A collection of webcomics from Libreng Komiks; the strips themselves skew pop culture, international and local, and local politics. The strips are populated by figures with constipated faces that exaggerate, to squeeze as much funny as possible from the jokes. This also gives the artist his signature style. The strips are usually one-off; one gag and that's it; but it does have a few recurring characters and may appear in future strips.

Most of the strips can be found online but this printed edition has more than a few extras that would make it worth your while to get a copy. It also reproduced the colors quite well and it really pops on the page.

If you're into Philippine komiks and humor, then this book could be for you.

You have most likely seen Toto Madayag's free comic strips posted in your Facebook feed (aside from those drawn by Manix Abrera). P*cha, e 'di Komiks collects these funny trinkets together with 50 more pages of exclusive content. PEDK really shines when it tries to deliver the punchlines in a way that is organic to the young professional readers - those who are bombarded with daily political and social issues both in reality and the internet. Whereas Kikomachine caters to issues in the academe (enlistment, dorms, etc.), PEDK deals with traffic, spoilers and pop culture references along with other shit like that.

The social commentary jokes range from lazily shallow to genuinely funny, and are my least favorite panels in the book (along with the 'babes' jokes). The presidential campaign jokes were just okay, given that the election was held already months ago. What I found most entertaining are the jokes about tv references, commuting and traffic, and unexpectedly the 'dad jokes'.

PEDK doesn't care to be (mildly) offensive, blatantly bashing local personalities, ranting about events and the media. There are even pages dedicated to activists!

P*cha e 'di Komiks appeals to those who are up to date with stuff in social media and those who experience the everyday struggles in the labor force. It doesn't go deeper into being more political (like what happened to Pugad Baboy), which is a great thing because at the end of the day, we read comics to be entertained and not to be preached.

Natawa naman ako rito, in fairness. Puyat at pagod.

Perslab neber dais.

I decided to read this while waiting in line on a bank (bagong sweldo, bayad-bayad ng bills). And I was oh so wrong in my choice of reading material. Why?

Because I cannot stop laughing. People were giving me weird looks but were also looking at what I was reading (free advertisement. :p).

So yeah, should you get this book? YES. Is it worth every peso? YES. Should there be another one? OF COURSE.

Isang upuan man pero paulit-ulit namang babasahin.

It's everything I want in a comic book. Having read multiple comic books from [other] local artists, some copy style from foreign artists and rather despise, I feel somehow that it's not Filipino. But!! Toto Madayag's P*cha Edi Komiks is the gateway to Filipino comics, drawn specifically with his own style that which reminisces Pugad Baboy days. It's witty and encompasses pure Filipino humor--slapstick comedy that takes the fun out of the norm and everyday struggle, reminding the resiliency of Filipinos. I was very excited to get a copy of the book, especially as soon as he announced its self-publishing. I'd definitely recommend it to publishing companies [if ever I knew one]

I rated it 3 stars because I was expecting more columns (was it?)--comics--that's not posted in his page. Or maybe I misinterpreted and it was after all, a collection. Either way, I hope the 2nd book would be entire comics that's not posted on the page because there's something in the feeling of getting something you can't find online. [If this is not a wishful, harmful, thinking.]

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS TO SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS!!!! (that have their own style of art)

Palong palo!

Ang kulet and one of the most hilarious compilation of comic strips I've owned. Every penny is well worth it to be honest. The printing alone is quite stellar and well being a follower since the Game of Trolls era, I'd say the art style is what mostly got me hooked into it. Apart from the witty puns and funny installments that is.

I've personally met sir Toto Madayag and he was nice enough to entertain me and humble enough whenever I try and compliment his work - which is quite brilliant and witty, no kidding there. Congratulations sir for getting this book published. I have to say, it's nice seeing it on my personal collection.

For a proper review, all I can say is that you'd enjoy it. Any Filipino would enjoy it. It's as relatable as Turon is as common of a 3PM merienda food nationwide. The art style is like I've said, none the less brilliant. The printing is stellar. It's worth every peso. Pick it up for some happy evening later. ;)

Pak na pak sa pop culture comedy! And sobrang ganda ng quality ng printing! For sure may sequel na tong kasunod!

Kaso hassle nga kasi yung online ordering tapos magbabayad ka pa thru bank or other bayad center chuva.

Wuhoooo!

I was not disappointed with the content and the overall quality of the book (which also came with FREEBIES! yay! *Confetti*), but what I really LOVED about it is how 'natural' the punchlines are. Soo relatable and fun to read that I read the whole compilation in one sitting. (READ: Bitin, Sir Toto! haha)

Will watch out for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, xth Collections!
