Puppy Place, now streaming on Apple TV+, based on the hit Scholastic book series! Welcome to the Puppy Place--where every puppy finds a home!It seems like it's going to be just another normal Peterson family trip for haircuts - that is until Charles meets Princess, a spoiled but irresistible Yorkie pup. She belongs to one of the stylists but Princess's owner is moving and can't take the puppy with her. Charles volunteers to care for Princess until they find her a new home. But it doesn't take long for the Petersons to get tired of Princess's privileged ways. How will Charles ever find the right family for this high maintenance pup?
Per my first graders:She was cute because she had a bow in her hair. It was cool because there was lots of dogs in it. It was a good mystery because we didn't know who was going to adopt Princess.
My 7 yr old discovered these books and loves them. Between her birthday coming up and Christmas and doing her best to show good behavior in school and being rewarded with a new book at the end of each month (severe ADHD has caused some struggles during her first 2 years in school and we've discovered that the reward of a book after a great month is what works to help her behavior), she is going to fly through this series.
This was so terrible. Lucy got it from a Little Free Library and I tried to hide my disgust since she needs to make some of her own choices here and there. We’re still doing plenty to shape her literary tastes. We finished it as quickly as possible as a Lunch Book, she was happy, and it will be whisked back to a LFL as quickly as possible.
I remember reading this book as a child and absolutely loving it. I was at my Mom’s house and imagine my surprise finding this little gem. I told my Mom that I was going to take it home and read it again as a joke. But I literally did and it was just as good this time as when I was a kid. Thank you Ellen Miles. I also have “Pugsley” lying around somewhere and you bet I will be looking for that one too.
Charles and his older sister, Lizzie, are in elementary school. The Peterson family have a puppy named Buddy plus they foster dogs and help them find homes.
While Charles and his family are getting haircuts, one of the stylists rushes in excitedly tells everyone she is heading to California to study under a master stylist. She has a yorkie named Princess who she can't take with her. Charles offers to foster Princess and find her a new home ... something the Peterson family regret when they discover how spoiled Princess is. She comes with a long list of instructions and a suitcase of clothes, bowls, placemats and more!
Though this book is a quick read and directed at elementary-aged children, I found it entertaining. There is a learning experience and a puppy tip at the end. It is written in third person perspective and first person from Princess' point of view. It is the twelfth in the Puppy Place series, which currently has 64 books in the series, and works as a stand alone.
not real happy with this book. the series as a whole tends to talk down to kids in that the puppies have weird voices. in this book the kids identify the problem, that princess is spoiled, and that fixing this will take a lot of work, but none of the strategies is mentioned.
Great book to teach pet ownership responsibilities. A great book to read to your kids and grandkids. Not too long to bring boredom. The book keeps their interest.
This book series is about a family that fosters puppies until they get a forever and perfect family.
In this book it all starts when Charles and his older sister, Lizzie, go to see their hair - cutter, Danielle and when another hair - cutter comes in with a puppy, that is when the story begins.
The hair - cutter says she will be working with Henry (on-ree ), professional hair colorist, and will not come back, and that she won't take her dog with her, the dog's name was Princess.
Lizzie hated small dogs, her mom only liked cats, and her dad agreed with her. Looks like it was up to Charles, but when he found how picky Princess really was , he was going to pay `expenses and make her happy by matching her wants, unless someone loved her
I like this book because it is about a spoiled puppy finding a forever home with a little help and support, and helping a boy learn to read at the same time ( in a program at the library ) and doing that is a very rare happening, maybe it never happens at all .
Will someone take Princess home? Will they keep her? Will Charles make a new friend that will make him not so different going to Danielle's salon ? All will be found out in the puppy place - Princess.
This fantastic realistic fiction is awesome for all ages. I had a great time reading this hillarios fiction because its a fantastic fun read.Mostly my favorite part of the book is that Princess the dog was acting like a little sasy diva. This book is about a little Yorkie that was settled to a foster family because her owner had to go to L.A. to work with a famous fashionista. When Charles meets Princes he knew it was going to be a hard job to foster a spoiled sasy dog. When Charles went to reading with rover program and takes Princess with him he finds that a little boy named Henry and Princess were the perfect pair. Now Princess has found a forever home.I have schema with this book because my cousins family is a foster family.
Cute book for young dog lovers. It was a very appropriate read-aloud for my kindergartner. We'll check out more of this author's puppy chapter books.
Emily 5 1/2: I liked Princess making demands on Charles. Princess liked the grooming shop because she liked the good smells. I recommend all children to read this book!
Good book if your in love with dogs. Talks about a family who takes care of found dogs and they come upon having to babysit this one and are so happy till the owner comes over and brings "the list".So read to find out more!!!

Princess is a very spoiled little dog. Charles takes care of her. He is looking for a person that will adopt Princess. Will he ever find anyone that wants her? Charles is worried that no one will want to adopt her because Princess is a spoiled dog.
