3,5. Soy muy fan de las escritoras inglesas/irlandesas. Tienen "un no sé qué, que qué se yo" que me fascina y que siempre me deja satisfecha. Como esta novela. Porque pueden parecerse en la forma pero nunca en el fondo. Y ese fondo siempre es un soplo de aire fresco ante tanta novela similar.
Consigue que una historia parezca sencilla, cuando no lo es. Me ha gustado la protagonista pero no sería nada sin todos los secundarios que la acompañan en esta especie de viaje a San Francisco y a una reflexión sobre la dirección de su vida.
Me ha faltado un poco más de emoción, de ahí la puntuación, al menos no me ha llegado tanto como esperaba.
Estoy segura de querer repetir con esta escritora.

“SARÀ PERCHÉ TI AMO” sono parole ben note a quasi tutti gli italiani e solitamente associate all’omonima canzone dei Ricchi e Poveri. Chissà perché, però, nel corso della lettura, non lo sentivo un titolo così in sintonia con i toni del romanzo di Niamh Greene quindi, per curiosità, sono andata a cercare quello originale. In realtà non avrei dovuto stupirmi più di tanto, considerati i molteplici casi di traduzioni libere, ma ho ritenuto che il titolo in lingua madre fosse decisamente più azzeccato, oltre che del tutto diverso: “A Message To Your Heart”.
Ebbene, premesso ciò, pur non essendo entusiasta di questo libro, devo ammettere che è una lettura scorrevole e abbastanza piacevole: l’autrice ci presenta la sua protagonista, Francesca, come una persona apparentemente sicura di sé, convinta nonché soddisfatta delle proprie scelte lavorative ed affettive, ma la perdita dell’inseparabile cellulare la costringerà a mettere in discussione tutta la propria vita e a ribaltarne la prospettiva.
Ho apprezzato alcune idee, così come le parentesi informative che la Greene ha inserito mescolandole al filo narrativo (non le esplicito per non anticipare nulla), però, al contempo ritengo che siano presenti forzature ed elementi scontati, a cui si aggiunge un finale frettoloso e poco soddisfacente.

Wow! Un libro muy pero que muy divertido. Perfecto para sacar del paro lector. Me ha gustado muchísimo, sin embargo creo que el final se ha quedado un poco flojo.
La historia es sencilla, no tiene giros de 360 grados, pero si que entretiene. Muy recomendado!

Cuando vi esta novela en amazon, me llamó muchísimo la atención pero no me animé a comprarla porque, mucha gente hacía referencia a Cecilia Ahern, alegando que tienen el mismo "toque" en sus novelas. Entonces, se me vino a la mente algo de muerte y llanto y la verdad es que no me agradó ponerme a leer algo así... Sin embargo, hace un mes o así lo vi en el boletín de la editorial y pensé: ¡a hora o nunca! Y decidí solicitarlo.
Hasta en las mejores familias...
Frankie adora a sus padres y sus hermanos, no importa lo locos o impacientes que sean con ella, no importa si le creen lo ocupada que está intentando salvar a su empresa de la ruina, ella los quiere... Aunque, de lejitos es todo mejor. Después de dejar la agencia literaria en la que trabajaba y decidir irse por su cuenta, se ha encontrado con la terrible noticia de que el mundo empresarial no es tan fácil, mucho menos en cuestión de libros. Su empresa no termina de despuntar y sólo tiene una clienta que puede dejarle verdaderas ganancias. Pero Frankie ama lo que hace y ahí sigue, luchando por salir adelante. Frankie es un personaje que me gustó desde el inicio. Pese a estar en su cerebro todo el libro, me encantaba escucharla (?), creo que pocas veces consigo ese grado de comunión con la narración en primera persona. Me fascinaba ver cómo veía y asimilaba esas cosas que le sucedían, la manera en que luchaba consigo misma, recordándose la educación que le habían dado sus padres, por más que quisiera portarse mal con alguien. Ella es una trabajadora compulsiva que poco espacio tiene para sus amigos o sus familiares, hasta su relación romántica la mantiene en secreto. Es terca, impaciente, un poquito rara diría yo, pero muy divertida, con fuertes valores, es un tipo de persona con quien me encantaría tener una amistad. Aunque su familia era todo un caso.

