A bit about me:
NYT/WSJ/USAT International bestselling author Melanie Moreland, lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her beloved husband of lots of lovely years and their rescue cat, Amber. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.
While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys travelling, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.
Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling down stairs) and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet.) She's learned happily ever-afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story.

4 stars!

Review at Of Pens and Pages.

This novella is adorable! After reading The Contract, I wondered what it was like for Richard and Katy when they finally started a family. My wish came true because this story gave us a glimpse of what Richard is like as a father.

I knew he’d be a doting father, and it was heartwarming that he couldn’t resist going to his daughter the moment she starts crying. Richard, aloof and cold as he was before he married Katy, never imagined he’d become the kind of father he is today.

A nice quick read I’m sure readers who loved The Contract will enjoy.

I just gave a dollar to charity so I could smile for 15 minutes :)

I mean that's kind of a no brainier lol.

Although this short novella could be read as a standalone, it really would be so much more rewarding for you if you read "The Contract" first. Then you'll truly appreciate how far Richard has come and how amazing it is that he's so in love with his wife and their new child. I seriously smiled the entire time I read this.

Awesome way to start my Sunday <3

I really enjoyed "The Contract" and was so happy to see this chapter written about the birth of their child! It was so sweet and I'm glad that Richard and Katy are getting their HEA. I hope we can get even more (see, I'm never satisfied!).

Daddy. A title I never thought would belong to me. A swell of sentiment made my throat thick.

A short glimpse into Richard and Katy's future on the day their first child was born.

My chest constricted, tightening to an almost painful level, my entire body vibrating as they allowed me to hold our daughter for the first time. Red-faced, wrinkled, and wet, she was the loveliest thing I’d ever seen in my life.

Richard turns out to be the husband who is very much in awe of and in love with his newly born baby girl.
“Look what we made, she’s perfect.”

She gripped my finger with a strength that surprised and delighted me. My baby girl was strong.

“Grace Anne VanRyan, you’re Daddy’s girl, right? No icky boys for you.”

“I think I may want a few more just like her.”

This was a quick, fun and sweet read from Richard’s POV.

Reading The Contract (The Contract, #1) by Melanie Moreland first is highly recommended.

Well this was the epilogue from the book. The Contract by The same author. It's cute and sweet and when the hero talks to Penny from the first book I started to cry. Wow this was a great ending.
Sweet. So glad to bought these two.

YOU ASKED. HERE IT IS: A CONTINUATION OF KATY AND RICHARD’S STORY

So many readers wanted to know what was next for Katy and Richard. Melanie Moreland wrote this small continuation of their story for her newsletter, with the intention of eBook sites to offer free download. After hitting some Amazon roadblocks and head scratching head as to how to let more people see it, an idea formed.

She didn’t write this to make money, but to say thank you. So the best idea—pay it forward.
Melanie has partnered with the Keith Milano Memorial Fund, and all profits will go to this amazing charity which benefits Mental Health awareness, and suicide prevention. The add-on is releasing 7/3/16 and is available for pre-purchase. This story available for a limited time for 99 cents.

I loveee this couple .. The first book was fantastic . Now this was such a lovely reading !

This is Richard when he hears that Katy is giving birth to their baby :

description

“How can I help you?”
“My wife—I got a call—she’s
having the baby today!”
“And the name?”
I stared at her, my brow furrowed.
“We don’t know the name. The baby
hasn’t been born yet.”
She scowled and opened her mouth,
but I kept talking.
“How would I know the name? We
didn’t want to know the sex. We wanted
it to be a surprise. But she’s gone into
labor early. I got a call. I need to find
her.”
“Your wife’s name, sir.”
I sucked in a deep breath. Well, that
made more sense.

Loool ...He's out of his mind !

Later , the baby is born :

It was such a cute novella. Heartwarming. "The Contract" showed us Richard evolving from a jackass, man-whore , womanizer to a true lover and awesome husband. The baby clause gives a glimpse of that husband evolving to being a father. What a funny an cute read. Richard was totally adorable when he was totally out of his wits in hospital.

The Baby Clause is a short, sweet and quick read. It's a little peek into Richard and Katy's life after 'The Contract'.

"Daddy. A title I never thought would belong to me. A swell of sentiment made my throat thick. I reached out and grasped Katy’s hand, needing her touch. “I’ll be the best daddy I can be.”

I loved reading more about my favorite reformed jerk! There is a lot of emotion jam packed into this short story.

"I tried not to be an ass too much of the time, although Katy liked to remind me it was deeply ingrained in my psyche."

The really cute sweet story will make you smile and feel good. And as a portion of the sales goes to charity, just purchasing this novella can make you smile and feel good!

"The cold-hearted man I first knew was gone and replaced by this protector who would do anything to care for his child. To care for me."

I love reading how such a little being can melt the hardest of hearts. Richard as a daddy is even more swoon-worthy!

OMG, I just reviewed The Contract because I embarrassingly hadn't read either of these books even though they were in my Kindle for 2 years (don't hate me) and obviously as soon as I finished reading The Contract, I headed right into this one and finished it in one sitting -- then cried my eyes out because Richard & Katy's story was over! Melanie couldn't have written this better -- it absolutely captured these characters' personalities and chemistry with each other to perfection! As I just said in my review for Book #1, go and read it now if you haven't and then pick this one up and read it too! Breathtaking & perfect!
