What went wrong?
I was quite excited about this book since I love both Sam and Jenika's books, a collaboration would surely give me the best of both, or so I thought but I have very mixed feeling about this one.
I liked the idea, Deanna is a good girl honouring her mothers last request and looking after her drug addicted scum of a father who turns around and trades her to The Soldiers of Wrath MC to clear his drug debt.
Demon is the president of the MC and he wants Deanna and he's the kind of man who gets exactly what he wants, and so far so good but...I'm going to make a mess of explaining this but he was talked up too much early on, yes he's mean, nasty, a real bastard, no one messes with him...but then he's being all sweet and loving and then bam he's nasty again. It's like he's bipolar I found it very disconcerting and Deanna was the same at the start of the book she's feisty and a force to be reckoned with and then she has a complete personality transplant, yes I know some of this was explained away but it was still hard to keep up with all the personality changes.
The continuity was terrible, jeans turned into sweats, naked turned into a towel, positions changed, clothes appeared. I can't believe I'm saying this about a book by these two authors but parts of it were really poor and nowhere near the book I'd expected, this wasn't helped by the fact that I didn't really liked Demon I thought he was an ass.
To be fair parts of it were also good, Jokers part is intriguing and I'd like to find out what happens there so yes I'll probably read the next collaboration hoping they'll be less errors in that one.
I have to ask why a book like this was released without anyone reading through it, there's just so many mistakes surely someone could have checked it.

Deanna is the unsuspecting forfeit, given by her father to a biker gang, to wipe his debts clean. Demon, President of the Soldiers of Wrath MC, is driven by lust by the prospect of having her at his mercy, and whims.
This is a straight up porn book; which should not to be confused with book porn. My favorite book porn is comprised of interesting stories that happen to include hard core sexual situations. Porn books in comparison are hard core sex scenes, with flimsy story lines built around them. I think the sex in this book was extremely hot, and fun. If that's all you require from your MC themed reads, than this might be for you. I just found myself picking away at all the other elements. I am adding a star for this being in third person though.

I had a hard time getting into this one. It is only book one though and I often get into a series as it goes along, so I am not going to quit this MC series just yet!
If I had to say why this story didn't wow me, I think the biggest reason is it kind of seemed like a big of a porn-type story. Don't get me wrong..I love the sex that is including in the books that I read; but when it is the main focus, and the relationship between the hero and the heroine, have not developed emotionally then it just comes across as tacky to me. In this case, the couple fall in love during a very small period of time, and it just didn't win any points from me by them falling that fast.
I must be a sucker for punishment as I do plan on reading the next one, as I am curious about Joker and Amy; who are the next couple that's story will be told. At least the each story in this series are quite short! Fingers crossed book two will be smoother and way more enjoyable.

The writing was good, but I didn't buy Deanna's love for Demon. He might be a god in bed and give her multiple mind-blowing orgasms, but he treated her horribly otherwise. Great sex does not equal love, IMHO.
Plus, I might have to accept that criminal heroes are not for me. This was the second time I ventured into reading a book that features a "hero" who murders people without remorse, and I was unable to connect with the story both times. What can I say? It's probably not them, it's me. ;)

Sooo yeah, at first I wasn't going to rate this but what the heck. Dammit, I liked this book. Yes, it was over the top and ridiculous. Yes, Demon took Neanderthal to a whole other level; yes the writing was at times repetitive and adolescent "Zeke was a criminal lord of everything." Wah? Yes, the misogyny was on 100 - I mean, we expect some misogyny in biker books, but this was like next level! Yes, the sex was crazy and ridic. Yes, the author was doing too much and things were eye-roll worthy at times; yes Deanna was kidnapped by someone shooting a dart at her like she's an elephant...but I still managed to like the characters! Demon was who he was. He didn't pretend to be anything else. He was a rough, uncouth, violent, murdering asshole who knew what he wanted in the bedroom, and wasn't afraid to let Deanna know it. He had no finesse, and wasn't used to dealing with anything but hangarounds. Deanna started off strong, and then kind of got d*ck whipped and forgot everything else, but I still liked her. She's written really well in the beginning so by the time she got all lovestruck, I was already like allllright, you can stay. Even with all the ridiculousness I've already mentioned, what really made the book kind of lame was the love declarations after like 3 days. Come on, now. You all were doing so well...ugh, well as well as could be expected.
So final answer - this book is ridiculous, and I liked it, and I am embarrassed. That is all lol.