No negaré que me la pasé un buen rato pensando: ¿cuándo perderá el celular? Pero después me di cuenta de la necesidad de contarnos lo que sucede al principio. Que es lo que finalmente orilla a Frankie a viajar hasta San Francisco para conseguir ese contrato con el loquísimo escritor famoso al que todos quieren atrapar. Me encantó la determinación de ella, esa manera de arriesgarse por algo que sabía que podía resultar o podía ser un completo fracaso. Pero siguió adelante con tal de rescatar su empresa. La interacción con Ian me dejó con un buen sabor de boca, creo que él fue un personaje que creció mucho durante la novela. Un hombre perdido en su zona de confort, que teme salir y enfrentarse al mundo y sus posibilidades y prefiere vivir a través de otros. ¿Cuánta gente hay así en este planeta? Muchas personas, diría yo. Entonces, era una relación compleja que Frankie no podía solucionar pero no por ello dejó de intentarlo. Y eso me gustó de carácter.
¿A quién no le ha llegado alguna vez un mensaje de texto equivocado?
Yo sabía de qué iría ese mensaje y no me equivoqué. Creo que de alguna manera se intuye con la sinopsis. No quiero arruinar esa parte del libro así que no la mencionaré pero sí quiero dejar claro que es una de las partes más emotivas de toda la novela. Al inicio, el lector puede estar tan confundido como Frankie y darle toda la razón en su comportamiento. Más tarde, cuando ella usa eso a su favor, no queda más que decir que después de todo, el fin justifica los medios. Pero conforme avanza la novela, la angustia de Frankie se hace palpable y yo la sufrí con ella. Entendía la encrucijada en la que estaba y lo complicado que sería salir de allí, ilesa.
Las apariencias engañan...
Estoy segura que muchos hemos caído en esa trampa en alguna ocasión. Nos dejamos llevar por el exterior y con ello, nos perdemos la oportunidad de conocer a gente magnífica. Por nuestros prejuicios, cualquiera que esos sean. Por eso, me divertí mucho cuando Frankie conoció a Rosie porque yo misma me he topado con gente así y he querido salir huyendo, en varias ocasiones lo he logrado y ahora, me pregunto si no dejé ir a alguna gran persona por mi actitud... En fin, Rosie es ese personaje alegre, que vive la vida de la manera más relajada posible, que no se la complica y que va por el mundo en plan de conocer y hacer amigos. Habla aunque no se lo pidan y tiene un sexto sentido muy desarrollado. Si ella no hubiera estado ahí para compartir cosas con Frankie, la vida de ella habría sido algo completamente diferente. Dicen que las personas que llegan a nuestra vida lo hacen por un motivo, y creo que Rosie y Frankie tenían a fuerza que conocerse.
¿Y si tu amor está del otro lado del mundo?
Pues esperen, que tengo que tomar un vuelo a Alemania ya mismo ;) Frankie y su "amor", no se conocen de la mejor manera, eso está claro. Y al inicio a ella le cae pero súper mal y él... bueno, él es un caso aparte que no comentaré para no spoilearlos. Pero, otra vez, las apariencias engañan. Cuando Frankie y Él, se permiten conocerse, todas las piezas comienzan a encajar. La manera en que se conocen, la forma en que conviven y los motivos por los que se enamoran. Cuando estos dos por fin se besan (ya muuuuy avanzado el libro) sentí que me desmayaba de felicidad. Así de romántica soy. Y aquí les diré algo: siempre me ha molestado esos romances en que parece que se conocieron ayer y hoy ya se aman... No podría decirles con exactitud cuántos días estuvo Frankie en San Francisco, pero no importan porque cuando ellos se dicen que se aman, lo sentí real y como lectora que soy, lo que quiero es eso, sentirlo real. La autora lo logró.

