Leah Riley Tarrant is the one man I shouldn’t think about. Ever. After he beat up and humiliated my stepbrother, my family forbade any contact. He’s dangerous, they say. A monster. But I’m sure they’re wrong. Riley is kind. Thoughtful. Even protective. He sends me flowers and sweet notes. Now he’s asked me to dinner. One secret evening with the only man I’ve ever wanted.
What could it hurt?
Riley Leah Mathews comes from wealth and privilege. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Not me. I spent most of my childhood wondering where I’d get my next meal. That’s okay. Suffering makes you strong. That’s why I’m an undefeated MMA fighter. But I have a score to settle with her family. They took something from me.
It’s time I return the favor.

So far, my favorite Sasha Gold's!!! I loved how devoted Riley was to Leah, from the moment they met, even without seeing each other for three years. Yes, he seemed a bit cold and detached in the beginning, but quickly, we realize it's a defense mechanism of his, and not how he really feels. Leah was everything to him! This book is a beautiful slow burn, low angst, story, that leaves you with such an heartwarming, happy feeling! I adored it! <3
This is a great story about an MMA fighter who only wanted to provide for his adopted parents and be able to support the love of this life the heroine. This book was great but it did drag along there at one point. I liked where it was going so the lag was ok with me. When they met 3 years before, they shared a car ride and it could have been more. However, fate in the form of her stepbrother hit and her father had him thrown in jail and off his current football team. He did not let this define him. He becomes the best and goes after the heroine. He was faithful for 3 years and had not even had a physical relationship with her. She was his everything and I loved that she was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Love is like that! It's not that easy to stop trusting someone you love. Her whole family is against them being together so she know that they would try anything to break them apart. Smart girl! This book was well worth the time for me and I love this author and how she writes about first love! I enjoyed it! And the epilogue was sweet. Cute little dialogues between the MCs and also Charlotte who seems like a total riot! Funny and sweet. It's not a smut book that's for sure just in case you guys were thinking that.
Sasha Gold just keeps getting better. Every hero has this alpha intensity that has me holding my breath in anticipation of what they'll do or say next. Riley was so much of a intensely male and purely masculine and viral male lead. His devotion to Leah was over the top romantic. Celibate heroes are so sexy. To build up all of that intensity focused on one woman.. Their woman. Wow he just had that special kick. Leah was so in love with Riley but she honestly cared so much for him as a person.. She just wanted him to be safe. This had that special feeling of old school romance where the hero just has the reigns and the heroine is just helpless to fight the journey because deep down its all she wants anyway. I can't get enough of this author. Zero elements I avoid. Totally perfect.
Leah and Riley met when he accompanied her and her step brother on a cross country road trip to her school. They really hit it off and she liked him. She hasn't seen him in 3 years, because Riley and her step brother Dane have a falling out. Leah can't help but keep up with their occasional text messages because she really liked him, even though her family would forbid their friendship/relationship. Little does she know that Riley has been planning something that will impact both of their lives. Riley is a hot MMA fighter who is celibate once he meets Leah (yeah you heard me right), he wants her and does everything he can to make her his. I liked Leah and I'm glad she stood her ground and defended herself as well as Riley. No cheating, no ow/om drama, surprisingly not much pushing away, devoted celibate H, virgin h.
This was a sweet little read. Low on angst and drama, and actually a little disappointingly low on the heat scale.
Both characters were likable, but Riley confused me a bit in the beginning because I couldn't figure out if he loved and wanted Leah or was using her for revenge? Some scenes it would totally come off that way, and others he'd gone on about how he has always wanted her. It was a bit ambiguous at times.
In anycase, I enjoyed this one and it had a sweet little epilogue that wrapped it up nicely.
This book had SO much potential, but sadly it didn't live up to it. Thing is, I loved SO much about this book. I loved Riley's (H) POV because damn, this girl is everything to him.
They met three years ago and never forgot each other. And yes, they're celibate during these three years ;)
I loved the premise, and some parts were amazingly done to create tension. But there was ... no execution? No drama or so. When he takes her, she's very accepting and actually never resists or so which is weird. There were extremely butterfly inducing moments, but extremely dull moments.
I think the period where she moves in had HUGE potential if the heroine was proper annoyed and we couldn't seen the MCs and the H trying to get the h to be with him. In contrast, we live through their lives and nothing interesting really happens...
So 3.5 stars because there was a lot I loved but it needed just MORE. More action, less nothingness.
I almost didn't finish this. The beginning caught my attention, but after he "kidnapped" her the book took a nosedive. I found the heroine to be oddly annoying. The middle of the book seemed to drag on, but then after his fight the rest of it felt rushed.
So sweet, I loved it. I do wish it was longer it ends around the 83% mark.
Riley had a falling out with friend Dane which caused his wealthy family to derail his fledgling NFL career. Instead he became a world famous MMA fighter. What he's never forgotten is Dane's step-sister Leah. He met her when he and Dane drove her cross country to college 3 years ago, but at 17 she was too young for him at 24. Now he's forcing Leah into a relationship with the hopes of winning her for real.