I got this short book as part of a boxed set and it was very similar to some other books I have read where a parent gives their daughter to an MC to pay a debt. Of course the girl is sweet and innocent and young and the biker is older and appears to be cruel and cold. It doesn't take long before they are in love and he is making her his old lady and they have an HEA...but not before a kidnapping and death threats.
If you like your bikers mean and the sex dirty...this book is the one for you. Read it in one sitting and it leaves the door open for more ends to be tied up.

MC books are one of my favourite genres and I am used to reading about and enjoying the general badassery that goes with these hot alpha guys. Demon is truly hardcore. Deanna nearly gave me whiplash...She hated him then liked him then hated him then loved him. They fell in love in the space of 2 days. It was all a bit rushed for me. Also, the subplot of Amy and Joker felt like it was just randomly thrown in. The book felt like one really long sex scene with a tiny bit of story thrown in. There are lots of fab reviews out there for this book so this is probably just me and please remember this is just my opinion. Others had a very different reading experience. For Me, the story was too rushed with not enough character development. I didn't feel like I knew the H/h well enough . Also, some of the continuity in some scenes was a bit off ie, one moment Deanna is naked having only worn a towel to bed, then she is apparently wearing a shirt and then she is naked again.
The blurb and plot idea intrigued me but the book didn't quite deliver what I expected.

What the fuck did I just read? This book gave me the worse case of BRAIN FART! Does having really hot sex scenes compensate the fact that there is no substance in a book? No. It does not.
Deanna was such a twat, I reserve this title for the special ones, But damn this bitch deserves the title. First off you just had sex with the guy who murdered your father right before your eyes.....ON THE SAME DAY. The hell? The very same man who abducted you, tells you - you're to become the new club whore and touches you intimately without consent. Oh and he has unprotected sex with you after and you do so willingly and knowing that he's fucked every whore in his club. BRAVO DEANNA BRAVO. She was so shallow, she didn't feel anything for her father when he was killed. Albeit he was a shitty father, it is still your dad. A little sadness would of been great. Then the ending when Ben was killed because of his mistake. Fair enough, he fucked up. But Deannas response to Demon when he murdered somebody in cold blood in front of her yet again was abhorrent:
“He wasn’t the one who had a gun held to his temple with a blindfold on. Why did he leave his post?”

La verdad es que me ha decepcionado este libro de la autora. Los otros que leí habían estado bastante bien pero este...
La relación entre Deanna y Damon realmente no debería haber sucedido. Un tío que se lleva a una mujer contra su voluntad... ¿que amor puedes sentir por el excepto el síndrome de Estocolmo? En fin, pues estos dos acaban juntos. No me gustó la actitud de Damon ni tampoco lo voluble que era. Tan pronto en su cabeza decía que estaba enamorado como al siguiente le estaba diciendo a Deanna que no se creyera que eran nada solo porque habían follado.
Otra queja es, que por desgracia, aunque las escenas de sexo fueron novedosas en los otros libros en este ya fueron copias de los otros. Copias exactas además.
Me fastidió, porque hasta ahora los libros de esta autora me habían gustado mucho pero evidentemente no van a encantarme todos...

If you're looking for some serious substance and a multi-dimensional plot - get another book. This is cut and dry -- nasty and steamy. Demon is quite a hardcore foul-mouthed douchebag.
This was a straight read through. I had work in the morning, but I stayed up to finish it.
I loved it when Deanna would just have a b*tch fit and Demon would have no choice, but to just deal with it. I continuously said to myself "That's what his @$$ gets."
I cannot wait to read more about the Soldiers of Wrath MC.

Good story about an alpha MC pres who finds himself wanting the daughter of a druggie who put up his daughter to settle his drug debts. Lots of sex, blood and guts, and "you are mine!" Better edited Jenika Snow when she writes with Sam Crescent. I do like them both for when those sexy nasty alpha reads are needed.

Typical story line for this author. Older H, young, innocent h, hot sex, dirty talk, a little lite bdsm, insta-love/lust, OTT alpha possessive H, damsel in distress and heroic rescues. If you like your sex on the dirty side and an older H without too much plot, this one is a short read to get those fixes.

Demon, President of the Soldiers of Wrath MC, is used to bartering to get what he wants. When he is offered Deanna Monte to pay of her junkie father's debt he takes it. He is not one to force a woman, but he will break her down, after all no one says no to Demon. He didn't expect the redhead hellfire though and with a temper to boot. Now he needs to figure out what to do her, take her and make her his own or let her go?
I liked the idea of this but it was rushed and I felt like one moment Demon was trying to get Deanna to sleep with him the next it was You Woman-Me Man, thump of the chest. Have read others in this series so know it gets better as you go.

