Brilliant!

Wow what a book!
I was sceptical going in, reading fantasy books is normally one I run away from however this one kept drawing me back, a modern girl, an ancient curse and a beast that needs taming , something about that tagline stuck with me and so I began my first journey into the land of reading fantasy, I gotta say I'm very impressed!
So my first initial thoughts before going in was ehh a dragon and a vampire I'm not so sure I'll probably read ten pages or so and put it down but hey at least I tried right? WRONG! before I know it I had read half the book and then I did not want it to end! There is something very fluid about Chris Patt's writing that brought the story to life so easily in my head so I leave you with this, if you love fantasy books or you at least want to try one I would highly recommend this one because Chris will bring you on a journey like no other and you won't want to come back. I am so ready for book 2!

I really enjoyed this first book in this new series. I thought it was great twist on a supernatural book. I liked the combination of traditions and modern. I also liked that it was about the Mayan people. We follow Dalia as she is brought back home which is in the Jungle as part of a proficy. Things don't go as planned but for Dalia it is better for her. The ending made me want to read more as soon as it was done. I look forward to following Dalia in more books.

Good first novel hopefully will become a series

The character and plot development were good until close to the end . The last couple chapters in the end of the jungle portion would have been better with some more fleshing out.

Definitely, not a standard fare fantasy book. Worth the read. Looking forward to more from this author.

Loved every minute!!

Do you know that feeling when you read an excellent book and you realise that will never ever get to read it for the first time ever again? That is me right now! If you are reading this review now trying to decide if you should read the book then I want you to know I envy you! Buy the book and take your time to read it, don't devour it in one sitting like I did. My only regret is that the series is not complete and I need to know what happens next, I have a feeling it's gonna be a fun ride!

Reign Drops is a nice mix of paranormal, history, and a little bit of romance all pulled together into an entertaining adventure. I feel like the author really thought about her main characters, and that they have solid backstories just waiting to be told. In some paranormal books, when a person first discovers they have a magical ability, they seem often to be able to master it with little explanation. I liked how Dalia had to relax and find her center, and learn to tap into it. The author did a really good job of having you learn with Dalia what her magic is and how to use it. I look forward to more stories in this series and author.

I really enjoyed this ready, i loved how it started way back in the past to show how the legend of now came to be.

I thought Dalia's character was fantastic especially how she is torn between how she was raised and her heritage and the world as she knows it to be outside of the jungle the hides her people. It has a great pace and was gutted when it was over all too soon.

I really hope book 2 is out sooner rather than later so I can see what happens to Dalia next!

Priestess and Vampires

This is an interesting book with vampires in the jungle. The vampire bites are different mix in legend of a priestess in the jungle and the adventures are interesting enough to keep the page turning.

Dalia is a member of a Mayan tribe whose members rarely have contact with the outside world. Her family has been chosen to keep the secrets of the Temple Cave and be the Bloodborne priestess to save her people. In a prophetic dream, Dalia's mother saw her living in the city, so for the past several years Dalia has lived in the city with the nuns and away from her people; but with the Mayan calendar coming to an end, Dalia is called back home. When she arrives, Dalia finds that the stories she has heard might just be true, her sister has died of a mysterious illness and now another sister is missing. It is now up to Dalia to face the dangers and save her tribe.

This story intrigued me since it was set within a modern Mayan tribe and featured some Mayan lore. Dalia's character grabbed me in her struggle between her two worlds. I also enjoyed all of the supernatural elements, it was interesting how vampires and dragons were melded into the Mayan stories to fit so well. I am very interested in the lohil- Carrick as well as the force within Dalia's amulet. I really want to know what will happen between Dalia and Carrick as well as what Dalia decides to do with her life. The story ends on quite a cliffhanger, so I will definitely be reading on.

This book was received for free in return for an honest review.

ONE ULTIMATE ADVENTURE!!!
Feel the thrill! Chris brought out a mass of artillery for this tough as nails, nerve racking, rollercoaster ride, fusing this baby together flawlessly. Non-stop, action packed, heart pounding, pulse racing, page flipping bombshell that keeps you riveted and frozen to your seat. Add drama, turmoil, tension, intrigue and mounting suspense along with a boatload of danger while dodging calamity, makes for one block busting adventure. The dynamics and presentation in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into this web so deep until everything else ceases to exist. Satisfying is an understatement, it doesn't get any better than this. You feel everything the characters feel, become a part of the story instead of on the sidelines. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this gem into a tempest, bursting it into a hissy with a stupefying, mind-blowing culmination. The characters are authentic and realistic with depth and qualities that transform into outstanding personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions, as to give you a full understanding and realism that flows smoothly. Amazing job Chris, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

WOW – this is the first book that I have read by Chris Patt – and I can honestly say that it won’t be the last!!! This author is definitely an awesome writer!!