I love that Dane was celibate after he met Leah until she was old enough for him (swoon) then he's training for a fight in a few weeks so sex is off the table but he still woos her.
No triggers, no ow/om drama, no big misunderstandings. They were hot once they got together.
"Sweet Abduction" is the story of Riley and Leah. They have always had an attraction towards each other, even when Riley was a poor foster boy and Leah was the rich daughter of a politician. Things only got worse when Riley "beat up" her stepbrother Dane, however they continue their acquaintance in secret. Years later, as Riley asks Leah for a meeting, she gives in only to be coerced to being his bride, in lieu of him giving up his MMA career. Its an EXTREMELY slow burn book. I liked how devoted and sweet Riley was, but the naivety and self pity/righteous attitude of Leah was annoying. Other characters like Charlotte were likable, Miranda and Dane were just there. The book is average on the smut scale, with an extra half star for epilogue. Safe 3/5
I love this author. She absolutely never lets me down by delivering an emotionally powerful love story with plenty of sizzle and lots of deep, gooey connection. I fell in love with Riley. He’s so tough and obsessed, a little obtuse that he doesn’t know his obsession with Leah is love.
And Leah was the perfect good girl to bring the brutal and barbaric beast to his knees with her tenderness and innocence. The gift of giving him herself, letting him claim her vulnerability and virginity for himself, feeds his possessiveness and devotion.
Nice short read. I liked the characters even though I was a little confused at thenbegining on what Riley's true feelings were. Did he really love Leah or was this all for revenge. The storyline was good but I thought more would have been written about his last fight as this was a huge point in the story. Again this was the first book by this author for me and I didn't mind it but it just fell a little short for me in some areas.
Riley and Leah a met few years back. She was the 17 year old step-sister of his best friend Dane. They were driving Leah cross country to college. He likes her but knows she is too young. He was 24. There is a falling out with Dane and his career as a football player doesn't happen.
About four years have passed and even though Riley and Leah have not seen each other in that time, they do text once in a while. He is now . There is the issue that Leahs' family hates Riley.
It all starts with an invitation to dinner. Leah was nervous about accepting, but she wanted to see Riley, so she accepts. Some planning has gone into this dinner invitation and all that it will mean to Riley and Leah.
No cheating No OW drama: No OM drama: Some steamy sex scenes Minimal angst HEA Sweet epilogue years later
I have not received this copy for free. In fact I rarely give reviews but I am so drawn to this book that I think this book needs to be endorsed. I have read some of the author's books in the past and never bothered to rate. But with this one, needs a voice. Call me biased but "to each his/her own". Stories with light, a bit of drama, not so much on violence, and a sweet, innocent but witty heroine is what can make me stay in bed dodging all the stuff I have to do on weekends. Add a hero who is tender, loving but fierce. The difference in their backgrounds plus their clashing personalities are what make the story flowing smoothly. Any grammatical errors need to be overlook to enjoy the interaction between these two main characters. I hope to enjoy more stories from this author. Keep it Sasha!
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!! So the plot behind this is that guy kidnaps girl and blackmails her to get revenge on her family and to save her from a life of being a weak pushover. And she does this by agreeing to everything he says and doing whatever he wants including marriage even though he made it perfectly clear that he doesn't give a damn about her only what she can do for him
Riley has known Leah for a long time and loves her, but her family betrayed him. They have maintained a friendship via text for years, which she has hidden from her family. He's made it big in MMA and she dropped out of college to care for her dying father. Now her step-mother controls her money and pretty much her life since her father died. She doesn't know Riley loves her. He invites her to dinner and basically tricks her into a fake relationship and gives her no choice but to go home with him. Her step-mom will disown her and kick her out with no where to go when the story comes out.
Riley must keep his distance from her until his last fight. The problem I have with the story is that he knows Leah has feelings for him but he doesn't let her know he has feelings for her. He lets her feel used and think his motivation is revenge against her family. She's unsure and unsettled and he lets her stay that way instead of assuring her.
I would have enjoyed this story a lot more and given it 5 stars if Riley had been more sympathetic regarding her feelings. If he really loved her, he should have tried harder to make her happy and feel secure. At some point he should have explained his feelings and motivation for his actions.
Overall, it was a fairly sweet story and I did enjoy it. I just would have liked for it to be a truly sweet abduction. I like my bad boys with a soft side when it comes to their women. Riley should have been softer.
Guy takes advantage of girl’s naïveté. Kidnaps her. Humiliates her in front of other people. Admits he wants her as revenge. Yes, he’s also loves her, supposedly, but I see little evidence about that. Everything is about his needs, his wants, his goals. Reads like a book written by the Southern Baptist church. And she’s mooning over his stupid self. God I hate this book.
Despite the title, no kidnapping happened lol.. it’s more of a putting pressure on her. Loved the story, was very sweet. Riley kind of an a**hole, but he was quickly redeemed. Five stars!
Yet another anti-climatic story. I kept waiting on something to happen that would thicken the plot but unfortunately, nothing did. It was an okay read but it was otherwise very blah.
I had a hard time rating this. I didn't like the H in the beginning and I didn't like something that the h did close to the end. I guess it's a me thing.