⭐⭐⭐ and that only because I really enjoyed the glimpses of Joker's and Amy's story. I hated, I know it's a strong word, Demon and Deanna. The book had a lot of steamy moments, more than the actual story. I really wish that the authors had spend some more time to develop the characters and have a more detailed plot. After a point it was felt rushed.

Malo, cliché, tonto, aburrido, repetitivo, ¿ya dije tonto? Creo que la parte que sonaba más interesante era la de Jocker...
Creo que tenía un buen argumento (sí, sí, SUPER cliché), pero a mi parecer, las autoras no supieron desarrollarlo correctamente. Se puede partir de algo común y hacer algo único.

I've enjoyed most of Sam Crescent's books, this one in particular was not my favorite. It was good, I still I rated it 3 stars and not just 2 because the characters were realistic, at least that how I feel them at some point.
Deanna has a loser junkie father who is really a good for nothing, but she put up with his shit because she made a promise to her mother before she passed.
Demon, whose real name is never mentioned in the story, is the president of the soldiers of wrath MC, they rule the town and are known for being merciless, so Deanna's loser father decides that the best way to clear his debt with the club is to offer them Deanna, so here I have the first issue with this book, but then again, is a common storyline in some books I've read and I enjoyed at the end. The god part, the club members found not so cool that a father would be willing to offer his daugther to pay his debt, so at first they want to say no and kick his ass, so here goes a point to them, but the problem was that Demon saw a picture of Deanna and he wanted her immediatley, so Deanna's faith was sealed.
As soon as Deanna knows what his father did, she wants to kick his ass and goes with the MC not quietly, she fights even when she's scared and doesn't give up easily. Demon is an arrogant asshole, he knows is not a good thing to have her against her will, but he wants her and is willing to go to any lenght to have her belong to him.
"She didn’t have anyone. Her father was dead, good riddance. Her mother was gone but thank God she didn’t have to see him at his lowest point. Closing her eyes, she listened to Demon’s heartbeat. So you see, I can understand how she accepts to stay with Damon, after all he doesn't treat her so bad and having the father she had, she didn't expect to found a man to take care of her.
Sex scenes were hot, there's chapters that show a glimpse of the following book couple, which theme will be stronger than the one in this book.
Overall a good book, like I said not my fav of thia author, but still was good.

I've enjoyed most of Sam Crescent's books, this one in particular was not my favorite. It was good, I still I rated it 3 stars and not just 2 because the characters were realistic, at least that how I feel them at some point.
Deanna has a loser junkie father who is really a good for nothing, but she put up with his shit because she made a promise to her mother before she passed.
Demon, whose real name is never mentioned in the story, is the president of the soldiers of wrath MC, they rule the town and are known for being merciless, so Deanna's loser father decides that the best way to clear his debt with the club is to offer them Deanna, so here I have the first issue with this book, but then again, is a common storyline in some books I've read and I enjoyed at the end. The god part, the club members found not so cool that a father would be willing to offer his daugther to pay his debt, so at first they want to say no and kick his ass, so here goes a point to them, but the problem was that Demon saw a picture of Deanna and he wanted her immediatley, so Deanna's faith was sealed.
As soon as Deanna knows what his father did, she wants to kick his ass and goes with the MC not quietly, she fights even when she's scared and doesn't give up easily. Demon is an arrogant asshole, he knows is not a good thing to have her against her will, but he wants her and is willing to go to any lenght to have her belong to him.

More of a 4 to 4.5 stars read but I couldn't help but give it 5 because I just love both Sam Crescent and Jenika Snow's writing !!! I don't normaly give more than 4 stars to light, romance ( be it dark or not) books even if I love 'em because I keep the 5 s for epic works like LOTR, but I've decided to break my own rule because I really want more of this series and I am always waiting for new works from Sam and Jenika because I love their writing so much!!!! Both of you rock!!!!
As for this story, I really liked and at some point I found it a little bit credible. I know that some of you say that the almost insta love between the main characters is impossible. So for me to say that I find it a bit credible, you'll think I'm insane and in a way I agree with you, no normal woman would fall in love so quickly with a criminal. But let's put ourselves in the characters place. The heroin was living a shitty life, taking care of a crappy father who sells her to get his fix. Then she escapes and her father tries to kill her. Insane, right? It does things to a person. I think that is not so uncommon that the heroine fell for her saviour, even if he took her as a payment. After all the hero being a hardcore criminal could have killed her for running away, instead he saves her and takes care of her. As for the hero, he fell in love with a young, innocent, pure woman, a ray of light in his fuc*ed up world. We just need to understand that a biker's world does not follow the same rules as a normal one. Even the heroine's world does not function as a normal one. So what I'm trying to say here is that one: this book is fiction, not real life and here apply another set of rules and second the hero and heroine's world is pretty different than ours and their way of dealing is also pretty different.
In coclusion, 5 stars for encouragement and please write Joker's story and also Zeke's story ( I know he is a real bad one but I loved that he had the lowest opinion on child molesters so maybe he has something good in him after all and he's not a total bastard)!

