Deadly Mischief

Rate this book
Beth Bryson is looking forward to the end of term and a break from her job at the primary school in the small seaside town of Bride's Bay. Over five weeks of rest and relaxation; trips out, time to spend with close friends Gina and Carol plus Nell, her niece, and more importantly with Tom Callow, the retired lecturer who recently moved to Bride's Bay and who is becoming more and more important to her. But before the holiday even begins, the town is plagued by upsetting pranks that cause anger and worry. These seemingly childish pranks escalate until they become deadly and Bride's Bay once again becomes the centre for gossip, speculation and distress. Suspicion falls on the town youth, causing anger and resentment; but it is the youngsters of the town who are most devastated by the deaths. Are they the cause of the pranks or the casualties? Beth is concerned as fear and anger spreads through the town but has her own worries to deal with, as well as events in the lives of her close friends and family. As the summer break progresses, she is plagued by her concerns and questions. Where is her relationship with Tom going? Will her past prevent the future she yearns for? Who is causing all the upset and stress and how will it end? It is not exactly the peaceful holiday she had imagined but will be one to remember.

Deadly Mischief is the second in the Bride's Bay series. The first, A Move to Murder, is available on Amazon.
