Kenny In this place, the Omega Auction House, I was nothing but a commodity. A far cry from when I had just turned eighteen and after intense vetting and negotiations, my father had proudly announced that he’d placed me with the Whiskey River pack. No one could dispute that it had been a good placement, as I’d spent the next four years being spoiled and cosseted by my Alpha. Four years of sharing his life, whimpering under his touch, and raising the pups that we had created together only to find myself here. Pregnant and alone, abandoned by the Alpha who'd sworn to make me his own.
Drey Hell and damnation! My opportunity to make a good first impression on my new Omega and damned if my grand entrance hadn't gone unnoticed. Both Omegas present were intently focused on the dragon in the room. Not only that, but the bastard had a firm grip on the neck of the sweet little redhead I had just purchased. I wasn’t one to cling to the old adage that wolves and dragons had to be enemies, but seriously. Damn dragon.
One unwanted Omega plus one eager Alpha, it should be simple, right? When Kenny's former Alpha attempts to re-stake his claim, the complications mount with Kenny the grand prize in The Mating Game.

I still liked the sweet and sexy A/B/O shifter world that Rhodes has created here, and many of the characters are still kind and endearing, but there were also a handful of issues that kept me from truly enjoying this one as I did the first two stories in the series.
Firstly, I just couldn't get past the inconsistencies in the timeline. All the books overlap in some way, and having just read books one and two, I found myself very aware of all the things that simply didn't add up. I won't go into detail; I already ranted enough of my exasperation over this issue in my status updates.
Secondly, there were simply too many POV's being shared at a quick pace, to the point I kept losing track of whose perspective I was reading. I should make it clear that I'm a huge fan of multi-POV's in my stories, and even though I appreciate what Rhodes was doing here, it simply didn't end up working for me. It was great to see all the main players (from the series to date) have page time, however, it just resulted in a plot that was convoluted and confusing.
Thirdly, Kenny was such a wet blanket character. I don't blame his Omega nature at all - the truth is I kinda dig those characters and the fun dynamics they create - but Kenny was just ridiculous from start to finish. The fact he never stood up and questioned why some rando was telling him his Alpha (Colin) was sending him to auction, even though they'd been in love and growing their little family for years, is beyond me. He simply went with it, and then when he was found, he reacted like Colin was to blame for his stupidity, and I wasn't having any of it. He'd had 5 kids with this guy, who spoiled him and loved on him for years, but he decided to throw it all away because someone he didn't know told him Colin didn't want him anymore?? What!? TSTL!! Thank god all the other characters were likeable, because at least that kept me interested and placated my rage at Kenny's idiocy.
Fourthly, I think the synopsis is crazy misleading. It suggests the story is about a discarded pregnant Omega who moves on with a new Alpha. I mean, I thought I was reading a story about Alpha Drey's new romance! Instead, poor Drey, stand-up guy that he is, simply stood on the sidelines of the story as everyone and their wolf tries to convince Kenny that he's been misled and that Colin is the Alpha for him. Misleading synopsis is misleading.
Fifthly, I can't even with Colin's Scottish accent. I don't care that he's Scottish - hell, that's awesome and much appreciated - but the way his accent was translated into the writing of his dialogue left a lot to be desired.
Okay, so that all sounds like a lot of negative, but as I said, the A/B/O world and the majority of the characters are great. I even appreciated the way some of the loose ends from the last book were tied up here. This is definitely not a series where you can read any given book as a standalone either, but that's okay if you're willing to dig in and enjoy the full experience by reading in order.
I may have had (many) issues with this third story, but I'm still eager to read about some of the peripheral characters as they get their own HEA's. Plus, DRAGONS!!!!
The Mating Game also known as prove your love to me.
Well Scottish wolf shifter Collin is willing to do just that to regain the faith of the man he's loved for four years, has had many children with but has been unable to officially mate.
Kenny has lost trust in his Alpha who's allowed him to be taken, put up for auction, sold, bought. Lucky for him, his night in shining armor, Dean, has come to his rescue. Who will win his love and loyalty? This is like the most enticing tv show hehe.
Things get pretty damn corny in this one, but I wasn't deterred.
“The air might as well thank me for breathing it or the water for me drinking it. Ye’re every bit as necessary to my life as they are.”
