Ursa is unassuming and practical. She never craved glamorous things until she accepted an invitation to the Halloween Masquerade, a carefully arranged erotic event featuring voyeurism, public sex, kinky games and role-play. She is captivated by a handsome man—a chocolate-skinned, winged archer in a Cupid mask who awakens hunger she never realized possible. He provokes her Domme, teases her senses, satisfies her body, and even introduces Ursa to pony-play. Hidden behind her mask, she becomes the person she craves to be, but never dared.
Ursa’s mysterious lover fulfills her every dark desire, and beyond. She embraces her secret pleasures to the fullest during their wild fantasy weekend. When it ends and her mask is removed the Domme disappears and normal life returns, but the yearning for Cupid and her new passions remain.

This was a new author for me and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a rare treat to find an author who is somehow realistic about the lifestyles and community and also known how to create likable characters, especially Domme. I was sucked into the Masquerade fantasy and I liked it a lot. Ursa is curious about the lifestyle and is invited by her friend to the kinky Masquerade where she can enjoy safe sex with a person she chooses. She doesn’t see herself suitable and is a bit self-conscious at first, her inner battle is ongoing but in the end curiosity and the need to experience kink wins. She finds herself observing interaction and scenes and is getting more and more intrigued by it. When she almost bails, her path is crossed by a wonderful black man with wings – she calls him Cupid, while others calls him Archer. He wants to serve her and it is wonderful to observe how she grows into her Domme role almost instantly. Their building arousal leads to hot kinky scenes and pony play which is another treat. I liked the fantasy, sex, characters and their slowly building romance. Overall it was kinky sweet with a Domme who quickly gets comfortable in her role. I am wondering how their story will go on.
I loved, loved , loved this! The characters were great, loved that Cupid was sensitive to Ursula's nervousness in diving into this new world. Especially liked that there was a story and not just sex scenes after sex scenes...tho thats not bad lol. Above all, I loved that there was a HEA.....Im a sucker for those. Looking forward to reading more of Dianas books!!
When I received this book, I wasn't quite sure about it because it wasn't exactly something that I normally pick up but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it. I felt a little like protagonist Ursa walking into her first Masquerade. As she walked up to the limo, her mask on, nervous and shaky, so too was I, nervous about what was to come. But Wilson's writing style seemed effortless and instantly I began to enjoy the tension. Overall, I loved this book, so much so that I am happy to learn that it's a series, one I cannot WAIT to jump back into.
I have two issues - the first is how quickly Ursa goes from shy and "oh my god, I'm going home" to "I'm a Domme now, let's do this." I don't think it felt natural. I know, obviously, very little about these situations and scenes, but there was such (well written) build up about her nerves and her anxieties and then they're just instantly dissolved. I would have liked them to be chipped away a bit more. I mean, it didn't stop me from reading the entire novel, and loving the entire novel, but still.
The second were the wings. Like. Maybe there will be more about them later, but it felt like a plot device poorly used. And then forgotten about. I like a little fantasy in the real world, just like any other girl who hopes all those paranormal romances could be real, but like, don't forget about them?
What I loved was Wilson's attention to detail. Every single scene was intimately scripted out from the feel of fingers on skin to the emotions in Ursa's head. I loved the extravagance of it all. I loved how there were those who loved the drama and those who just loved the scene. I loved how Diana Rose Wilson wrote a love story in the middle of a weekend long Masquerade and it felt real and authentic and oh so yummy. I'd read many, many more books from her.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy of the book in exchange for a review. The book is Wicked Masquerade by Diana Rose Wilson.
This is quite new author for me, and I will say that the writing style is awesome and well written. Maybe only sad thing was that this book is too short. Erotica can be hard to write, but in this book the style was gorgeous and make me happy to read this. I have read so many other books in my life, even erotica and this was one of the best. Other thing than writing style was that there were characters with interesting chemistry between them. And pony play was something what you usual not see in the books even thought you like read quite lot of the books where themes are bdsm etc. I hoped that the book will be longer but maybe someday we will get much longer book with similar themes or age play or something else.
It doesn't takes so many times to read because quite short, but still it wa erotical book with some nice and hot scenes. Sometimes I had feelings that Ursula was just like any other women in this World and sometimes it was also quite annoying when character is just like any other people or should I say woman in the World. But sometimes this is also the best start in the book, when the characters are quite normal people even thought the themes are like bdsm, D&S etc.
This is a faced paced erotic love story. Running a bookstore Ursa met Marcie who showed a mutual interest in BDSM. Sensing Ursa’s low self-esteem and knowing her interest in BDSM. Marcie invited her to a Masquerade Ball that way she could literally hide behind a mask. Ursa would have the power to choose for herself who and what she wanted. All she had to do was offer one of her coins to someone she wanted. They would accept or decline it was that easy right. The one man Ursa wanted had already turned down many women. He made it clear to her that he was waiting for her to offer him a coin. And so he was hers for the whole weekend. Not wanting to make the parting uncomfortable she snuck out before he awoke. And she could go back to her life. Knowing a man like that would never want her in the real world. The rest is for you to discover and you don't have to hide behind a mask.
This was a sexy and enjoyable story. I found myself wishing it was longer, as there were some aspects that seemed unresolved, and the posturing during the masquerade was a bit much for me - but overall, it was an entertaining read.