Mientras leía "Una chica a la moda de Susan Elizabeth Phillips", encontré la frase: este libro es sobre todo aquello que importa... Como a mí no me gustó esa novela, pensé: ¡al diablo con eso! Pero ahora, leyendo Un mensaje para tu corazón, no pude evitar recordarla y decirme: ESTA NOVELA SÍ ES SOBRE TODO AQUELLO QUE IMPORTA.
Un Mensaje para tu Corazón es una historia de crecimiento personal, de descubrimiento, de saber amarte y vivir tu vida de la mejor manera posible, porque es la única que tienes. Es una novela que invita a recordar que tenemos una vida más allá de los celulares y el trabajo, una vida en la que hay personas que importan y a las que les importamos y que lamentablemente, no siempre vemos que están ahí, hasta que ya es demasiado tarde. Es una novela increíble, de principio a fin, la novela más conmovedora e inspiradora que he leído en mucho tiempo. Niamh Greene hizo un libro inolvidable, bellamente escrito, que no te dejará indiferente.

E' il primo libro che leggo di questa autrice, non sapevo cosa aspettarmi, ma devo dire che sono rimasta piacevolmente sorpresa, e non vedo l'ora di leggere "Ti amo, ti odio, mi manchi" che è sul mio comodino da un bel paio di mesi.
Ma parliamo di questo libro.
Frankie Rowley è una donna in carriera che vive a Dublino, ha appena lasciato lo studio dove lavorava, per aprire qualcosa di suo. Lei è un’agente letteraria completamente dedita al suo lavoro. Ma per la crisi nel settore, il suo studio non sta andando a gonfie vele, anzi è praticamente in banca rotta. Ha una relazione segreta con un suo collega e con il suo Iphone.
Per salvare l'azienda dovrà trovare un'altro autore di grande successo, e la morte improvvisa di April, un’agente molto nota della concorrenza, le offre la possibilità di accaparrarsi un famoso scrittore, Ian Cartwright che si è ritirato a San Francisco in cerca dell'ispirazione. Sono anni che i suoi fan vogliono il seguito del suo famoso best sellers, ma lo scrittore non ne vuole più sentire parlare.
Francesca si reca a San Francisco in un tentativo disperato di convincere Ian ha diventare un suo cliente. Durante il volo per San Francisco il destino vuole che accanto a lei si sieda Rosie, una donna un po’ strana e chiacchierona ma di gran cuore, che si offre di farle conoscere la città durante la sua permanenza.
All’arrivo Frankie, si accorge di aver perso il suo telefono, e per lei è una tragedia, non può stare senza di esso, ed è costretta a prendere un telefono a noleggio per rimanere in contatto con il suo ufficio.
Neanche arrivata all'hotel inizia a ricevere degli strani messaggi molto personali. Per il primo momento decide di ignorarli, ma poi si sente in colpa e risponde avvertendo che sta sbagliando numero, entra cosi in contatto con un uomo di nome John che le spiega cosa è successo. Entrerà a fare parta di una storia emozionante che toccherà nel profondo la nostra protagonista.
Praticamente il numero che le è stato assegnato apparteneva ad Aimee, la sorella di John, morta a soli ventidue anni per un difetto cardiaco.
Era una ragazza allegra e piena di vita, la madre Anita ed il fratello John non si sono mai rassegnati alla sua morte e per cercare di sentirla più vicino hanno continuato a inviarle messaggi sul cellulare.
Frankie è molto dispiaciuta per questa storia e accetta di non dire nulla per non addolorare la madre, soprattutto ora che si avvicina il primo anniversario della morte di Aimee.
Nel frattempo Frankie incontra Ian, lui è un tipo solitario, bisbetico, la sua ispirazione sembra averlo abbandonato e non esiterà a costringerla a comportarsi in modo poco professionale, in cambio del suo ingaggio. Infatti per sbaglio Frankie rivela di ricevere questi strani messaggi, e Ian emozionato per la nuova idea costringe Frankie a presentarsi all'incontro con John e rivelare poi i particolari. Vuole scrivere un nuovo romanzo su questa storia davvero tragica.
Se Ian non dovesse firmare, Frankie perderebbe l’agenzia, per questo a malincuore è costretta ad accettare.
Ma la vicinanza con John e la conoscenza di Anita, spingono la protagonista a fare un passo indietro, anche se questo dovrebbe costare la sua agenzia.
E' stata una lettura davvero bella ed emozionante, poi la storia è davvero carina e originale.
I personaggi sono tutti descritti benissimo, e Rosie è una forza della natura, una vera amica, anche se conosce Frankie da una settimana non esita ad aiutarla, in tutti i modi possibili.
Ian è stato veramente un idiota, ma per fortuna si riprende, capisce che quello che vuole fare non è giusto.
Frankie all'inizio più sembrare una di quelle persone che farebbe di tutto per ottenere quello che vuole, ma dimostra un grande cuore.
John è davvero un'uomo sensazionale, e stato cresciuto bene dalla madre, anche lei una persona unica.
Aimee anche se non la incontriamo direttamente, la conosciamo attraverso i ricordi del fratello e della mamma, era davvero una persona piena di vita, anche se la vita stessa la stava abbandonando.
Vi consiglio di leggere questo libro, è una lettura si leggera, ma che tratta di temi importanti, quale la morte, la perdita e il dolore.
Non vedo l'ora di tuffarmi in un altro dei libri della Greene, anche perchè ho adorato il suo stile di scrittura.