I think Alpha Collin and all his Scottish ruggedness is melt in the rug romantic with his unfiltered adoration for his omega.
This is definitely more of an ensemble cast, each book bringing in new shifters into the mix but all of the previous characters are very much apart of the storyline: Trevor, Clint, Colt, Rafe, Colby *content sigh*
I'm entirely captivated by this series, and can't wait for Thane's story. The Omega that's been rescued from the trafficking ring. Who will claim the outgoing, outspoken omega?
*smh*🤦🏽♀️ I'm certain this addiction I have is not healthy.
2.5 stars. Another book from this strange ABO world.
Instead of an insta-love Aplha/Omega story, we have here a jumble of POVs (I'm not even sure the MCs got the most on-page time!), a crime story, an empath story, a villain who hasn't been caught although he acts stupidly etc...
Still, it took my mind off the RL, so why not?
Oh! And I'd take butt babies any time! This Omega slit freaks me out!!!
I'm jumping now to book 5, All That Glitters, cause I'm curious of dragon shifters in this crazy world. And one of my friends says that it makes more sense if book 5 is read before book 4.
Once again, I'm just going to set the multiple editing errors (names mixed up, missing punctuation, grammar issues) aside.
I enjoyed some of this story. Especially how wonderful Drey was, Colin and Kenny's relationship in total, getting to see the birth, and that some of the dangling threads of the series have been closed off.
The major negative for me (besides the aforementioned editing) was the timeline. Maybe if I hadn't just read book one or two I wouldn't have noticed, but this was extremely confusing because in this book it's about two days after the end of the Omega auction and yet the omega from book one (Trevor) is months along in his pregnancy and it's more than a month after the omega from book 2 (Colby) got bought at the same auction. It just made no sense to me whatsoever.
Also, I have to admit the plethora of POV changes for this drove me nearly insane.
However, there's something about this series that keeps me coming back for more. I'm really looking forward to a story featuring Drey finding his own mate, to getting Cian and Trevahn Falk's story, and seeing what the fall out is, if any, from Althea's pack.
Spoiler Ahead This was a really good book and a really good series. Kenny is an Omega who thought he had a great life he is pregnant he has a loving Alpha Colin who is the pack leader of Whiskey River pack. When Colin tells him that his father has arranged a contract to mate a Alpha female so they could have peace between the packs. All is going well until he meets the alpha female Althea to takes a dislike to Kenny and wants to get rid of him and his unborn pup. When he says no he finds himself being taken to an Auction house to be sold Kenny is hurt that Colin would do this to him and not even allow him to say goodbye to his other kids. I hated Althea even when she was first mentioned in book 2. Colin thought that Kenny ran away and couldn't understand why. When Kenny is purchased by Drey an Alpha of his pack who is also a lawyer knows that it is something more going on with Kenny and when he calls Rafe he finds out that they have been looking for him that Colin was very upset that he ran away. I really liked this book it was the best one in this series so far to me. When Kenny is kidnapped again after being hit by a car he escapes and run into the forest he comes across Trevor who helps him by taking him back to his pack. Turns out Trevor has some kind of calming and heeling ability. The book also had some funny scenes like when the Alpha dragon came looking for help for his omega when he shifted he has a very big (stick) and all the omega's gasped it was funny. I also liked how Colin got rid of Althea and her brother. I really hope that there will be a 4th book in this series or a spin off I really am interested in knowing about the Dragon and his Omega Cian who Kenny met at the Auction house. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am really looking forward to reading the next book.
I so enjoyed this third book in the Omega Auction series. There is plenty of action, bad guys, kidnappings, escapes, misunderstandings, reconciliations and mostly love acted on. These men love deeply and they show it. No empty words. I love that the stories each build on the new H/h but the old characters are just as deeply involved. Very satisfying and I looking forward to book four. Adult read
Okay, there seems to be a loose end that I'd really like to see tied off, but maybe in the future. And I'd really like to know what happened to Jack, the bastard.
I really enjoyed the first three books, but this not as much. I didn’t like the way the same scene was described by a different character. It was too repetitious. I have the next booking the series and will certainly read it. I only hope it more like the first ones.
