Don't trust your eyes. Trust your heart… After suffering a tragic accident, Reagan Quinn has her military career cut short and her sight gone forever. Returning to her childhood home only reminds Reagan of what she's lost. No light, no color-just shadows and indistinct forms. But one man refuses to let her give up on herself. Reagan can't see Eric Malone. All she knows is that he's there every day, driving her completely bonkers. Eric pushes her out of the darkness and into a world shaped by taste, touch and scent. But Reagan isn't quite prepared for what happens when she stops depending on her sight…and starts seeing with her heart.

Reagan Quinn returns to the small barrier island where she spent her childhood, Cassabaw Station, after an accident resulting in the loss of her sight cuts her military career short. She can only see indistinct shadows now. Also, back on the island is her childhood neighbor Eric Malone who is working for the Coast Guard. Eric is very happy to see his childhood friend Reagan back home and he is not going to let Reagan shut herself away. He is determined to show her that there is still so much to live for, while he is completely falling for her along the way.
This was such a wonderful book. I loved both Eric and Reagan, they made such a cute couple, and they were totally meant for each other. They had many lovely and touching scenes. It was great to revisit characters from the first book in the series, and Eric’s horrible ex-girlfriend made things more interesting along the way. I enjoyed the small island setting and the vivid descriptions made me feel like I was there. I loved the references to the 70’s music in the story. The great characters and the always interesting storyline made for a thoroughly enjoyable read.
My first read from author, and i liked this storyline quite a bit...these two were childhood friends/neighbours, and they connect once she returns to her home town again...loved how he coaxes her to living her life again, and get that confidence back...there is bit of twist in between but overall its a good read:-) i will definitely try other books from author.
Super duper cute! The middle section with Celeste bothered me, but other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a unique premise, and I loved the progression of their feelings throughout the book.
Second of the Malone Brothers series, the story focuses on youngest brother, Eric, whose fiance has broken their engagement when he is assigned to work at the Coast Guard station on his home island, something Eric has always wanted.
What a happy surprise for him when he sees the neighbor girl, Reagan, has also come home, though after a far more negative outcome: she's lost her sight in an explosion that ends her military career and everything else she cherished about her life, or so she thinks.
The problem with Reagan's decision to wallow in her grief is that Eric refuses to let her. He's in her face, on her doorstep, insisting that she can see--if through her fingers and her nose and most importantly, her imagination. Gradually, she begins to use her other senses. In doing so, she also loses her heart--to Eric--who's only to happy to take it, until his ex-fiance shows up, heavily pregnant and insisting that she and his son needs him. What's an honorable guy to do when emotionally blind-sided like that?
