I am a native Floridian who is temporarily (I hope) displaced in Memphis, TN. for work purposes, however I hope to make it home to a partner of 17 years and our family as quickly as I can. I enjoy photography as a hobby along with spinning a good tale.
I am American by birth and Southern by the Grace of God. LOL I enjoy writing about the south and creating characters and events that I hope my readers enjoy as much as I have in creating them.
The second book in The Island Books Series, is a very enjoyable read too. All the characters from book one are in this one too. The main couple is developing her still new partnership, while Simone wants Levi back. The interactions between the group of friends was great and I wish my boss would be like Nat and Liz. So there is still a little drama and mystery in it, but mainly it’s the story of the group of friends and the opportunity of creating and building a new resort. It’s nice how the friends are working together and there were also arose new love relationships. The one thing I was a little struggling, was the mystery of Celeste and how it was developed. For my opinion, it was a little bit too much. But otherwise it was a wonderful romance. I rate this book with 3,5 stars
What can I say about this amazing book? There is too much to mention. It's a passionate story, an adventure, crazy circumstances, unexpected turns of events, a fabulous setting, a beautiful group of people, lush imagery. A story with great new characters and old favorites. A cast of characters who I wish were my friends. It carries you away to paradise. You easily visualize yourself right in this paradise with all these gorgeous women and sandy beaches. A romance with steamy love interests, a bit of mystery and all this capture your heart. It is a great distraction from the real world. I enjoyed everything about this story and I'm sure that I'll be the first in line for the next one.
This story will make you rethink what "going home" really means.
I can't say enough about book 2 in the resort world of Levi and Vanessa. Not only do we get to feel their love grow in both simple and delicate ways, they are part of the next-generation of resorts. The new island has a ghostly past which brings intrigue to the story. Levi shows her inner strength to navigate building new and putting the past to rest. Simone is her usually lost self creating distress if she can. The family these friends have become only add with ones as Cass joins the partnership with Nat, Liz, and Levi and Vanessa. The dialogue is so precious as they add Cat the realtor and a whole host of find while they work to uncover the mystery of the island. I again which I could join these loving women as they make a community for fun, love and acceptance. I now expects to feel like I have lost family every time I finish one of Ali Spooners books. A brilliant writer who write so you feel her characters. I confess this one needed Kleenex but was just the best intriguing story full of love.
I enjoy Ali’s works immensely. Her writing style keeps me riveted throughout the entire novel. I especially loved the addition of Celeste and the fact that Levi was compelled to taking her home. A beautiful read. I enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend this book and any others by Ms. Spooner. Thank you Peace
Levi is happily working as a bartender at Venus Rising, an exclusive lesbian resort, when Nat and Liz make her an offer she can’t refuse. In a whirlwind of activity, Levi finds herself alone on a private island overseeing the work to open a new luxurious lesbian resort, of which she is now a partner in business with Liz, Nat and a couple of other friends.
Levi is head over heels in love with Vanessa, but Simone is not going to let her go, not with out a fight. What devious and underhanded tricks will Simone use to try to lure Levi back?
Work on the new resort is going really well, but the island has a reputation for being haunted by a young woman who had disappeared while she worked on the island for the previous owner. Will Levi see any ghostly happenings? Will she want to stay on the island alone knowing of this? Is there even any truth to the hauntings?
As the resort developments are near to being completed, Levi makes a startling discovery. She also receives a proposal she can’t refuse, she’s been asked to marry. But who has won Levi’s heart, Simone or Vanessa?
This sequel is equally as good as Venus Rising. The story continues on from where Venus Rising left off. It is an easy book to get into and there is enough back ground for it to be a standalone. But I would advise reading the first book before this one as you would be seriously missing out on an excellent book if you don’t.
I like the way Levi has come into her own in this book. She’s taken on a partnership and with it a lot of responsibility. The story continues on Venus Rising, is partly on the Sappho One and moves across to Neptune’s Ring, which gives us some new scenic settings, which are really well described and easy to visualize.
A lot of the characters are the same, but there are new ones added in, all as loveable as the first set and all playing their parts to perfection to progress the story forward.
The story has an entirely different angle to Venus Rising. There is a ghost and a mystery to be solved. There is also a lovely heartfelt romance at the heart of the book, with all the red hot activity that comes with it. The book is also full of twists and turns, is exciting and a page turner.
There hasn’t been anything said about another book in this series, but there is definitely an opening for one. I, for one, would like to see another book with these characters. I haven’t had enough of them yet.
Unfortunately, as with Venus Rising, there are some typos in this book. But, they didn’t detract from the story at all. The reasonable price counteracts them in my opinion.
Made Me Smile Nat and Liz from Venus Rising are back in this new romance by the talented Ali Spooner. This time they are wanting to open a new resort and want Levi, Vanessa and Cass to be co-owners. While Levi is on the new island overseeing construction she stumbles across a mystery only she can solve. If it weren't for missing Vanessa, her life would be perfect.
This is a follow up book. I read this one not knowing that and I felt like I was missing out on a lot of back story by reading this first. That being said this wasn't a major problem and it is still a really good read.
I liked the concept of the story. Starting over with a new venture, a new love and dear friends on a beautiful, secluded tropical island... sigh! The amount of detail Ms Spooner included in the story is wonderful. It really gave me a sense of being in the various settings. While on the island, Levi becomes an important player in a years old mystery. I adored this part of the book. I wont give anything away but it was so good! This is a gentle romance. Levi and Vanessa are so good together, you couldn't help but love them. At times you could tell their love was still new and fresh but there were times where it seemed like they had been together forever because they were so content in their relationship. What would a romance novel be without intimacy? Let me tell you this book does not lack any! Between the hot and intense sex and the tender, yummy love making nothing is missed. The ending of the book wrapped everything up nice and neatly leaving me feeling like all is well in the world. I truly enjoyed it all and can not wait to read Venus Rising!!!
This is the 2nd Book Island Series. I thought that I loved Venus Rising but it doesn't compare to Neptune's Ring. This story starts with the buying of a new Island that is said to be haunted. Nat and Liz put Levi alone on the island to manage the construction. Things are going along fine until Levi sees an apparition. Then the fun starts. The book has a bit of everything. A mystery, sizzling love story, a sweet romance and beautiful woman everywhere. Ali Spooner excellent book and I can't wait for the next installment. Bring me back to the island soon. I would highly recommend this book.
I loved Venus Rising, and this one is right up there. I really am speechless. I felt like I personally know all the characters. And the storyline was out of this world. Dealing with an old nemesis and then having a new adventure. This story made me think about those lost souls who have never been able to come home. Ali did it again. I recommend this book.