Although this book could be read alone, the story and characters make more sense when you start from book 1. The writing is good and the characters are great. I really got a good sense of each one. I love books like that. I almost feel like I'm going through everything right beside them. Kenny, the Omega, went missing in the previous book. Rafe, an Alpha from a previous book, was hired to find him. Kenny, a very pregnant Omega, was originally sent away because his Alpha's, Colin's new contract mate sent him to the auction house. It was either that or she would have him and the baby killed. Colin had told Kenny that he would always love him and the only reason he hadn't claimed him was because he was expected to mate with the daughter of a rival pack t poo prevent a war. They already had children and Kenny was worried how Althea would treat them after Kenny left. At the auction house, Kenny was bought by Drey. Drey didn't expect to buy an Omega, let alone a pregnant one. Kenny was suffering from lack of an Alpha's touch. Between that and being petrified about his and the baby's future he was a mess. Drey took him home an comforted him, calmed him down. Kenny didn't want to tell Drey his story so Drey hired Rafe to find out. Rafe was stunned when he walked in and saw Kenny asleep against Drey. Rafe explained the story as he knew it and contacted Colin right there. Colin came immediately and was not happy about this Alpha's and Kenny's sent mixed together. At first Kenny was Leary about Colin. He thought Colin had let him go and didn't care. Colin finally got through to Kenny that he loved him and would've spent his life looking for him. Drey liked Kenny but he knew Kenny loved colin, wanted and needed him and so did the unborn baby. Drey told Kenny to give Colin another chance. In the midst of this Kenny was kidnapped by the people running an Omega kidnapping ring that Rafe has been looking for. In a previous book he had saved alot of Omegas that were kidnapped to be put open for sale. The kidnappers had an Alpha set up to buy Kenny and also had a doctor coming to abort his baby. He escaped and managed to be saved by an Omega from a neighboring pack, also from a previous book. Of course things worked out, it's an HEA after all. Rafe caught the kidnapper, who was someone Rafe knew. Obviously, I'm leaving out all the good stuff or it wouldn't be any fun to read and this a definite must read.
So I'm odd man out. This one drove me crazy. The POV shifts had me so confused that I did not know who was who by the end - and I liked the first two books. This book needed focus - all the different POV's and their stories overwhelmed the two characters who were supposed to be MC's and made this a chore to get through. It made the story stutter and it felt super choppy-especially since some of these POV's went over things that already happened. It felt unpolished and extremely draft - more like an outline for a book than something I want to pay $$ for. Plus things introduced that make no sense like the dragon's.
Overall I was happy after #2 to continue the general story of the omega's and their rescue (though there is very little to that in here) but I needed a much more coherent flow, way less POV's, and more connection to Kenny and his alpha. I wasn't feeling his sale at an emotional level - and I went from caring about him in Book #2 to not really caring much in this one. If the next one is like this then the series and I will part ways now. I was really disappointed.
I have to say that at first, I wasn't really on team Colin since he had been with Kenny for 4 years without mating him. Granted there were political concerns, but surely within that amount of time something could have been figured out to allow them to mate. Having said that, I was very pleased with how this story progressed and how it ended. I definitely liked Dray and hope to be able to read more about him in future books.
OK, First please, please, please tell me that there will be more books in this brilliant captivating series which includes two of my favourite shifters, Wolves & Dragons!!!!!! HELL YEAH. There are at least two babies I need to see born as well as finding out what happens (if anything) between Drey & his intended omega.
okay, I'm addicted... There's just something about this story, these characters, the way the plots all mingle together throughout the series. I'm really enjoying it - MPreg and Omegas, who knew?
I feel like this book is more like an intermission than an actual novel. This was definitely a good read however the story was not as solid as the previous books in this series. What I’m trying to say is while the prior two books in the series have an established love story, this book contains more about other people than actual two main MCs. Even the description of the book made me confused since I thought the alpha who purchased Kenny was MC but turned out he was a supporting character in this one. However, I did learn a lot about the connection between packs and I’m really excited about the fifth book in this series since it’s about dragon shifters. I’m even seriously thinking about skipping book 4 but I can’t make myself skip so I’m reading book 4 first and I’m sure that’d also be an enjoyable read. I didn’t give this book 4 stars because I’m a bit disappointed by messed up names and some grammar mistakes and while I also found some mistakes like that in book one and two, I seriously think they need to do better job at editing the books. Apart from that, not much to complain. I really enjoyed this book too.