Infatti per sbaglio Frankie rivela di ricevere questi strani messaggi, e Ian emozionato per la nuova idea costringe Frankie a presentarsi all'incontro con John e rivelare poi i particolari. Vuole scrivere un nuovo romanzo su questa storia davvero tragica.
Se Ian non dovesse firmare, Frankie perderebbe l’agenzia, per questo a malincuore è costretta ad accettare.
Ma la vicinanza con John e la conoscenza di Anita, spingono la protagonista a fare un passo indietro, anche se questo dovrebbe costare la sua agenzia.
E' stata una lettura davvero bella ed emozionante, poi la storia è davvero carina e originale.
I personaggi sono tutti descritti benissimo, e Rosie è una forza della natura, una vera amica, anche se conosce Frankie da una settimana non esita ad aiutarla, in tutti i modi possibili.
Ian è stato veramente un idiota, ma per fortuna si riprende, capisce che quello che vuole fare non è giusto.
Frankie all'inizio più sembrare una di quelle persone che farebbe di tutto per ottenere quello che vuole, ma dimostra un grande cuore.
John è davvero un'uomo sensazionale, e stato cresciuto bene dalla madre, anche lei una persona unica.
Aimee anche se non la incontriamo direttamente, la conosciamo attraverso i ricordi del fratello e della mamma, era davvero una persona piena di vita, anche se la vita stessa la stava abbandonando.
Vi consiglio di leggere questo libro, è una lettura si leggera, ma che tratta di temi importanti, quale la morte, la perdita e il dolore.
Non vedo l'ora di tuffarmi in un altro dei libri della Greene, anche perchè ho adorato il suo stile di scrittura.

Firstly, the cover is gorgeous – The colours and image was what initially drew me to the book and I was so glad that I picked it up to read!
I really liked this book, it was the perfect ‘escape’ read and I found myself looking forward to the times that I could sit down and curl up on the sofa for a few hours to read the next part. The setting was one of the things I loved most about the book. Niamh’s descriptions of San Francisco were fantastic – It made me feel as though I was transported there right into the scenes and I managed to get lost in the atmosphere of the story.
The characters came across very well. Frankie is a character who is instantly likeable and that readers can relate to in some way. Rosie is also a wonderful character and I very much looked forward to the parts where she featured. In fact, I think Rosie was my favourite!
I’ve not read any of Niamh’s other books before this one, but after reading A Message To Your Heart, I will be purchasing her other novels! A Message To your Heart is an uplifting, heart-warming story with the right amount of humour sprinkled throughout. This book is perfect to take on holiday or just to relax with!

