An amazing piece of 18th century historical fiction about a Bonpo Khampa living in Eastern Tibet who goes on a journey to find migou, or abominable snowmen. Absolutely stunning attention to detail, which seems alright to me, but the author doesn't sound Tibetan and I know absolutely nothing about his influences or source material, so it may be completely bogus. My caveats: the increasingly short chapters, as if whenever the writer hit a wall on the subject, he just ended the chapter, and the frustrating ending. The VERY end is not frustrating at all and makes sense, but the chapters immediately following the trip through the desert are bizarre and don't seem to belong in the book. Recommended anyway.
