Facing off against an old enemy isn’t without repercussions. Paul and the Nightmare Crew take on not only their most dangerous adversary but also the establishment.

Paul Wiseman and the rest of the Nightmare Crew attempt to fit into society as best they can. It isn’t easy if you’re a werewolf, a vampire or if you’re a being made of water or sand.

Along with failed efforts at integration comes the news that Andres Peterson, founder of Rallan, Inc.—the company that created the original Nightmare Crew—is still at large.

Peterson is now a mutant, irretrievably evil, and he is also quite clever. With his genius, he sets about making a virtually limitless army of scientific horrors, and they begin to unleash terror on the populace.

It’s up to Paul and the rest of the crew to stop him. Along the way, they are joined by a young girl, who has powers of her own, and a group of Army Rangers.

Catching Peterson is harder than any of them could ever have imagined, though, and the Nightmare Crew ends up being the prey instead of the predator. It becomes a matter of who is willing to fight hardest. But winning isn’t the only goal Paul has in mind.

J.S. Frankel was born in Toronto, Canada, many moons ago and managed to scrape through high school and university, earning a BA in English Literature and leaving no book unopened during his time at the University of Toronto. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Japan in order to teach English to the hapless residents of whichever city he happened to be living at the time.

In 1997, he married the charming Akiko Koike and their union produced two rather interesting children. Frankel and his family make their home in Osaka where he teaches during the day and attempts to write YA fiction at night.

One final action packed adventure for Paul Wiseman and The Nightmare Crew. A powerful old enemy returns threatening to take over the world with his mutant army. It's up to the werewolf hybrid and his supernatural friends to stop him. If catching the evil scientist and his monstrous creations wasn't difficult enough, their vigilante activities attract the attention of the law enforcement and the press. Not everyone is on their side. They gain some new allies as the threat gets worse. But do they have what it takes defeat Anders Peterson and at what cost?

I don't normally read superhero stories but this trilogy was a fun read. Cool battle scenes and memorable characters. I especially liked the main villain Anders Peterson and the protagonists Paul and Angela.

Summary:
All Paul and his friends, The Nightmare Crew, ever wanted was to help the helpless and be accepted for who they were. The problem is all people see is their differences. Angela looks like a vampire, Ooze is a water based entity, Sandstorm was made out of sand and Paul who was human is now a werewolf hybrid. After loosing CF, or Cannon Fodder, another member they continue to try a protect the people anyone in trouble, but when an old enemy reemerges they are once again in the fight of their lives. When individuals in power refused to listen about the danger they were facing they turned of The Crew forcing them to break the law to keep everyone safe. After loosing one of their own, it was amazing how Paul and his friends refused to walk away from the dangers they faced. Paul reunited with Max, the one person in his life who always believed and accepted him, who cared for him long before he became a hybrid and showed that the change made no difference to him. The military enters into the fight without really understanding the level of viciousness their enemy will use leaving The Crew to fight and defend against the opposition who will go to any lengths to win. The most compelling and sad part of this story was how many of the people who they were protecting turned on them without a thought until tragedy struck leaving themselves open to the very danger they hid from. Human nature may be fickle, but we can learn from our mistakes and make the world better like The Nightmare Crew did.

Since I wrote this novel, it's only natural I'm going to rate it highly, but I also think it takes a different approach to how society views that which is different and how those who ARE different deal with the responsibility of having powers and abilities and so on.

The old saying of "With great power comes great responsibility" is true to a large extent...but what if you don't want it? What if you decide things are better left alone without your help? That is the concept Integration explores.

I hope everyone will give it a try. I loved writing The Nightmare Crew trilogy and hope everyone else will love it as well.