Il mondo è bello perché è vario: ma davvero c’è gente che ama leggere questa roba? Scritta da dio, per carità, ma… lei è un agente letterario squattrinato con una segretaria pietosa, la sua autrice di punta in piena crisi esistenziale e un amante segreto. Si trova a dover sopportare le lagne della madre che vuole organizzare una festa di classe per il suo anniversario di matrimonio, con i due fratelli che invece che darle una mano nell’opera di contenimento non fanno altro che lasciare tutto in mano a lei. L’amante è okay, ma ha un linguaggio più arido di un deserto dell’Arizona ed è spietato come l’iceberg del Titanic. Non posso mica continuare a farmi del male nell’attesa di una svolta nella trama, non in queste condizioni. Ho un mucchio di altri – forse – bei libri da leggere e se non ne trovo di belli in quelli nuovi, posso sempre rileggermi gli oltre 160 “usato sicuro” della mia adorata libreria.

Me ha sabido a poco porque creo que de una buena premisa se ha escrito un libro mediocre, donde ni siquiera se cierran las tramas del todo... por ejemplo, si John vive en San Francisco y Frankie en ¿Dublín... ¿cómo van a hacerlo? ¿Quién de los dos renunciará a su familia y a su lugar de origen por el otro? Otra cosa es que no sabemos si la agencia de Frankie tira para adelante, algo que es lo que hace girar la trama de toda la novela.
En general me ha parecido repetitiva y sin mucho sentido desde el principio: que un escritor de prestigio necesite hasta el último dato para escribir una historia, cuando con solo la premisa, su imaginaciín debería echar a volar, es algo que no logro entender.
La narración, aunque sencilla, se me ha hecho repetitivo. Había párrafos en los que se repetía lo mismo una y otra vez, incluso con las mismas palabras. Desde luego, no considero que esté a la altura de sus vecinas Marian Keyes y Sophie Kinsella.

Frankie loses her phone and has to hire out a new one. cue messages she starts receiving to a woman called Aimee.
She then decides to meet up with the sender of the texts John; and thus is were the story just got too predictable. it was easy to figure out what was going to happen to each character.
there was a good plotline however it was padded out with too much fluff that wasn't needed.
too many extra characters were added that I felt weren't really needed. e.g Rosie. yes she may have been the "fate" character however all the characters would have met and gone their way despite her pushing the fate element.

Una historia bonita, sencilla, muy buena opción para unas tardes relajantes de lectura.
La trama es simple. No hay mayores sorpresas. Y aún así, se disfruta de principio a fin.
Un buen mensaje sobre la importancia de las personas a nuestro alrededor, sobre establecer prioridades, sobre dejarse llevar de vez en cuando, sobre no darse por vencido y sobre disfrutar la vida al máximo, sin importar lo difícil que pueda ser.
La trama es simple. No hay mayores sorpresas. Y aún así, se disfruta de principio a fin.

Piacevole, ma niente di eccezionale.
È una lettura leggera, niente di impegnativo, la storia direi che procede un po' a rilento, però è carina, anche se forse un po' banale, tipico dei romanzi rosa.
A me l'hanno prestato, non lo consiglierei come acquisto, ci sono alternative, seppur leggere e pur sempre banali, più scorrevoli e dinamiche da leggere.

