Venus, the second planet from the sun, is named after the Roman goddess of Love and Beauty. The second brightest natural object in the night sky after the moon, Venus rotates in an opposite direction than most planets. These facts ring true when it comes to 21-year-old Venus Alana Morgan. Neglected, physically, emotionally and mentally abused at a young age, Venus has learned to cope with her everyday life in a way that has regretfully placed many lives at risk.

Venus' alter-ego, Mars, is the protector, defender and avenger, named after the Roman god of War. Mars was given one to protect. But things turn deadly when she starts taking her job as Venus' protector a little too far. Growing stronger by the years and planning her takeover, Mars has proven she’s not one to be played with.

After serving time in Edna Mahan Correctional facility for a crime committed by Mars, Venus is released and reconnects with her detention crush and friend, Ladonis “Lodi” Dawson. Lodi, also known as the 'Thug Genius' is a college graduate and head dope dealer in charge around the town.

After his release from detention, he makes sure to keep in contact with Venus, giving her the support she needs in her time of need. After Venus is released, the connection between the two grows stronger but there’s just one obstacle they have to Mars. Mars is determined to have a love life of her own which does not include Lodi but the neighborhood stick up kid, Trub. Unaware of her mental disorder, Trub is determined to make Mars his Baby Luv.

A Crazy Love Story!

I really enjoyed reading this book! I read it in two hrs and fell in love with the characters. I felt bad for Venus and how her childhood was runied by Mars. Though, Mars is a good protector and strong woman but she gotta go with them black eyes! Oh heck nah! I hope Lodi is going to be okay because he is so perfect to Venus, omg!!!! Definitely going to buy book two. This a Crazy Love Story!

Venus/Mars is very disturbed. I think Venus needs to listen to Lodi and have a conversation with her mama. Maybe then she can come to terms with what happened to her as a child. I know she will never forget what happened to her, but she needs to get rid of Mars before she ends up locked up again. She was wrong for leaving Lodi the way she did, even though she was Mars at the time.

This book is very different from anything that Ms. Myiesha has written before. The book is centered around Venus vs. Mars. This simple statement would make you think that these are two individuals that are pitted against one another and in many ways this assessment would be very accurate, with one unseeable exception: Venus and Mars inhabit the same body and are fighting in a sense to be in control. Let's take a look at the overall storyline. When the book opens, Venus the main dweller(for lack of a better word) of the body is very young(10 years of age to be exact) and lives with her mother who unfortunately is strung out on drugs and willing to do any and everything to ensure that she gets her next hit. She allows a pedophile to violate her daughter while she holds her down to make the process easier for this predator. During this horrific scene we see Venus screaming and crying for her mother to help her and then we hear her crying for Mars to intervene and help her. This is where things take a drastic turn and we are able to see just how Mars "helps" Venus during the most difficult periods of her life. From this point on we see the world wind events as they unfold from the eyes of both Venus, Mars, Lodi, Loc, her friend Jamila, and Mars' love interest and all-around bad boy Trub. Like I previously stated this is very different but it was an enjoyable ride to see the versatility that Ms. Myiesha is able to deliver. The only down-side to the story for me would be the level of innocence that Venus still exhibited after enduring some of the things that she went through. Unless she was actually encapsulated in a bubble without any outside influences some of the things that she was not aware of would just not hold weight. What I mean by this is she had no idea what the "f" word meant or what the sounds of someone actually participating in the actual act of sex was or sounded like. These factors did not distract me from my overall enjoyment of the story but I will be anxiously awaiting part 2 to see if Venus evolves and grows into a more "worldly" version of herself. Overall Good Job Ms. Myiesha and I can't wait for part 2!!!!!

This book had the perfect title to describe Venus/Mars level of mental instability. Although I did find Venus to be quite naive in several instances, Mars made up for it with her actions. The storyline held my attention as I observed Venus transform into Mars to cause all types of corruption & confusion. Lodi was a good mate for Venus, but I'm not liking Trub for Mars due to their violent natures- I see nothing but trouble in their future. I thought was a very good read that has me anxious to read the next part

Loved it! Truly Disturbed!

I could not put this book down! Damn! From beginning to end drama and total madness! The storyline was great and interesting, well written and had you engaged. Had me wondering if I had an alter ego lol. I loved the relationship that Venus and Lodi has and I hope that Mars could be subdued so that Venus could be happy without being crazy. Fantastic read! On to part two!

I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT! This is my first time reading Myiesha's work and I must say... I COULD NOT PUT THIS READ DOWN! From the dramatic opening to the dramatic ending, this storyline was full of dark twists and complex turns! I felt like Venus & Mars was playing tug-a-war with me while I was reading! While racing to get to the end, I really didn't want it to end! So glad I didn't have to wait on part 2 to be released! 1-CLICKING NOW!

What a great read! Venus/Mars could have been in girl interrupted. I am in love with Lodi, he is the definition of a true friend with extra benefits. He and Venus are great together. This was such a great read, and I can tell that Myiesha, kind of stepped out of her box to do something different. Kudos to you lady!!! #awesome job

This book was full of drama action Venus/Mar was had full vensus. Will have to overcome her issues Lodi is good for her will need extra works each couples have their own issues well written story was told I enjoyed the awareness in abuse thank you eagerly awaiting part two awesome cliffhanger!
