Half-way thru I had to stop. Talk about a story that's poorly written.

This was my first book by Ryleigh and I really enjoyed it. There were parts in this book that I laughed out loud and also parts that literally hard me in tears. This book hit close to home for me. Being a military wife is very hard and the struggle Claire went through broke my heart.

When the book starts, Claire is very pregnant with twins. Her husband is deployed and she is with her friends waiting for the babies to come. When Claire got the news about her husband my heart was in pieces. I could not image the pain and struggle she had to go through. Not only that she then had to bring her two children into the world without a father. But one thing I loved about Claire is she was a fighter and never gave up.

One of my favorite things about this book is that Claire’s friends played a huge part of her life and also a pretty big part in the book. They were always there to help her and actually brought Clay into her life. I really liked Clay from the beginning. I was pulling for these two to get it together.

I am not one for spoilers so if you are looking for a quick read this is the one for you. Be prepared for a little laughing, crying, and lots of wonderful friendships. I look forward to more from this author.

I was giving this to review by the author....do firstly I would like to say thank you for the opportunity to read it.

It's rare and refreshing to read a book on point of view of a woman that has been in military. It touches points on what people go through during their time and after they serve. Whether it's getting injured, nightmares, losing friends. It's a heart felt story of someone losing her husband and bringing up the children....and eventually letting someone in again and trusting someone after the emotional and physical scars you have. It has a combination of funny, swoony and sad parts. A good first book by the author. I hope there will be other books about the other characters.

I really enjoyed this book! At first, I didn't like how it jumped so far ahead after the first chapter, but it kind of set the whole story line. Claire has overcome some serious tragedies being a former Marine. She lost her husband in combat right before their twins were born. She was overworked being an oncologist and had no time for herself or to date. Clay and her friends work together to pick her back up. Lets just say without spoiling the whole story for everyone, its a great read! Definitely a 5 star read for me!

Ryleigh might be new but she has what it takes if this book is envy thing to go by. This story was a joy to read with many ups and downs and ups again to keep you going. I never once wanted to put this story down and that coming from someone who has found it hard to keep reading some books of late. It's a nice point of view from a Militray woman's life after she comes home. And the scars inside and out she must live with and how ones exspetence and lift you past them. Ryleigh Rhodes has a new fan in me. Bring on your next story.

Love, loss and new beginnings! This was a good story. What would you do if you were pregnant with twins and your husband was killed? Claire has scars of her own but found a new beginning with Sawyer, until he was killed in action. Claire is strong, she has the babies and focuses on her children and her career. Will Claire find love again? Clay has been there for her along with her close friends but one brief encounter changes everything. Will Claire find happiness and a future with Clay or will past insecurities and fear ruin it before it begins!

Emotional. Loved it. A must read. And I love love love that we get more of their story in the epilogue. I must say this is the first book I have re a d in a while where I didn't want more of the story about the main characters. You get plenty of everyone's story. High five for that.

From the collection Duty, Honor and Love by multiple authors. Love reading books about our men and women in uniform. Claire survives and IED, lots of therapy, puts herself through medical school and due to deliver any day pregnant when she is notified of her husband's death in Iraq.