Kenny is a lovely pregnant Omega who was taken to auction to save his life from a wench of a female who was to be bred by his Alpha, Colin. Kenny is saved by Drey, an amazing Alpha who doesn't expect anything from Kenny. He just wants to help. Colin really isn't a bad Alpha. I really liked how the story included Alphas and Omegas from the past books, but it's been a while since I read their stories and it would have been nice to get a little reminder about their stories.
This the the third book in the series and I really enjoyed the continuous characters as well as new characters being brought in. A good read, roll on the next one.
Oh this is fun. I love the growing world of these shifters. Yes, more world building would be helpful but this may be all this author can give. So I giggle as we meet more kinds of shifters. We see all the players from the previous books. Babies, babies, babies is talked about but we didn’t spend a lot of time with them. The biggest surprise in this series is I expected to skim over endless pages of overwritten sex. But it turns out this author doesn’t use it as filler at least in this book. I applaud that! Oh there’s plenty of heat but there’s not that endless page after page after page after page… The bulk of the story is about a pregnant omega but he wasn’t a whiny player in this series, yeah!
This book's precis is somewhat misleading as this book is only incidentally about Drey but rather about Kenny and Collin with a liberal dose of the past couples.
There is a lot of flowery language that distracted in the sex scenes, but they were still hot. There are a lot of threads that are wrapped up as well as new ones introduced for future books.
I wouldn't call them great books but there is something that keeps me interested in the series
I simply love the story line from the author. So much so, that I’m willing to slightly over look some of the inconsistencies matching the details combining the other books prior. The timelines are a little off. Overall, I love the characters.
This book was great and it cleared up all the unanswered questions I had from the last book all while making want to see what happens next. On a side note there were to many proofing mistakes for me to give it 5 stars it was just small things and not characters I could let it go.
As far as the series goes, this book was my least favorite. I'm not saying that I didn't like it at all because there was a lot in this book I liked, but also a lot that I wasn't so fond of. 1st off, Out of all the omegas so far in this series, Kenny was the least likable. He was much more of a wishy-washy limp dishrag for much of the book, occasionally showing bits of spine, but otherwise having a bland personality that I couldn't quite connect with. He's also very quick to start trying to attach himself to a new Alpha, Drey, even going so far as to pretty much reject the Alpha he's supposed to be in love with, Colin. All of this because of something he was told was done on the orders of Colin... even after he's told that Colin had nothing to do with it and has been going crazy actively searching for him, Kenny is still rejecting Colin for most of the book. Another thing that bothered me was the treatment of omegas seemed to twist and reshape itself for each story in the series. We're led to believe each Alpha we've met would NEVER let anything bad happen to Omegas, but yet find the treatment of Omegas in, or even the existence of, an Omega Auction ok. Especially after seeing how one is run and the humiliation their Omegas must have endured at their hands, they don't seem to have much of an issue with the status quo. BUT, kidnapping Omegas and doing pretty much the same thing the auction house does is HORRIBLE... idgi. Instead of their home pack making money off selling them into what amounts to sexual slavery, the kidnappers make money doing the same thing.... I think one scenarios is as bad as the other honestly. Finally, the point of view shifts almost every single chapter. If it had been between just the 3 main characters in the story, I wouldn't have had any problem with it. But, in this story the pov shifts not just between those 3 characters, but between the pov of just about every character we've met so far in the series, sometimes even rehashing the same events only from a different pov. I liked that we got to revisit the characters from the other stories that I liked so much. However, I feel like I would have been able to connect with Kenny more if the author had used those pages to explore and grow *KENNY'S* personality instead. It doesn't say much for the main characters of this book that they needed the characters from the prior books to carry the plot over the finish line, though.
All in all, this was an enjoyable read for a lazy day at home if you're looking for something fluffy and mindless. The sex scenes were steamy and there was some action and light angst (mostly self induced). So, if you're looking for something easy light, this is a good read.