I love how the author starts off with explaining the details of the Mayan prophesy. The covering the details of the ancient prophecy about a coming war that is predicted to annihilate her people. Then when the story jumps to the modern day of when the prophecy comes to life. Dalia is the main character in regards to how the story is told. She was born in the jungle but was taken to a distant city and raised by nuns in a monastery for most of her life. When the prophecy is threatening to come true, Delia is suddenly called upon to return to the jungle and her family. When spiritual encounters start to make her realize that Dalia is the one chooses to save her people. I don’t write spoilers – so I will just say that you really need to read the book and find out what Delia does and how it all takes place!!!

I really loved this book and am looking forward to the next book of the series!!!

I love to read books without truly knowing the story line. I was so surprised when reading this. Pleasantly.. And so excited to finish this book....
Dalia is a teenager who's grown up in the myan community. The you gest of her sisters, and being told by her mom who's a seer, she was sent to a church to live with nuns for a few years... She was never told quite sure why. But she loved living in the real world not living in her village... She loves pants and shoes and most girls do....
Then the story takes a turn.. She's returned home and discovered one sister has died and another has been made in charge... Time women protect the community.
You have to read this book. I'm so excited to read book two... There's vampires... And lore I've never come across in all the vampire books I've read. The excitement I just can't even explain. The author went a new way with vampires.. Magic.. Dragons? I said dragons. Read it. You wont be disappointed.
I was given this book to write my honest excited review. You got it.

After reading the short story Temple Origins I needed to see where it went. So I grabbed Reign Drops and dove right in. There are some stories that take a while to get started. This was not one of those. In fact this story captivated me from the start. I had trouble putting it down because I wanted to know more about Dalia and Celestra.

The characters are all so well written that I can close my eyes and see them I can imagine the sounds and feelings. When Dalia was dreaming in the class room. I could hear the narrator of the movie reel clearly. I could see the dragon perched on the building. And smell the smoke of the projector reel when it burned.

I absolutely loved Dalia's personality and struggle when Celestra barges in. And finding out the true nature of the lohil was not something I saw coming. I really hope we have more interaction with Carrick.

While I love a good paranormal story I am not a huge fan of historical books but I was intrigued by this book and gave it a try. So glad I did, what a great mix of historical culture and way of life set into the modern world, through in some vampires and you get a unique story that is refreshing to read. The characters are well written and the story line flowed nicely. I like how the book did not end with a cliff hanger but did leave enough questions to allow for the next book in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good story line. Look forward to reading more by this author.

History, mystery, fantasy this book has it all. I love this kind of books it was very intriguing. Something "seen" and predicted may come true??? Fast forward to modern times, a Mayan girl lives with nuns and visits home in the jungle, there she finds her sister passed away and her adventure starts. Vampires arrived and kill her people. Will her other sister be able to stop it or is it up to Dalia? Very well written story, lots of twists and turns it will keep you interested from A to Z. characters are well developed and keep you on your toes. Can't wait to read more books in this series.

1.5 stars I don’t understand all the 4 & 5 star reviews. I had to force myself to keep reading – not because it was bad but because it was boring. I did like the novelty of the Mayan culture but I never felt immersed in the story and I never connected with Dalia. I ended up DNF at about ¾ of the way through cause I kept expecting the pace to pick up and interesting things to happen and they didn’t and I just could not bring myself to spend any more time on it.

I liked the book. It has an interesting start to the series as it weaves Mayan and magical creatures together. The characters were relatable and the story moved along at a good pace. Not all the mysteries were solved at the end, but it is a series. I look forward to the next book.

A very entertaining read, a page-turner that keeps the reader going on until the last page.
The powerful combination of Mayan culture and dragons creates a unique fantasy world full of wonders and dangers. Dalia is a very likable and easily relatable heroine, written in a complex way that she feels realistic and the reader can understand her feelings are motivation. She is strong, independent, determined, and courageous, and her attitude is one of the things that kept me reading (aside from many other aspects). The romance develops nicely and increases as the story progresses, and I enjoyed the development in relationships as much as the plot twists. A truly engaging reading experience.

great book. was a little confusing in the beginning(timeline wise). It was self explanatory when the word "Atlanta" was mentioned, I realized that it was modern day. The dragon and Dalia make a great team. Comical even. Was hoping that Carrick and Dalia would hook up. Maybe another story to continue so that Kastos and the dragon would be reunited.

Dalia, a Mayan girl, living with Sisters in Belize City since she was eight years old has to return to her tribe in the jungle before the end of the Mayan calendar. The events that unfold are not at all what she had anticipated. This well written story is something you do not want to put down. I found it very enjoyable.

A powerful story. The Mayan calendar ends. Some people laughed, while others were nervous. What’s really going to happen. Don’t miss out, excellent story.
