Hannah’s Dilemma is the first book in a brand new Mail Order Bride Series from Mary L. Briggs, author of the popular novella The Stagecoach Bride and The Chance Creek Brides Series.
When lead female character Hannah applied to be a mail order bride, she is pleased to learn she has been accepted. She thought leaving Missouri for Colorado would ease the stress in her, as she absolutely does not want to marry the local banker. So she sets out on her journey to Colorado and meets a man named Ross Pollard. Initially, Ross had little to no interest in a relationship as he thought he had enough on his mind. All the same, he is cordial with Hannah.
{{POSSIBLE SPOILER}} After settling in, Hannah starts to feel unnerved. She thought she'd left all her stress and unwanted attention back in Missouri.
I think this brief read was enjoyable, but it seems more like Hannah's delimmas. I think Hannah is more courageous and stronger than I would be.
Ross’s mother has a plan for the town full of men. She is sending out an announcement to have women move into the town to be brides or offer jobs for them.
Hannah works for a doctor in the office and helping older people. When the nasty banker sets his sights on her she takes that opportunity to move to the new town.
This is a sweet and loving Mail Order Bride Express story written by Mary L Briggs. Ross is co-owner of the Pollsrd Mining Company and the son of the woman that brought her here to be a bride. Hannah was an orphan of sorts as her last relative a passed on. She came to find a true love or perhaps just a career. She is hire as Ross’ secretary and he eventually confessed his love CNN for her. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.
This book was an excellent way for Ms. Briggs to begin her series on the Mail Order Bride Express. She spends just the right amount of time in setting up Inez's plan to transport "brides" to the mining town to socialize the men, who are always fighting and drinking. The fact that the first groom is Inez's son, Ross, is the perfect start to the series.
Read it in two hours.Enjoyed the characters . Looking forward to reading more from this series. Just wish there was more depth on the courting between Ross and Hannah.
I appreciated this story. I had its cute little interactions between the man male and female character even if they clashed in the beginning. Of course we should always have a villain that isn’t willing to give up. Nice short read.
This is a sweet short story with some well developed characters. I feel this could be fleshed out into a longer story, and the ending felt rushed. Still an interesting addition to the mail bride genre.
What a sweet story! I didn't expect it to end like that, but I'm not disappointed. I only wish we got to hear what happened to Mr. Stout, not that I cared all that much, just curious!
I liked it! I would have liked it more if Wesley had wanted to marry Hannah to get the lump sum of an inheritance when married that Hannah did not know about! Pam
This book was enjoyable to read with the wonderful characters, action-packed entertaining moments. Along with the need to trust God for protection was inspirational as well. I recommend this book.