And first I want just to rant so much. I hate when parents do those kind of things to theirs daughter/son. And damn, I'm pissed at Deannas a**hat of a father. She never should have promised her mother to take care of her father. More important, Deannas mother shouldn't have asked her of this. Deanna wouldn't be in this f***ed up situation. Being a payment for her fathers debt. A playting for The Soldiers of Wrath MC.
But damn, I'm proud of Deanna. Though she scared s***less, Deanna fights to the last breath for her freedom. Loved the part with glass of bourbon. I was so hoping she wouldn't drink it and do something else with it. And score! And then the trashing she did with the room...Atta, girl!

This was just another marvelous collaboration between Jenika & Sam. I love these authors books. I'm so waiting for more from these series. And you need to insert it on your TBR list immediately.

Determined to fulfill her dying mother's wish, Deanna never gives up on her dead-beat drug addicted father. But she's about to pay a huge price for her unconditional care -- her father offers her as payment to a powerful motorcycle club run by the ruthless Demon. Once Demon sets his eyes on the feisty red-haired daughter there's no going back- this bastard is going to own her.
The beginning of this book REALLY sucked me in- I felt the trepidation and anxiety as Deanna worried over her last few minutes of freedom and felt the hopelessness she felt being a modern woman and being kept captive by one moody alpha male. Demon wasn't really one of my typical swoon-over anti-hero types- no he was very rough around the edges but had a soft spot when it came to Deanna- soft not weak.
However, the rest of the book didn't hold my attention captive like the beginning did- I felt Deanna's character in the beginning morphed too quickly into a submissive character a third of the way through. Honestly? It's like she got the sense knocked out of her - I just couldn't relate.
Toward the end I felt too much happened and was glossed over- a whole chapter devoted to in the bedroom yet two pages of the big climax (the literary kind this time) and then BAMM- the book was over. Overall I liked the story and will probably continue on to the second.

This one is iffy for me. Also, important info below.
Demon (MC Prez) takes Deanna (regular girl, not a virgin) after her father offers her up to pay his drug debt. The second Demon saw the first pic of Deanna, he was drawn to her. When D got to the club house, she tore that sh*t up. It was actually funny and refreshing. She did not cower in a corner at all. Eventually, Demon takes her and they f*ck like rabbits. He's a little rough with her but she likes it. A big time crime lord decides to kidnap D and will kill her unless Demon agrees to be the "muscle" at one of his clubs. We suspect that the crime lord is eventually going to want the MC to do illegal things, but that doesn't happen yet.
The only problem I had was there was a lot of sex that seemed to be copy & pasted to each section in the book. It was like the same scene over and over. There was also little plot to go with it.
This story also introduces the next couple of Joker and Amy. That said, this series is one where all the characters are involved in each book. The next book of Joker & Amy has important details for Eloise and Steel. So in order to enjoy one story, you need to read them all in order.

Book 1 in The Soldiers of Wrath MC.
Great start to a series. Lots of character for you to fall in love with, and just as many for you to hate. The story flows really well. All Deanna wants to do is keep her promise to her dying mother, forgive and support her father. All Deanna's father wants to do is settle his debt with The Soldiers of Wrath, by giving them Deanna.

This is short MC book(only 108 pages),i read in 2 hours,you have alpha,possessive biker bad boy,strong,sassy heroine,insta-love i enjoyed very much.You don't have very much character development or story for that matter but it's only 100 pages so you can't ask for impossible,It's fast-paced,short story ,i love my biker books so this was ok for me.This is not book that will blow your mind,but if you looking for short biker story this one is for you.

3.5 stars...First time reading this author. Very well writen, sex scenes were hot. I enjoy a book with good steam, but it focused a little to much on that (I'm shocked I'm saying that). When the story & drama developed away from their sex it was great too...just thought the author could balance it a bit more. Then how Joker left & came back...just a little teaser...I'm assuming/ hoping he will have a book to explain & wrap up his story. Fast easy read. Would read more from this author.

I love Sam Crescent and Jenika Snow books, but this one didn't do it for me. It really seemed to be lacking a plot. It also seemed rushed and it just lacked the flow both these authors normally have in their stories. Sure, the sex was great, but even the "suspense of reality" you need to have to read some of these types of stories was really pushed to the limit.