Not everyone can write great erotica, but Diana Rose Wilson does an amazing job. Really hot sex with women in control. Hot men, masquerades and sexy situations make this a panty dropping read. I was wondering if she could get an invitation for one of these parties. I received this book for an honest review from Net Galley
This was my first book from Diana Wilson. It was an Easy. Quick. Sexy. Read. It's a shame it was too short but still enjoyable. I'll definitely check out her other selections.
This is the story of a woman called Ursa who attends her first masquerade weekend and doesn't know what to expect. She meets a man she calls cupid, and the story is about her domination of him the entire weekend. It was a fairly predictable read for me, and I wasn't totally enthralled with it. Easy enough to pick up and put down but i wasn't grabbed by the characters or the story.
I really enjoyed this book, parts of it were slightly strange but as will happen in books like this. A lot shorter than I thought it would be, I read it within a couple of hours!
A woman is invited to what she thinks will be an all-out orgy, immediately feeling inferior to all the supermodel types. She finds the affair more classy than anticipated, with plenty of new rules. Most people are nice to her but there’s also some jerks, especially after she attracts the attention of a famous stud. One encounter with him, with her in charge, and she’s staying for more despite her previous plans. The erotic scenes were wonderful, but what really set this book apart was the rest: small moments of introspection, surprising humor, and the description of two people genuinely liking each other. I always read to the end, and I’m glad I did this time, as I found this is the author’s first book. If she’s this good her first time out, I definitely look forward to the next.

This is a first from this author for me, and I will say that it is so very well written. Erotica, I have found, is often sloppily written and edited, but this was beautiful and descriptively written. It was a quick and fun read, with lots and lots of sexy scenes within. It's got the woman in charge, which is a nice twist up from what I normally read in this genre where the market has been saturated with alpha male billionaires.
Four stars instead of five because there are some things that kind of took me out of the story from time to time (hello, wings) and it jarred from the rest of the book's tone.
Other than my personal dislike for the word cum, which is used throughout, I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
The leads are well fleshed out and easy to like. The chemistry between them was smoking hot. Scenes involved femdom and maledom... and pegging, swoon!
The pony play was nothing like I've read before and totally delightful. I felt like I was at the races!
As a lover of femdom, I was going to jump right into book 2, but given the I'm not a fan of the wicked ex causing trouble, I don't think it will be my cuppa.

Enjoyed this read. Finished it in a couple of hours only!! The characters were awesome. Ursula is a shy newbie but has great promise. The Cupid in this book is hot and just right in my book. The masquerade is just what Ursula needs to get out of her comfort zone. I would have liked more of a prologue. The scenes were hot!!!! Let's not get off this train if we don't have to!!!
I received this ARC from the publisher at my request for an honest review via Net Galley. Thanks NET Galley!!!!
The book was not what I expect. I have a pretty open mind but it was a little different because it had a lot of this thing called pony play. It's not something that I enjoy reading about. I really did not finish because it couldn't hold my interest.
