Travis O'Connell was living his dream when a surprise on his doorstep causes his care-free world to slowly crumble around him.
Finding himself suddenly thrust into fatherhood, Travis is forced to move back home with his parents to make ends meet. While learning to cope with the joys and sorrows of single parenthood as well as his parents' strong faith, Travis must come to terms with who he is and who God has called him to be.
Will he choose to follow the One that can break the hardness growing in his heart and become the father that his daughter needs?
Hi, I’m Angela Schmeling — a lifelong lover of storytelling and the author of eight published books, including two award-winning titles in 2024. Writing has been my passion since childhood, and I’m grateful to share stories that inspire, uplift, and spark imagination. When I’m not writing, you’ll find me soaking up time with my family — preferably outdoors, until the South Dakota winter reminds us who’s boss!
I would rate this book ten stars if Goodreads would let me.
Now and then, you come across a novel that not only takes you into the setting but also carries you into the middle of the story.
Andrea Schmeling did that with Beyond Every Sunset. I was hooked by page ten and stayed captivated through to the Epilog.
I am not going to spoil this story. I am going to suggest you get this book. The story will enfold you like a cozy blanket. When you finish, I will bet you, like me, will be a fan of Ms. Schmeling for life.
I am not only leaving this review in the usual places, but I am also putting it on my social media as a must-get.
If you’re looking for an uplifting summer read, get Beyond Every Sunset.
One more thing: I finished this book three days ago, and I have yet to start another. Ms. Schmeling’s storytelling is so good that I hesitate to go to another author.
this is one of the free giveaways folks. at first i wasn't to sure about this book first i don't usually read love stories and at first when i started reading this book i thought oh great here we go with the preaching of religion. but i still keep reading got a third way through and i was caught. then half way through i was crying and saying MAN will you get your head out of the sky, then 2/3 of the way i wanted to reach in and smack the guy and say to him are you that dumb you can't see what is in front of you. then to wards the end i was saying about time. this book actually made me think there are more to reading just mystery and thrillers. this is a woman's book with love, passion and yes a little mystery.
THIS IS A RELIGIOUS STORY ABOUT A YOUNG MAN TRAVIS O'CONNELL WHO GIVES UP ON HIS DREAM OF BEING A DIRECTOR IN THEATER WHEN HE IS SUDDENLY LEFT TO CARE FOR A BABY DAUGHTER CELIA. HE THEN HAD TO LEARN HOW TO BE A FATHER. HE MOVED BACK IN WITH HIS PARENTS WHO ENCOURAGED HIM TO ATTEND CHURCH, IN THE MEAN TIME HE BECAME A DRAMA TEACHER AT THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL. THE STORY WAS A LITTLE LONG BUT FINALLY CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT WAS OBVIOUS.
Beyond Every Sunset by Angela Schmelling is a great family book. It is one even you're children can read. If you enjoy a good book without any sex and violence then this is it. Angela has the ability to make you want to keep reading and feel like you are there with the characters. It was just a very enjoyable book and I hope Angela keeps writing books like this.
I really enjoyed this book. The author made me feel like I was right there with her descriptive words. The story was great- I found myself relating to some of the characters. It was hard to put down. Great Christian novel!!
I enjoyed this book. It took a long time for the main characters to realize that they really cared for each other, but they had to work through some personal struggles. They got beyond these difficulties with the help of the Lord.
This is a book I think most can relate too. Not in so much as the actual event of having a child dropped off at your doorstep but in the amount of emotions that Travis goes through. This is a great read and one that will leave you wanting to read more of Angela's books!
