or anything like that, just the characters are so engaging. I love the worlds that Jessica has created in all her books and the way they all connect.
This book is a paranormal genre and is so worth a read, I really enjoyed it. No spoilers here so just download now and you won't be disappointed, promise.

This book was different then what I am use to from Jessica. Fantasy is not my usual genre but I did recently read Laurell Hamilton's first book in the Merry Gentry series and wish I had this one first. It was great to learn about the faerie realm along with CeCe. Great read and can't wait for more from one of favorite authors. Highly recommended!!!!

I put off reading this book for a long time because I read somewhere that it ends on a cliffy. (Technically, it does not, though there is some sub-plot that carries over into the next book.) I'm kind of mad that I didn't just go ahead and read it sooner, because it's phenomenal! Being PNR, it's obviously very different from JG's other works, and yet, the same familiar style and voice is there.

We still have a wealth of characters with vastly different personalities and strengths, and (my favorite) kickass women. If you're a fan of PNR/fantasy romance with lots of adventure and intrigue and things not being what they seem (think Laura Thalassa or Sarah J Maas), then you'll love this book!

HOLY MOLY...

What a fanflippintastic read. So different than anything I have ever read, and so uniquely awesome. It was quite literally a dark, magical fairy tale. This book was just...wow.

I just don’t have the words, a friend lent it to me. I read in just a few hours. What an amazing blend of a current and magical world. I found Cece to be a character I could totally hang out with, and Jade too. It was such an intricate plot that totally captivated me. I could not put this book down. And each character had a way...

If you liked...let’s say the TV show Grimm. You must read this book. I sooo recommend.

DNF Chapter 9.
I'm so sorry that I have to give this a 1 star, but I had something other in mind when I've read the blurb. I felt no connection between any of the characters. The "enemy" family is just so ridiculously presented that I couldn't take this seriously.