What I thought about it:
OK, this is one of those books which will blow you away completely, as in knock your socks off and leave you shocked and speechless. First of all, I loved the concept of the book. Lost phone, new and strange city, mysterious texts and a lot of surprises.
A Message to Your Heart is about Francesca "Frankie" Rowley who is a literary agent, with her own (failing) agency. She puts her job before everything else, and neglects her family. She finds herself in beautiful San Francisco, without her phone. Too dependant on her phone, she is forced to hire a replacement phone, then the story unfolds.
Initially, I didn't warm up to Frankie. No offence to the author, but I didn't particularly like her attitude at the beginning. She was really exasperating at times, and seems to allow the guy she's seeing step over her and mark his shoe prints all over her. But then as the story progressed, she changes and slowly, I began to like her. A lot. My favourite character has to be, hands down, Rosie! I was a bit cynical when I first read about her, but as I got to know her, sort of befriend her through Frankie (the book is written from Frankie's perspective), I realised I really enjoyed her wonderful, lively presence in the book!
Oddly, the plot reminds me of Sophie Kinsella's I've Got Your Number, except in this case, the story is much deeper and emotional. Beware, this book is an emotional roller-coaster. As the plot unfolds, everything will seem clearer and makes sense. I would really like to point out the masterful way Niamh constructed the story. It was highly credible and it kept me reading, page after page. Although some parts of the book is quite predictable, the twists and surprises made up for me.
The majority of the book is set in San Francisco, so it was a really enjoyable experience exploring the hills and hot spots of San Francisco with Frankie. Niamh managed to evoke her memories in San Francisco with great detail, so at times, I felt like I was having coffee with Frankie in the dainty little cafe with a grouchy waitress with bushy eyebrows which have not met tweezers! It was an escapist story for me, I got the chance to hop on a plane and experience San Francisco with my new (fictional) friends!
Verdict:
If you're looking for a book to escape reality and float away on a magical adventure, then I think A Message to Your Heart is perfect for you. It promises a beautiful, enchanting tale of discovering yourself and fighting for what is right and never, ever take your loved ones for granted. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Even though I have a copy of the Secret Diary of a Demented Housewife – one of Niamh Greene’s earlier books – I haven’t managed to read it yet. So when I received A Message to Your Heart, I had no idea what to expect. The story itself reminded me a little bit of Sophie Kinsella’s I’ve Got Your Number but it turned out to be completely different. However, it is an entertaining and a very uplifting read – if you like this genre and you’re looking for a quick summer read then it is definitely something you must add to your reading list.
If I had to pick one thing I enjoyed the most in this book then I would say the setting and the way San Francisco is described in the story. At the end of the book the author mentions that she spent some time living in San Francisco and in this novel she tried to give a sense of what this city meant to her – and she really managed to get her message across. I’ve been fascinated by this place ever since I read Meg Donohue’s How to Eat a Cupcake and the two books are quite similar in this respect. Both of them are very atmospheric and they’re guaranteed to make you feel as if you were there, sitting on the balcony of a small Italian restaurant in the dazzling sunshine, eating pizza and sipping a glass of wine.
As for the characters, I think Frankie, with her slightly sarcastic attitude and Irish humour, makes a great narrator. Take Frankie – a workaholic and tiny bit impatient literary agent whose only hope for saving her agency is signing a book deal with a writer called Ian -, add a stubborn and eccentric writer called Ian who’s afraid to step outside his comfort zone and who’s like a big kid, and spice it up with the world’s clumsiest PA named Helen and you know you’re in for a funny adventure!
The only thing I wasn’t particularly fond of is the fact that the story can be quite predictable at times. Aimee’s story is a nice touch and I love the mystery element in the novel but as soon as it turns out who’s behind these unknown messages and why they’re texting Frankie instead of Aimee, it’s quite easy to predict where the story is going and what’s going to happen next.
Other than that, it’s a nice summer read filled with down-to-earth characters, beautiful setting and more importantly, humour – it’s definitely one of those books that you can read in your garden with a cup of tea (or a glass of wine) in hand on a bright summer day. If you’re looking for a book to take on holiday, A Message to Your Heart is a must-have.

