In a race against time, it's Ray Luck against the world! When Ray Luck - a top cyber security expert - accidentally stumbles upon a devastating secret while surfing the web, he knows immediately he is in way above his head and soon he is being hunted by both Mossad and the British Security Services.
Alone, desperate, with only three days to live, Ray is a man with not one, but several missions: to save the life of his girlfriend who has been kidnapped by the security services; to prevent a terrorist cyber attack destroying London; to save the Middle East peace process; and to bring one of the most powerful men in the world to justice for the savage killing of an apparently innocent woman, a murder certain powerful people in the British Government are determined to cover up at all costs.
Only Ray can stop them all.
But as the clock starts to tick, he discovers that nothing is as it seems. Who is the real enemy? And who can he trust? Unless he finds out soon, will Ray’s luck finally run out? Please note: This is BOOK TWO of a Two Part Series.
Ian Irvine was brought up in Scotland, and studied Physics for far too many years, before travelling the world working for high-technology companies. Ian has spent a career helping build the internet and delivering its benefits to users throughout the world,...as well as helping to bring up a family. Ian enjoys writing, painting and composing in his spare time. His particular joy is found in taking scientific fact and creating a thrilling story around it in such a way that readers learn science whilst enjoying the thrill of the ride. It is Ian's hope that everyone who reads an I.C.P.Irvine novel will come away learning something interesting that they would never otherwise have found an interest in. Never Science fiction. Always science fact. With a twist.
The first of Ian's novels is a Genetic Conspiracy Thriller which explores the world of Stem Cell Research and encourages us all to ask some very searching questions about the advances that science is making, and how much we, or others, should let it affect society. A contemporary adventure, "The Orlando File" takes the reader around the world and back, and creates a unique moral dilemma that the reader cannot help but get embroiled in: at the end, the reader must ask themself, what would they do in that situation?
His second novel "The Crown of Thorns" explores the power of genetics, explores the questions that the potential to clone humans will raise, and asks the ultimate question...what would happen if a scientist found a way to clone Jesus Christ?
Ian's third novel "London 2012 : What If?" departs from the world of genetics and explores an interesting possibility that Quantum Physics raises:the possibility for parallel worlds to exist alongside each other...and what would happen if a man who wondered what other types of lives he could be living had he made other choices, where unexpectedly to step from one world into another parallel world. "What If" is also an interesting voyage through human emotions, and many readers will find themselves asking themselves similar questions that the lead character does as they read the book. As with both "The Crown of Thorns" and "The Orlando File", at the end of the book the reader is left thinking...and different readers may take away different views on how the novels did, or should have ended... It is hoped that in this way, the novels will make themselves ideal subjects for reading clubs or book clubs.
Ian hopes that if you honour him by spending the time reading one his novels, that you will find it a positive experience, and enjoy it. He also invites you to email him and let him know if you did or did not enjoy the novel. And if you did, what were your favourite parts?
Second book in the series. First book is free then to find out what happens you buy the sec o d. I normally hate authors that do that but in this case the book is so brilliant and gripping i don't mind. Loved the whole thing and couldn't put it down. Clever plot lots of twists and turns a real page turner. One of the best books iv e read in recent times and i will be looking for more by this author.
After a long time, I read a book which was hard to put down before I reached the end. A gripping storyline, a thriller in the truest sense and real life characters make a must read. I also liked the integration of in-depth subject knowledge with the good and bad human behaviour of all the characters. Looking forward to reading the next book by Ian.
Thought book 1 was very good, this was even better. The twists and turns were excellent, well written and described. Especially liked the twist at the end. Fabulous would recommend to any reader who enjoys conspiracy books.
I have read a few of Ian C. P. Irvine's books before, and this one didn't disappoint. In fact, though I only had the first book, I had to immediately buy the second and read it all, so I could get to the conclusion of this gripping story.
I Spy, I Saw Her Die is a book about cyber crime and how a man's life is turned upside down when he remotely sees something he shouldn't have done. Her death could bring down the British government and he finds himself on the run from the secret service with nowhere to hide.
I could not put this book down. I read books 1&2 over a weekend and it was time wisely spent. This thriller, not only makes you think about whether what you see is real or not, it also makes you think about the government and whether they are indeed the ones who hold the power in this country. Finally, I like the open-ended question as to whether Ray Luck was intentionally shown what he saw???
If you like books that are thrillers, and are about crime, cyber crime, politics, secret service, secret membership... this is the book for you.
I have just finished reading all of the Ian C.P Irvine books and I am absolutely hooked on this author, every single one of his books has had me up all night to finish them. The imagination and knowledge of this man is phenomenal. I am amazed every time I pick one up at the sheer cleverness of his tales . Move over Dan Brown you have a real star here to contend with. This author writes thrillers , romance and fantasy fantastically. I can't wait for the next book it could be about absolutely anything who knows? Mr Irvine is the best writer I have come across in years you must read his books it doesn't matter which you choose you will be in for a treat.
I spy i saw her die 1 and2 was a page turner for sure.and after book 1 which was incredible it was how to get part 2 or i swear i would not have slept until i did..I am not a book critic, all i will say that I enjoyed all of it from start to finish old
,and i will certainly read it again. It,s an author i have not tried before ,but as soon as i finish this , i will be looking hard at C.P.Irvines books
I instantly purchased book two the second that i finished book one! A very gripping, page turner. Such an in depth story with well fleshed out characters. I did find some of the cyber-crime side of it a little scarey, to think that that sort of control is possible! Hopefully some of it was fiction...although it's hard to tell. I am off to download another of Ian's books now.
I can highly recommend the book 1 & 2 read both in 2days utterly gripping didnt want to put the book down kept wanting to read just annother page !!!!!!
Such a nerve gripping story. Keeps you totally involved in the story. Only the details which are necessary are mentioned. Of course if you read the part-1, you wouldn't even need to read this review.
I wasn’t that enamoured by the first book, but, I like to read a complete works once invested. This second book flowed really well and an enjoyable read. If you can work your way through the first you won’t be disappointed by the second.
If you are interested in computer hacking stories this is definitely for you. Once started I did not want to put it down. Really well written. You do have to read the first book first to get the best from the second. Easy five stars.
Much too long. The writer was really stretching it thin, with a lot of repetitions, obvious internal thoughts were elaborated to the point of boredom, some really cheesy subplots too the end,... All by all too predictable.
A really good conclusion to the story and I read it in a day. Ian Irvine knows how to tell a very good story and gives you a fair amount of info on the subject (computer hacking) in this book. I highly recommend these 2 mystery/thriller books, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!
Don't bother reading this if you've read Book 1 as it is exactly the same except for missing the story of the money in the envelope at the beginning. A complete rip off.
After reading the first book I had to buy this to find out what happens to Ray! Loved the characters and the story lines! Although some of the IT jargon went over my head, it didn't detract from how much I enjoyed the books. Definitely read book 1 as it puts this one into context. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Was quite repetitive, the book did not need to be in two volumes. Ray was not very likeable but the plot was entertaining [although I thought the drug money sub plot in book1 was unnecessary]