This series is really not very consistent - the first one was so so, where as I really enjoyed the second one. This one I did not like. Mostly because I didn't like Kenny or Colin. And as they were the main characters the story revolved around, I found it hard to engage. I liked Drey, and he definitely deserved a better Omega than Kenny, but he was a bit too much of a do-gooder for me. Didn't seem to ring completely true with his own thoughts earlier in the book.
Kenny is the pregnant omega Clint and Colt talked to at the Omega auction in book 1. The reasoning behind him ending up there was pretty thin. Why would anyone believe a complete strangers word over the person you are in a long term relationship with? And even if you did, why would you not believe your partner (and the father of your 5 children) when he told you, you had been lied to?
Also the kidnapping plot lost all it's steam during this book, it was an interesting storyline in book 2, but it seemed like the author forgot where they were going with it and just decided to let it conveniently collapse...
I am going to get the next one, because it's available in the Romance Package on Audible, and I'm still interested enough that I have questions about the visit from the Dragon shifter, which was never answered in this book. But this one was a miss for me.
As a side note, there was waaaaaay too many pregnancies, babies and births in the story for my liking. I'm guessing that particular detail will haunt the next story too, as there are quite a few preggers omega's still wandering about.
The story line was great but as many other reviewers have said, the multiple POVs was ridiculous. As I’ve always said, I enjoy multiple POVs so long as they contribute to the plot. These ones didn’t... there is a scene with the 3 omegas are sitting together and we get each of their POV of the same conversation... that’s not necessary one bit. A good author can let you know what those other characters are feeling and thinking without showing those POVs. And in all honestly this author did that well so I’m sure what the point of everyone’s POVs was about. Maybe they have insecurities on getting their point across? Idk but I hope as the books progress we can start to see more confidence in the writing. If I hold out that long...
I also hated the fact that this was Kenny and Colin’s book but we still got the POVs from all the MCs of the 1st 2 books... I get that the plot line giving us some of the missing pieces from the first 2 books but the focus should still be on Kenny and Colin. Where I loved both Clint and Trev and Rafe and Colby, I didn’t really need read their sex scenes in a book that’s not theirs. It was hott of course but unnecessary. It made this book feel more like one of those holiday specials that catch up with all the couples. Rather than the story of Kenny and Colin.
Okay, I know some reviewers complained about the not having enough details about Kenny and Colin. I can see where you are coming from. It would have been nice to get more background on each of them. Plus, we know what each pack kind of specializes; what the are know for. Maybe I missed it, but what does Colin's pack do?
However, I do like the way the author writes this book. As I am reading, it is like I am watching a movie. As he moves from one character to the next, I am going through each scene and some overlap so you can see how the timeline falls. I love how he has created this world and how each character is connected. It like the six degrees of Trevor ;)
With that said, I cannot wait to see how the story unfolds with Trevor and the dragons, Cian and Trevahn Falk. Also, is there going to be any fall back from the 'no go' on the mating contract? Then there is Drey, and I hope to see his story soon. Finally, I have to believe there is more to the stolen Omega story, which I am sure we will find out more as Jack goes to trial.
I found the timelines a little wonky. Supposedly the day that Drey bought Ken as the same day that Clint bought Colby. And Colin was called almost immediately, but when Clint and Colby showed up, they were already mated and Colby was pregnant. That was faster than expected!!
Enjoyed but there seemed to be too much happening with the Omegas that folks are just now figuring out. They've been investigating for nine months but they can't find out where some of the Omegas belong?? I think I'm having more of a problem with this book than I realized.
Even so, I really enjoy the characters and I just have to find out what is happening with Jack.
Pregnant omega, Kenny, is heartbroken when his Alpha sends him away to an omega auction after he gets a new contract mate. He's then purchased by an alpha lawyer, Drey, who seeks to save him and his baby in any way that he can. Will Drey and Kenny find love? Or will Kenny get a second chance with his beloved alpha, Colin?
This was a wonderful story. (Among many in this series.) I loved all of the characters and the storyline.
Gosh this one had a bit of everything, kidnapping, pregnancy, legal wrangling, missing one has, dodgy villains - oh and dragons!
And, speaking of dragons, I hope Trey and Cian's story is on its way soon as I really want to know more about Dragon shifters. As before, the pacing in this book was great, lots of time for the narrative to develop and plenty more world building.
