There is a lot to like about this look, but ultimately it was not for me.
The thing that is top notch about it is that if you are new to quilting and you are trying to get a handle on what you need to get started, this author goes through the tools that she considers essential and why she recommends them. She has a cutting technique that is unusual, and if you are very concerned with precision cutting, is one way to approach it. She does have a deep bench when it comes to rulers, and she tells you why she likes each of them.
Then she does a variety of techniques, including English Paper Piecing and hand applique. This is a good thing because she does a lot of mixing of these techniques with piecing, and it gives her quilts a multi-modality look that I like.
So what it comes down to is that I do not care for her color sense over all, I do not like her use of busy fabrics, and there are way too many large scale prints for my taste. I think it leaves the work looking a bit middled and some of the really exciting workmanship is lost, at least to my eye.

Australian fabrics are unique: natural compositions of birds, animals, plants. Many are batik or otherwise dyed. These quilts seem busy to me, too many patterns in the fabrics and not enough space for my eye and mind to rest. Clearly an intentional style.

Wonderful photography. Unusual, imaginative quilts. I could enjoy reading this over again later. There are lots of techniques that are new to me and deserve more study. Her use of hexagons lead me to read Hex-a-go-go to learn more!
