“The fact that I haven’t been with a man in forever is of no consequence. I want this man. Right now.”
I ♥ this book!!!!
“This is the first time my professionalism has ever been tested,” I whisper, surprised that the words are spoken aloud.
I adored Simon Danbury. With his resemblance to Henry Cavill and his British accent he had me melting right from the start. His passion for his work, how he really wanted to make a difference in women’s lives, make them realise their true worth was amazing. I loved how he was instantly drawn to Charly, how he wanted to do the right thing by not getting involved with a client but he just couldn’t stay away from her, wanting to spend time with her, to get to know her. And I really loved that after they parted ways when the seminar ended, thinking they wouldn’t see each other again, he went looking for her in New Orleans, because he couldn’t not see her again. And he was so perfect the way he listened to her, ran her baths after a long day of work, he even gave her a foot rub! *swoon* Luckily he wasn’t too perfect. His painful past with his ex-wife, the way she treated him, has left him with more demons and issues than he realised, and he messed up a few times with Charly, but he never had a problem with apologising, with grovelling to get her back. And that made him one of my favorite book boyfriends!
This man doesn’t just make my knees weak. He makes me forget that I even have knees.
Charly Boudreaux was amazing! She’s sassy, stubborn and so loyal to her family. She’s definitely my kind of heroine with her love of shoes (she even made a business out of it) and her need for organising (I loved that she kept spreadsheets for packing ;-D ). Despite her family’s wealth she’s always been determined to make her own way and with hard work she’s made her shoe shop a major success. I loved how she let her tough guard down around Simon, how she allowed herself to be vulnerable with him. And the thing I loved most about her was that she wasn’t hesitant in telling him exactly what she thought of his actions when he acted like an ass and that didn’t just readily forgive him when he messed up.
“You’re the closest to heaven I’ll ever be, Charlotte.”
Their instant attraction was fantastic, but the romance was still a bit of a slow burn which I loved. With every moment they spent together and apart you could see them fall deeper in love and even when they hit some obstacles, both struggling with the intensity of their feelings, they still overcame it because they loved each other, and in the end those hurdles were necessary and made their relationship so much stronger.
I have such a deep fondness for the Boudreaux siblings and their spouses. Their closeness and banter is amazing, and it was hilarious how Eli and Beau tried to intimidate Simon, demanding to know his intentions towards their sister. And that snippet at the end when Beau and Mallory meets…. *squee* I can’t wait to read the next book!!!
I adore this series so much and this book was the perfect addition. I can’t recommend this series enough. READ IT.

I personally think a lot of us feel ashamed when we try so hard to help someone, only to have that help thrown back in our face or ignored altogether, and we are doing ourselves such a disservice in feeling that way. It’s important to speak up, and to talk to those closest to you so they can help you. No one who loves you will stand for you being manipulated or hurt, and you should not be ashamed to talk about it.
The fact that I haven’t been with a man in forever is of no consequence. I want this man. Right now.
You’re stuck with me, love

The fact that I haven’t been with a man in forever is of no consequence. I want this man. Right now.
This man doesn’t just make my knees weak. He makes me forget that I even have knees.
“You're going to bloody kill me,” he says and rolls me onto my back so he can kiss me deeply. “But fucking hell, what a way to go.”
“You’re the closest to heaven I’ll ever be, Charlotte.”