Di solito quando un libro mi piace lo divoro in un solo giorno, massimo 2 o 3: dipende dalle pagine. Tuttavia, seppur piccolo, con Sarà perchè ti amo ho impiegato un'intera settimana per leggerlo tutto :(
Non dico che non mi sia piacito ma non dico neppure che mi è piaciuto (ho apprezzato molto il fatto che ci sia scritto più volte e che si parli in più capitoli di J.K Rowling e Harry Potter). È un libro carino, ha un bel finale, tuttavia non è tanto divertente come promettevano le recenzioni dietro la copertina.
Se si potesse tornare indietro lo leggerei ma non lo comprerei cartaceo. Mi sono pentita di averlo acquistato in cartaceo.

I'm always a little unsure when starting a book written by an Irish author. Not to sound bad or anything, but they are usually crap and even though I'm Irish I don't go anywhere near those books. But I was happily surprised by this book, it was really nice to read and the story was great. I think the fact that it was set in San Francisco helped that it was an Irish author. I just find that it's nicer to read books that are set in other places that I don't know about or haven't been to because it allows me to escape my own world.
I picked up this book completely by accident. I was in my local library and when I was looking at the books I happened to catch the eye of a kid through the shelves. Because I am a completely awkward person, I picked up the nearest book to hide behind because I didn't want to be staring and I didn't know quite what to do. Then I decide that since I was hiding behind this book I could at least give it the curtsy of seeing what it was about. And that is how I happened upon this book, it wouldn't have been the type I usually pick up but chance made it so.

Total predictability did not diminish the appeal of this beach-read/romance with a touch of the Irish in it.
Francesca (“Frankie”) Rowley is a struggling literary agent in Dublin, involved in a relationship with calculating, manipulative Gary Elverson, managing director of a big publishing house. Gary convinces Frankie to fly to San Francisco to try and get a contract for Gary with a famous but reclusive writer.
Frankie loses her phone on the plane, and rents a holiday phone at the airport on the advice of her new friend from the trip over, Rosie Kelly. But the rental phone apparently still uses a number previously assigned; Frankie starts getting text messages meant for someone else. Before long, Frankie’s life is a bit out of control, taking turns she never would have anticipated.
Evaluation: This is the perfect confection for an airplane or day at the beach. The book is very cute with delightful (if not exactly all that realistic) characters, and I loved the bits of Irish syntax and culture framing the story.

"Sarà perché ti amo", ovvero come i chick-lit possono stupirti con una profondità che non è esattamente caratteristica del genere. Credo di avere usato più volte io la parola "prevedibile" nelle mie recensioni che un meteorologo durante le previsioni del tempo, ma il mio più grande problema con i libri è proprio questo: non riesco ad apprezzarne uno che non mi abbia sorpreso almeno un po'.
Tutta questa divagazioneinutile per dire che sì, anche questo romanzo, è prevedibile a livello di trama, ma la complessità di quest'ultima lo riscatta completamente, così come quella delle tematiche. La vicenda di Frankie, infatti, ci invita a riscoprire il contatto diretto con gli altri, smettendo di essere così ossessionati dai dispositivi elettronici, da internet o dal lavoro. Quella di John, il fratello di Aimee, la ragazza il cui telefono è finito nelle mani di Frankie, insegna invece l'importanza di "lasciar andare" (e non dico altro per evitare spoiler).

I loved the premise of the story, the idea that a mix up over a phone could lead to something so wonderful just appeals to the old romantic in me. Throughout the story there is humour, compassion and hope, everything that we need to escape at the moment.
I felt as though I were in Frankie's head the entire time and could relate to all her problems and frustrations along her journey. My favourite character has got to be Rosie, she really moves the story along and reminds me of every American I have ever met!
Frankie is like so many women today, struggling to hold down the image of a successful business women while feeling that there is something missing from her life. She has become so caught up in her worries that she has lost the connection with her friends and family and it takes Rosie and a twist of fate to show her what the important things in life are.
A heart warming and uplifting read. Perfect for a summer's evening .
